Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum is a process of applying learning that focuses on flexibility in learning, and the active role of students as the center of learning activities, by integrating Islamic values, character building, and competencies comprehensively, by the principles of the Pancasila Student Profile. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in fikih education at the State Senior High School in Purbalingga, as well as to identify various challenges and strategies employed by teachers in adapting to the new learning approach. The research method used is qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques that include interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Data validity was tested using triangulation techniques. Based on the research results, it was found that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in fikih education has driven a shift in teaching approaches toward a more student-centered approach, with a focus on character development, understanding of material relevant to daily life, and increased active student participation in learning. However, limitations in resources and teachers' knowledge of the essence of the independent curriculum remain the main challenges. Therefore, ongoing training and strengthening the role of teachers as facilitators in adaptive and transformative fikih learning are necessary.

Abstract

Public relations (PR) serves as an essential medium for shaping positive public opinion and increasing public trust in institutions, including Islamic educational institutions. In this context, PR acts as a bridge between the institution and the public to foster mutual understanding, trust, and a positive image. Effective PR management supports the smooth implementation of the learning process and the improvement of educational quality by establishing harmonious two-way communication between the institution and the community. This study employs a qualitative approach using interviews and literature review methods to obtain relevant and in-depth data. The findings indicate that PR plays a strategic role in maintaining the sustainability of Islamic educational institutions, particularly in communicating the institution's vision and mission, building synergy with the community, and managing institutional image professionally. In conclusion, well-planned and continuous PR management is a crucial factor in supporting the sustainability and development of Islamic educational institutions amid ongoing social dynamics.

Abstract

Abstract: Gen Z who was born between 1997-2012 is a generation that was born full of ambition, brave, quite critical human beings, and high curiosity. But they also have a weak point, namely a generation that gets bored easily, sees results more than processes, is used to instant things, easily stressed, easily affected by small things and others. With this weak point, it is feared that Gen Z will be easily provoked by hoax information, fall into misleading ideas, so that violence, destruction, and war can easily be created. Therefore, pesantren are present as a shield and a forum for Gen Z to learn about religion, humanization, tolerance, multiculturalism and inclusiveness. From these indicators, peace education values will be created. Descriptive qualitative research methods of phenomenological study type. Data collection techniques by: 1) Interviews 2) Field observations 3) Documentation studies. The analysis technique of this research by: 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) verification, then continued by checking the wetness of the data by means of triangulation. The result of this study is that strengthening peace education values in Gen Z students in pesantren can be done by a) Implementing Inclusive Peace Education Values. b) Implementation of Multicultural-based Peace Education Values. c) Implementation of Peace Education Values based on Humanism. d) Implementation of Peace Education Values based on Tolerance. Abstract

The Kanoman Palace of Cirebon preserves a number of religious manuscripts written in Arabic, Javanese, Pegon, and Malay, most of which have not been properly inventoried. The absence of a manuscript catalog limits researchers’ access and negatively affects preservation efforts, especially since many of the manuscripts have suffered physical deterioration. This study aims to carry out a systematic cataloging of the manuscripts as a strategic step toward their preservation through digitalization, codicological identification, and the preparation of detailed manuscript descriptions. The research employs philological methods with a focus on codicology, including analyses of writing materials, dimensions, pagination, physical condition, script, language, ink, illumination, rubrication, and textual content. The findings reveal that 22 manuscripts were successfully inventoried, consisting of 15 Arabic-language manuscripts and 7 manuscripts written in non-Arabic languages. The primary themes represented in the collection include Sufism, Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), theology (tawhid), Arabic grammar (nahwu), and morphology. The cataloging process produced comprehensive codicological data that highlight the condition of the manuscripts, many of which exhibit damage such as tears, holes, or fading ink. This study affirms that cataloging is an effective preservation measure because it provides accurate access to information without requiring direct physical contact with manuscripts that are vulnerable to further damage. Moreover, the research opens new avenues for subsequent manuscript studies, particularly in the effort to preserve Cirebon’s cultural and intellectual heritage.

