Jurnal Panangkaran merupakan jurnal Assosiasi Peneliti Agama-agama yang bekerjasama dengan Pusat Penelitian dan Penerbitan LP2M UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta sebagai media komunikasi hasil penelitian para peneliti, ilmuwan dan cendekiawan. Tujuannya adalah untuk mewadahi, menyebarluaskan dan mendialogkan wacana ilmiah di bidang penelitian sosial keagamaan. Naskah yang dimuat dalam jurnal berasal dari hasil-hasil penelitian maupun kajian-kajian kritis para peneliti agama atau akademisi yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan kehidupan sosial keagamaan, kelekturan, pendidikan dan keagamaan, agama dan sains. Jurnal terbit setahun 2 kali pada bulan Juni dan Desember.

Abstract

This article discusses the preservation of ancient scripts in the Surakarta Grand Mosque collection. A majority of texts are former books that were used as teaching materials at the Manba’ul ‘UlumMadrasah in Surakarta. A madrasah established by the Kasunanan sultanate of Surakarta during the reign of Sri SusuhunanPakubuwono IX (1861-1893). The presence of these texts serves as evidence in the intensity of the sultanate in developing Islam through the education process, hence making them a highly significant source of written history.There are currently 93 scripts in existence, however the conditions require serious preservation efforts. Aside from natural degradation by time, other ecological factors that should be considered in their preservation are quite lacking. Each script has differing conditions, thus the need for special treatment. For that reason, preservation efforts must be undertaken immediately.

Abstract

 This research took place in three hamlets; Nganti, Menguri, and Sebatang located in Hargotirto in theregion of Kokap in Kulonprogo. This research stems from the community service known as KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or Work-Study in the Field) that is integrated-interconnected and based on the development of productive, innovative, and creative communities. Work programs include social religious programs, government administration, education, public health, and the local economy. This research is a collaborative study between the students of the 96th batch and PGMI S2 FITK lecturers of UIN Sunan Kalijaga,Yogyakarta. Data is obtained from the research results of observation, interviews, and documentation. This research model needs to be developed for the campus environment as a form of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education; education, research, and service for integrated and interconnected communities.[Penelitian ini mengambil lokasi di tiga pedukuhan, yaitu Pedukuhan Nganti, Menguri dan Sebatang desa Hargotirto, kokap, Kulonprogo. Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan dari pengabdian pada masyarakat dalam bentuk Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN). Bentuk KKN yang di maksud adalah Model Kuliah Kerja Nyata yang terintegratif-interkonektif berbasis pada pengembangan masyarakat yang produktif,  inovatif dan kreatif. Program kerja yang digarap meliputi, program sosial keagamaan, administrasi pemerintahan, pendidikan, kesehatan masyarakat, dan perekonomian rakyat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kolaborasi antara mahasiswa KKN Angkatan 96 dengan dosen dan mahasiswa PGMI S2 FITK UIN Sunan kalijaga Yogyakarta. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Model penelitian ini perlu dikembangkan untuk dunia kampus sebagai bentuk dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Abstract

The study effect of temperature on the morphology of carbon nanotube (CNF) based coconut husk has been done. CNF is one of the nanotechnology products that can be applied to reduce the concentration of the especially Pb, Cd, Ni. Thepurpose of this study are temperature effect on CNF and determine the potential uses treatment of CNF in the laundry waste. The Growth of CNF used the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method with a temperature variation of 6000 C,7000 C, and 8000 C. CNF synthesis involves reacting activated carbon from coconut shell, ferrocene (Fe(C5H5)2) as a catalyst, benzene as the carbon source,and argon gas flowed. The Purification of CNF using nitric acid (HNO3) 65%. The result of Energy Dispersive Spestroscopy (EDS) characterization indicate that increasing temperatures indicate increasing carbon content. CNF as adsorbent deposited on the laundry waste. The water quality test of the laundry waste showed that the adsorption of CNF likely reduce Pb level at 67,4% at a temperature of 6000C and DO concentration increases. CNF T has no effect on the amount of PH and Cd, while BOD and COD consentration increases.

