Abstract

The need for stimulation or efforts to stimulate children to introduce new knowledge or skills is very important in improving children's intelligence. Stimulation in children can be started since the baby is a fetus, because the fetus is not a passive creature. In the womb, the fetus is able to breathe, kick, stretch, move, swallow, suck the thumb, and others. While the main stimulation is given specifically for children aged 0-7 years (Siswono, 2004). PAUD teacher's understanding and awareness of the importance and influence of parental education on child development vary. Many do not understand the characteristics of early childhood development, stimulation, and implementation of early detection of early childhood growth and development. Asih Waluyo Jati Clinic is a Pratama clinic that has a program about child development. With community service at the Asih Waluyo Jati Primary Clinic, it is expected that the knowledge and understanding of PAUD teachers on the characteristics of growth and development, simulation, and implementation of early detection of early childhood growth and development can be increased. The activity was carried out at the Pratama Asih Waluyo Jati Clinic on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 09.00 to 15.00 with material about problems of child growth and development in Indonesia, the importance of monitoring children's growth and development, the participation of teachers and parents in child development, how to detect children's growth and how to detect a child's development. The methods used in this activity include lectures, questions and answers, and role-play. Most of the participants understood what early detection and stimulation of children's growth and development were. But about the types and ways of early detection that must be done many do not understand. The participant's lack of understanding about the types and methods of early detection of children when training has not been conducted is likely because since they have never attended training and there has been no socialization from the education office related to monitoring child development. After being given the material, the participants understood that the types of early detection were detection of growth, development, and mental-emotional. Stimulation is very important as a form of intervention so that the child's growth and development can take place optimally. Keywords: early childhood, stimulation, early detection, growth, development

Abstract

The potential of dates in the health sector has long been known. The benefits of consumption of dates, also affect mothers who are breastfeeding. The nutritional needs of infants up to the age of six months are obtained through breast milk. Sufficient milk production, both in quantity and quality, will determine the growth of the baby. Efforts to achieve optimal infant nutrition up to the age of six months can only be done through improving maternal nutrition. This illustrates that the food consumed by nursing mothers is very influential on the production of breast milk. Based on observations of breastfeeding mothers in the Sokaraja Kulon Village there are still many who do not know the benefits of dates on nursing mothers. The goal is to increase knowledge about the benefits of dates for nursing mothers, and increase milk production. The method of implementing community service is the provision of health education about the benefits of dates on breastfeeding with the method of learning by doing. The result is increased knowledge in mothers and increased milk production. Keywords: Dates, the benefits of dates

Abstract

The percentage of toddlers who are very short and short of age 0-59 months in Indonesia in 2018 is 11.5% and 19.3%. This condition increased from the previous year, namely the percentage of toddlers aged 0-59 months was very short at 9.8% and short toddlers at 19.8%. In the Special Region of Yogyakarta the incidence of stunting is also still quite high at 27.2%. In Sleman Regency the prevalence of nutritional status of toddlers was short and very short in 2017 an increase of 0.18% compared to 2016, from 11.81% to 11.99%. One of the factors causing Stunting in Sleman Regency is the lack of parental knowledge about giving the right complementary feeding, which causes toddlers to get less optimal nutrition. Identification of problems in depth such as difficulty in breastfeeding, reduced breastmilk syndrome, toddlers who are picky eater have not been done optimally and comprehensively. In addition, from the pre-test results conducted before educational activities, there were 56% of mothers under-five who did not understand the right complementary feeding for their children, most parents gave instant complementary feeding and bought complementary feedingin the market or baby porridge sales outlets. The activity was attended by 25 mothers who had children under the age of 24 months. To measure the success of this activity, pre-test and post-test were carried out. The result of devotion is that after participating in complementary feeding educational activities the level of knowledge of mothers about complementary feedinghas increased, before participating in the activity the number of mothers who have a high level of knowledge only 4% after participating in the activity increased to 44%. With increasing knowledge about complementary feedingit is expected that mothers can apply their knowledge in providing home made complementary feedingwith local materials that are in accordance with WHO and Unicef recommendations. Keywords: education, complementary feeding, home made

Abstract

Good nutrition in childhood is important, not only for health, growth and development of children but also for long-term health. Children need to eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods regularly, including fruits and vegetables. Lack of consumption of fruit and vegetables can increase the likelihood of constipation. A strategy is needed to support the development of children in the selection of variations of fruits and vegetables consumed, which can be done through nutrition counseling efforts in children especially children in kindergarten (kindergarten). In addition, modification of food based on fruits and vegetables is needed to improve children's appetite, so as to increase fiber intake in children in an effort to prevent constipation. Keywords: Children; Fruit; Constipation; Dietary habit; Vegetables.

Abstract

Accidents might happen anywhere, anytime, and to anyone. Primary school education is a period when children get very active in interacting with other peers. The interaction during a game might cause a risk of injuries on primary school students. Children often ignore the health condition of each other during the interaction. They have yet to own the analytical ability to identify if their friends conceive dangerous diseases, such as congenital heart disease, asthma, or other diseases. Free game interactions among primary school students such as running during the break or physically-related games might increase the risk for accidents or injuries within the school environment. Teachers are the closest people when children are at school. Teachers are demanded to have knowledge and skills in providing the first aid for their students who possibly experience accidents, injuries, or dangerous conditions, such as stopped breathing and cardiac arrest, which might happen during the school hours. The required skills are splinter dressing and/or basic life support. This activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skill of primary school teachers in providing first aid and for them to be capable of performing the basic life support. Coaching and counselling of Basic Life Support as well as splinter dressing were the conducted method. The result acquired from this community service showed that the good level of knowledge before the first aid counselling activity was 19.5%, which increased to 90.2% after the counselling activity. This study concluded that the knowledge of Primary School Teachers in Depok District of Sleman-Yogyakarta regarding First Aid has increased. Keywords: Accidents, Aid, First, Primary, School, Training,

Abstract

The development of information technology has brought changes in almost all aspects of human life. In the world of education improving the quality of teachers is something that must be done by the education unit, especially improving the skills of teachers in making information technology-based learning media. The aim is to improve the quality of learning processes and outcomes in schools. From the results of an interview with one of the teachers at SMPN 4 Karangmoncol Purbalingga, they have not maximized information technology to be used as a learning medium. They still use manual learning in class (calcical) so that one of the problems when the teacher has a meeting or need, the class becomes empty there is no teaching and learning process. Based on this, we are from community service trying to provide assistance in activities to improve the skills of teachers of SMPN 4 Karangmoncol in making information technology-based learning media. This training program can meet the needs of the community (teachers) in the scope of Karangmoncol Middle School 4 in order to improve the quality of teachers in Karangmoncol Middle School 4, especially in making information technology-based learning media. This training program is also carried out in order to succeed the government program for teachers so that they are literate in technology and apply it in the learning process which results in the effectiveness of achieving learning objectives. Keywords: improvement, skills, junior high school teachers and students, learning media, information technology.