Abstract

Unesco pada tahun 2003 menetapkan wayang sebagai salah satu Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible of Humanity atau karya agung lisan tak benda warisan manusia. Pemerintah telah menetapkan tanggal 7 Nopember sebagai Hari Wayang Nasional berdasarkan Keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia No. 30 Tahun 2018 tentang Hari Wayang Nasional. Abstract

This study analyzes the Purworejo Religious Court Decision No. 67/Pdt.G/2025/PA.Pwr, which grants custody (hadhanah) of a non-mumayiz child to the biological fathera decision that deviates from the normative provisions of Article 105 letter (a) of the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). This research is normative legal research employing statutory, case, and conceptual approaches. The results indicate that the judge's primary considerations were the principle of the best interest of the child and maslahah mursalah, taking into account the ongoing domestic conflict, the parties' agreement in mediation, and the effort to maintain the child's environmental stability. Although textually contradictory to the KHI, this decision can be philosophically justified through the maqashid al-shari'ah approach (protecting the child's soul and progeny) and is in line with the Child Protection Law, which prioritizes the child's best interests. However, this decision has complex implications for gender equality; on one hand, it deconstructs the stereotype of exclusive female caregiving, but on the other hand, it potentially overlooks the early-age child's developmental need for maternal attachment. This study concludes that the decision represents the dynamic evolution of Islamic family law in Indonesia, which is beginning to adopt a substantive approach oriented towards child welfare, though it requires strengthening aspects of parenting capacity assessment and post-decision monitoring mechanisms.

Abstract

This article examines the role of Muhammadiyah in fostering a balanced economic order, tracing its trajectory from puritanical reasoning toward religious moderation. Muhammadiyah’s religious vision serves as a form of social capital that strengthens food security initiatives. This study is a library-based inquiry employing a philosophical–historical–critical approach. The chosen analytical framework is functionalism, which emphasizes impact and explores the interrelations between religious functions and work ethic. Within this framework, functionalism observes how Muhammadiyah’s puritanism is transformed into economic consciousness, ultimately producing concrete achievements through its charitable enterprises. The findings reveal that Muhammadiyah’s puritanism is dynamic rather than static. Its puritan impulses operate more actively in the social sphere than in the theological one. Its rejection of certain rituals and traditions reflects a refusal of inefficiency. Conversely, Muhammadiyah’s moderation strengthens ethos and action, cultivating balance between worldly and spiritual life, between the physical and the metaphysical, and between spiritual and material pursuits. For Muhammadiyah, the interpretation of Qur’anic verses is assessed through practice and the benefits they generate. This pragmatic religious orientation aligns with the character of urban Muslims and represents a geo-spiritual approach that contributes to social mobility within the community.

Abstract

Many cases of sexual violence have occurred within Islamic boarding school (pesantren) environments. This study aims to examine the relevance between female students’ perceptions of sexuality and their readiness to protect themselves from the threat of sexual harassment, as well as to explore how sex education is implemented in pesantren settings. This research adopts a quantitative approach, supported by qualitative elements through descriptive statistical analysis. The population consists of female santri in Banyumas Regency, with a sample of 102 respondents selected using non-probability sampling and random homogeneous techniques. The findings indicate that students’ views on aspects of sexuality—such as norms, values, and morality—vary considerably. These differences in interpreting and responding to sexuality are influenced by cultural factors, personal experiences, educational background, and the pesantren environment itself. The results also reveal varying levels of awareness regarding potential risks: some students have received information and training, while others remain less sensitive to the issue. These findings highlight the need for a more structured approach to ensuring the safety and protection of students from potential sexual abuse. The study further identifies the efforts and methods employed by pesantren in providing sex education. While such material is acknowledged to exist, it is not presented systematically as part of a structured curriculum. Ideally, sex education for santri should incorporate instruction on moral values and sexual responsibility, reflecting an effort to integrate religious values with a modern understanding of sexuality