Abstract

Wardah cosmetic products heavily use television advertisements in promoting their products. Wardah’s “In My Life” advertisements show the public a particular representation of the lifestyles of Indonesian Muslim women. In this study, it was seen how the advertisements showedIndonesian Muslim women carrying out their daily activities. Through the semiotic method it was found that Muslim women in Indonesia are shown to have an active and dynamic lifestyle in carrying out various activities. All activities were still carried out using Muslim clothing and veils, but the use of Muslim clothing and headscarves was tailored to the type of activity being carried out. This is indicated by various types of Muslim clothing and models of hijabs that the models used when doing several different activities.[Produk kosmetik Wardah gencar menggunakan iklan televisi dalam mempromosikan produknya. Melalui iklan televisi Wardah versi in my life menampilkan kepada masyarakat tentang representasi gaya hidup wanita muslim Indonesia. Dalam penelitian ini dilihat bagaimana wanita muslim Indonesia dalam akifitas kesehariannya ditampilkan dalam iklan. Melalui metode semiotika ditemukan bahwa wanita muslim di Indonesia ditampilkan memiliki gaya hidup aktif dan dinamis dalam melakukan berbagai aktivitas. Segala aktivitas tetap dilakukan dengan menggunakan pakaian muslim dan berjilbab. Namun penggunaan pakaian muslim dan jilbab tersebut disesuaikan dengan jenis aktivitas yang dilakukan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan berbagai jenis pakaian muslim dan model jilbab yang digunakan wanita sebagai model iklan tersebut saat melakukan beberapa aktivitas yang berbeda.]

Abstract

As a country with a Muslim majority, it is not uncommon for the state to protect the Islamic community from consuming food, drugs and cosmetics that originate from non-halal substances and ingredients. In reality, the state has yet to provide certain guarantee regarding the halal status of a product in accordance to the Islamic law. There are still very few food products from the micro and small industries that posses and propose for halal certification. Micro and small entrepreneurs as of current remain unconcerned regarding the halal status of their products, despite the availability of assistance in the certification process. What about the case in which a minority Muslim community resides amidst a community of non-muslim majority with its local regulation and character in the city of Kupang? For that reason, this explorative research which employed a mixed-method approach will attempt to answer the following questions: (1) what are the concern of urban Muslim community in the city of Kupang regarding the halal status of micro/small business food products; and (2) what factors influence the concern of the Muslim community in the city of Kupang regarding the halal status of micro/small business food products. The objectives of this research are: (1) obtain an outlook on the concern of Muslim community in the city of Kupang regarding the halal status of micro/small business food products; (2) obtain understanding on actions undertaken based on the concern of Muslim community in the city of Kupang regarding the halal status of micro/small business food products; and (3) to identify the factors influencing the concern of Muslim community in the city of Kupang regarding the halal status of micro/small business food products.The research result shows a high concern of Muslim community in the city of Kupang regarding the halal status of micro/small business food products. It is proven that as much as 77% of respondents stated they always checked the halal label of packaged food, 48% of respondents stated that they always asked fast food vendors whether lard based oil is used, 86% of respondents said that they would speak fairly if they knew that a chicken vendor is selling meat that has gone bad, 97% of respondents said they refused to continue their purchase when entering a restaurant offering menu of chicken, goat, or beef that is processed side by side with pork, and as much as 88% of respondents stated that they would report a seller who mixes chicken or other meat with pork. The high level of concern demonstrated by the Muslim community in the city of Kupang is caused by a sociological factor, wherein being a minor community living in a community with differing religious norms has in fact triggered the community’s awareness in the importance of halal products.

