Abstract

Metisa plana is a pests that damage palm oil, which must be controlled because it can reduce the production of palm oil plantation. This research purpose to determine the benefit of tubal root extract as bioinsecticide for Metisa plana in the palm oil plantation. The research was conducted on January to April, 2017. The research was carried out at the Afdeling Alfa Nanuah Estate, PT Tanjung Sawit Abadi, Lamandau District, Central Kalimantan Province. The research was conducted using CRD one factor for mortality and time parameters. The treatment in the research was in the form of tubal root bioinsecticide application with three treatments, ie: A1 5 gr/100 ml of aquades; A2 10 gr/100 ml of aquades; and A3 15 gr/100 aquades. Each treatment was repeated three times so that there were nine experimental samples, while for toxicity parameters using a descriptive analysis design. The result showed that control using tubal root extract as a bioinsecticide of Metisa plana was more effective by using 15 gr/100 ml of aquades with a mortality time of five minutes and the number of Metisa plana that died 10 from each sample.

Abstract

This research purpose to obtain alternative method to increase flowering of palm oil during the cropping period, to determine the effect of midrib in the rorak towards flowering of palm oil, and to obtain the right number of midribs for composting in rorak. The research was conducted at Teaching Farm of Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Bekasi on October, 2016 to June, 2017. While laboratory analysis included analysis of soil, midrib, and urea fertilizer carried out in the Laboratory of the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The design used was a single-factor completely randomized design (CRD). There were five treatments tested: control (without rorak) (A0), 30 wet midribs + 1 kg urea (A1), 40 wet midribs + 1 kg urea (A2), 30 dry midribs + 1 kg urea (A3), and 40 dry midrib + 1 kg urea (A4). Each treatment was repeated twice and each replication consisted of two plant samples so that there were 20 units of experiment units. Data analysis used was ANOVA Test and BNT Advanced Test at the level of 5%. The results showed that the provision of oil palm midrib compost in rorak could be used as an alternative fertilizer in palm oil plantation, giving palm oil midrib compost in rorak significantly affected the number of oil palm male flowers at 3, 4 and 5 MAA. Whereas for the number of female flowers significantly affected only at 5 MAA, and the number of effective midribs to be used as compost seen from the morphological and physiological responses was 40 dry midribs + 1 kg urea (A4).

Abstract

This research aims to looked for the alternative of substitute growing medium of top soil that would be match for the growing of oil palm seedling in pre nursery and to get good dose for the growing medium. It came from a mixture of sub soil + piece of midrib for the growth of oil palm seedling in pre nursery. This research was conducted at Teaching Farm of Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Bekasi on January to May, 2018. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with one factor. There are four rates of the mixture midrib growth medium of sub soil + piece of midrib: 100% sub soil (A0), 75% sub soil + 25% piece of midrib (A1), 50% sub soil + 50% piece of midrib (A2), 25% sub soil + 75% piece of midrib (A3). Each treatments were two replications, and each replications consisted of 3 sample plants so the total unit of experiments were 24 plants. Data were analized with analysis of variance with α 5 %, If there is a significant treatment effect, the further analysis using DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test). The result showed that the growing medium which came from a mixture of sub soil + piece of midrib could be the substitute alternative of top soil in pre nursery of oil palm. The dose of the best growing medium was 25% sub soil + 75% piece midrib (A3) which could see from the parameters of plant hight, trunk girth, and dry weight plant.

Abstract

Verticulture is a vertical planting technique. This method never used for annual plant like oil palm seedlings. The physical condition of oil palm roots that still has short roots could be planted in verticulture system. The objectives of this research are: 1) to obtain alternative technique for planting of oil palm seedlings uses verticultur system; 2) to know the effect of verticultur system for oil palm seedlings in pre nursery; and 3) to know the method of making vertical shelf and watering using pump for oil palm seedlings in pre nursery. The research conducted at Teaching Farm II of Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Bekasi on February to July, 2018. The treatment was arranged in non factorial randomized block design with four replication and two treatment. First treatment is verticultur system (planting in vertical with pipe) and the second is planting horizontally (conventionally, using glass cup). There are 4 vertical shelves, and one shelves has 40 oil palm seedlings, so there are 160 seedlings that plant vertically. The number of oil palm seedlings in vertical shelves as same as in horizontal planting. The total number of seedlings are 320 seedlings. Data were analyzed in analysis of variance and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that: 1) verticultur system could be alternative method for oil palm seedling in pre nursery; 2) the application of verticultur system not significantly effect for morphological parameters, however based on physical observation, the morphological of seedlings that planted vertically is better than horizontal planting; and 3) the making of vertical shelves are made by arranging vertical paralon pipes on metal shelves, and installing ponds and water pumps under the shelves for watering oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

The horn beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros L.) bore oil palm shoots which resulted in inhibition of growth and destruction of the growing point so that the plant is deadly. Oryctes rhinoceros attack control is usually done manually with a lot of manpower required. One of the tools of controlling pests Oryctes rhinoceros is using a stick. This study aims to compare the work performance of manbosulfan application manually with stick. This research was conducted from March to May 2017 using observation method and application of stick tool design result. The research was conducted at PT Kayung Agro Lestari, Matan Hilir Utara, Ketapang, West Kalimantan. Research begins by designing a tool stick and making tool stick. Sticker tool made used for control of Oryctes rhinoceros. Application of active ingredients by using sticks can be more easily done on plants than manually, and plant height that is not uniform can be overcome with tool sticks that can be arranged in short length. Based on result of research, achievement of worker by using stick more efficient equal to 7,8 ha/HK compared to manual method 3 ha/HK.