Abstract

This study employs a philosophical approach to ideas and thoughts of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), one of largest Islamic mass organisation in Indonesia, in regards to the way this organisation responds to globalization, providing reference especially to their adherence and Muslim society in general.  As many other Muslim organisations, NU has been struggling in to deal with globalization issues, along with its challenges, opportunities, and threats. Initiatives and efforts have been initiated by NU leaders to avoid negative impacts of globalisation for the society. In this regards, NU leaders with their discourse of Islam Nusantara are known for their thoughts and approach in maintaining religious harmony, not only among Muslims but also for Indonesian society in general.The Research focuses on three research questions; firstly, what is the main idea behind the discourse of Islam Nusantara?; secondly, what are the approach employed by NU leaders to promote the discourse of Islam Nusantara?; and, thirdly, to what extent the discourse of  Islam Nusantara has significance in the context of society?s respond towards globalization? The data collected through literature and documentary study, focusing on primary sources related NU and the discourse of Islam Nusantara.The research found that the idea of Islam Nusantara is an effort to re-establish the contemporary thought of Islam in Indonesia, which allows a process of dialogue between new ideas and thoughts and what have been preserved as heritage from the past.  In more specific way, the new idea of Islam Nusantara is basically an effort to interpret the big idea of Pribumisasi Islam, firstly introduced by Abdurrahman Wahid, one of the most prominent NU leaders, in 1980s. The discourse of Islam Nusantara has been actively promoted by NU through its branches in the country as well as its linkages of the prominent figures and scholars. It appears that the discourse of Islam Nusantara is proven to be one of the most prominent contemporary thoughts in Indonesia as they relate to indigenous Islam in Indonesia. Referring to Hegelian?s perspective, the discourse of Islam Nusantara is a form synthesis between globalization, as a thesis, and indigenous Islam, as an anti-thesis.[Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan filosofis mengenai ide dan pemikiran Ormas Islam Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), salah satu organisasi terbesar di Indonesia mengenai cara organisasi ini menghadapi globalisasi yang memberikan tuntunan khususnya kepada para anggotanya dan masyarakat muslim secara umum. Sebagaimana organisasi muslim lainnya, NU telah bergulat dalam menangani persoalan-persoalan globalisasi beserta tantangan, peluang, dan ancamannya. Upaya dan inisiatif telah digalakan oleh para pemimpin NU untuk mengatasi dampak negatif untuk masyarakat dari globalisasi. Dalam hal ini, para pemimpin NU dengan wacana Islam Nusantaranya dikenal luas karena pemikiran dan pendekatan mereka dalam menjaga kerukunan umat beragama, tidak hanya umat muslim namun juga bagi masyarakat Indonesia pada umumnya.Fokus kajian ini meliputi tiga rumusan masalah yaitu, pertama, Apakah ide pokok dalam wacana Islam Nusantara? Kedua, pendekatan apa yang digunakan para pemimpin NU untuk menggalakan wacana Islam Nusantara? Ketiga, sejauh mana wacana Islam Nusantara, dalam konteks respon masyarakat terhadap globalisasi memiliki signifikansinya? Data dari kajian ini dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka dan dokumenter, dengan penekanan pada sumber primer tentang NU dan wacana Islam Nusantara.Dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa gagasan Islam Nusantara adalah suatu upaya mengembangkan kembali pemikiran Islam kontemporer di Indonesia, yang memberikan jalan bagi proses dialog antara gagasan dan pemikiran baru dengan warisan masa lalu yang kini masih dipertahankan. Dalam cara tertentu, gagasan Islam Nusantara pada dasarnya adalah sebuah upaya menafsirkan ide besar tentang Pribumisasi Islam yang pertama kali dikenalkan oleh Abdurrahman Wahid, salah satu pemimpin NU yang paling berpengaruh pada tahun 1980. Wacana Islam Nusantara telah secara aktif digalakan oleh NU melalui cabang-cabangnya di Indonesia beserta jaringan para tokoh-tokoh dan ulama NU yang terkemuka dan berpengaruh. Ini menunjukkan bahwa wacana Islam Nusantara terbukti menjadi salah satu produk pemikiran kontemporer yang paling menonjol  berkenaan dengan Islam Pribumi di  Indonesia. Abstract