Abstract

This research study purpose to determine whether there is a significant influence of motivation and work performance appraisal on employee job satisfaction at PT PA Rubber Indonesia Jaya. There are three hypotheses tested in this study. First there is a positive influence of motivation on employee job satisfaction, secondly there is a positive influence on job performance assessment on employee job satisfaction, thirdly there is a positive influence of motivation and work performance assessment together on employee job satisfaction. The population of this research were employees of the company, ie 160 people, while the sample was 114 people taken from the population randomly using simple random sampling technique. Data research instruments use three types of tools, namely questionnaires that use a likert scale. The questionnaire was prepared based on the construction of various theories. Data analysis was carried out at 95% confidence level. The result is significantly proven all the existing hypotheses. So the results of this study inform that the motivation and assessment of work performance variables are important factors in increasing employee job satisfaction at PT PA Rubber Indonesia Jaya.

Abstract

Replanting was needed for unproductive of the old palm oil plants and having production under 13/ton/ ha. Replanting aims to change the oldest plants to increase the production. Replanting could be done with chemical, mechanical, and manual methodes. This research aims to get the best alternative of replanting by using some type of herbicide active ingredients and to get the right kind of active material for replanting of oil palm plants. This research was conducted at Teaching Farm of Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Bekasi on October, 2016 to May, 2017. The experiment was arranged in a descriptive method with five treatments of herbicide active materials: Paraquat dichlorida (A1), Trishlophyr (A2), 2,4-Dimetil amina (A3), Glifosat (A4) and Metil metsulfuron (A5). The dose of herbicide was 200/ ml/plant. Each treatments were two replications, so the total unit of experiments were 10 plants. The result showed that the treatments of herbicide with activated materials Paraquat dichloride, Trichlopyr, 2,4-Dimetil amina, Glifosat, and Metil metsulfuron with dose of 200 ml/plant as an effective chemical method in oil palm replanting and the most effective type of active ingredient was glyphosate.

Abstract

Rainfall is one of the factors of oil palm growth. Rainfall analysis needs to be done in the determination of NPK fertilization schedule. Large rainfall for application of fertilizer is 60 – 300 mm/month, while the optimal amount is 100 – 200 mm/month. This study aims to determine the most appropriate time for the application of NPK fertilizers and to know the effect of rainfall on the application of NPK fertilizer. This research was conducted in April 2017 at PT Cisadane Sawit Raya, Labuhan Batu Regency, North Sumatera Province. The method used in the implementation of this study is descriptive analysis method that is by analyzing the data available and processed so that obtained a clear picture of the facts and the relationship between the phenomena studied. The parameters observed are the amount of rainfall in the last 5 years in PT Cisadane Sawit Raya plantation. The results show that the optimal time for NPK fertilizer application is in June with 112.5 mm/month rainfall for the first rotation and in December with rainfall 201.8 mm/month for second rotation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of Organizational Commitment (X1) and Job Satisfaction (X2) on Organizational Effectiveness (Y) using Organizational Citizenship Behavior (Z) as an intervening variable. The model used in this study is a model of causality or influence relationships. To examine the hypotheses proposed in this study, the analysis technique used is the path analysis. After testing and data analysis to test hypotheses proposed, this study offers the following conclusions: 1) the Organizational Commitment (X1) has smaller effect than the variable influence Job Satisfaction (X2) on Organizational Effectiveness (Y); 2) through Organizational Citizenship Behavior (Z), Organizational Commitment (X1) has smaller effect compare Job Satisfaction (X2) on Organizational Effectiveness (Y); and 3) Organizational Citizenship Behavior (Z) has a direct impact on the Organizational Effectiveness (Y).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Incentives (X1) and the work ethic (X2) and job satisfaction (Z) on employee performance (Y). Data were collected using an instrument of the four variables. Instrument calibration is performed to test the validity and reliability coefficient. Validity calculated using product moment coefficient, and reliability was calculated using Cronbach Alpha coefficients. The model used in this study is a model of causality or influence relationships. To test the hypothesis that will be proposed in this study, the technique of analysis to be used is the analysis Strip. The study concluded that: 1) the variable incentives (X1) has a direct influence on the performance (Y) of 0.586 or 58.6% greater than the work ethic variable (X2) is -0.136, or -13.6%. Thus, that variable incentives (X1) greater influence than the variable Work Ethic (X2) to Performance; and 2) a variable incentives (X1) through job satisfaction variables have an indirect effect on performance (Y) of 0.218 or 21.8% greater than the work ethic variable (X2) is -0.085, or 08.5%. Thus, that through job satisfaction variables, variable incentives (X1) greater influence than the variable Work Ethic (X2) on employee performance (Y).