This study focuses on identifying the perspectives of three scholars/ commentators of Quran (mufasir), Hasbi ash-Shidieqy, Hamka, and M. Quraish Shihab, on the different patterns of relationship between husband and wife in the household. The patterns analysed in this study are especially based on the three scholars? interpretation of the quran,  Surah al-Nisa. This surah is one of the Surahs in the Quran to give special attention to women, including the relationship between husband and wife through several verses.This study based on the interpretations of the three Indonesian mufasir, Hasbi ash-Shidieqy and his book of Tafsir al-Bajaan, Hamka in his book of Tafsir al-Azhar, and M. Quraish Shihab in his book of Tafsir al-Misbah. These three mufasir compiled their commentaries in a form of tahlili.  This means that the three commentators interpret the verses of surah al-Nisa's related to the theme of husband and wife relation separately, in order to the surah based on tartib mushafi, while the fragmented discussions are gathered into one discussion corridor.The data is collected using a thematic research and the selection of character research. Thematic research focuses on the discussion on one identified theme, while the selection of character research is based on the unique thinking of the three commentators regarding the theme. The result shows that among the responses of the Quran to the construct the pattern of relationship between husband and wife is through replacement of thoise against the Quran and maintain those that are in line with the rules of the Quran.[Kajian ini menelaah perspektif tiga Sarjana atau ahli Tafsir Qur?an (Mufasir) yaitu, Hasbi ash-Shidieqy, Hamka, dan M. Quraish Shihab tentang perbedaan pola hubungan suami-istri dalam rumah tangga. Pola hubungan yang dianalisis dalam studi ini khususnya adalah pada tafsir dari ketiga mufasir tersebut terhadap Surah an-Nisa. Surat ini adalah salah satu surat dalam al-Quran yang memberikan perhatian khusus pada wanita, termasuk hubungan suami-istri di seluruh ayat di dalamnya.Kajian ini didasarkan pada tafsir dari ketiga mufasir Indonesia di atas, yaitu Hasbi ash-Shidieqy dengan kitab tafsirnya Tafsir al-Bajaan, Hamka dalam Tafsir al-Azhar-nya, dan M.Qiraish Shihab dalam Tafsir al-Misbah. Ketiga mufasir ini memberikan penjelasan pada tafsir nya dalam bentuk tahlili, yang berarti ketiga mufasir tersebut menafsirkan ayat-ayat dalam surah an-Nisa yang berhubungan dengan hubungan suami-istri secara terpisah dengan tujuan untuk mendasarkan pada tartib mushafi, sementara pembahasan mengenai relasi suami-istri yang terpisah tersebut kemudian dikelompokkan menjadi satu alur pembahasan.Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan penelitian tematik dan pemilahan sesuai jenis penelitian. Penelitian tematik ini fokus pada pembahasan mengenai satu tema pembahasan, sementara pemilahan jenis penelitian didasarkan pada pemikiran unik dari ketiga komentator tersebut mengenai tema relasi suami-istri. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa di antara tanggapan terhadap al-Quran para mufasir tersebut dalam mengkonstruk pola hubungan suami-istri adalah melalui penyesuaian ayat-ayat al-Quran yang sesuai untuk mempertahankan tafsir yang sesuai dengan ajaran al-Quran.]

Abstract

This paper aims to illustrate Habermas's thoughts on post-secularism, especially in regards to stretching religion which he believes that after secularism religion should be considered as in the public space. The study uses a political philosophy approach. In his findings, Habermas concluded that the role of religion can no longer be denied its presence in the political space. To minimize religious totalitarianism, Habermas divides public space into formal and informal settings, in which religion and politics appear to influence one to another. According to Habermas, religion can only present in an informal space. If people want to contribute in a formal space, they have to translate religious language into secular language.[Artikel ini menelaah pemikiran Habermas tentang pos-sekulerisme, khususnya berkenaan dengan kelonggaran peran agama yang ia yakini bahwa setelah terjadinya sekularisme, agama harus turut berperan dalam ruang publik. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan filsafat politik. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa, Habermas memandang saat ini (era pos-sekularisme) peran agama tidak lagi dapat ditolak kehadirannya di ruang publik. Untuk meminimalisir totalitarianisme agama, Habermas  membagi ruang publik menjadi aturan formal dan aturan informal, yang mana agama dan politik saling berkelindan dan mempengaruhi satu sama lain. Menurut Habermas, agama hanya dapat hadir dalam ruang informal. Jika masyarakat yang agamis hendak turut berkontribusi dalam ranah publik formal, mereka harus menerjemahkan bahasa agama mereka menjadi bahasa sekuler.]
