Abstract

The manufacturing industry in Indonesia is increasing along with the level of diverse human needs and triggering the development of technology, one of which is the machining process industry. Good product quality can be seen from the level of surface roughness, because surface roughness can affect performance related to the functional aspects of the product. In this study, analyzed the optimization of CNC milling parameters setting to surface roughness with 8 mm HSS end mill. S50C materials are widely used in manufacturing machinery such as mechanical base plate, gears, standart puch heads and other machine components. This research uses the Taguchi method. The Parameter used are spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut with coolant as a constant variabel. The optimum parameters for surface roughness is obtained as spindle speed of 1100 rpm, feed rate of 46 mm/min and 0.5 depth of cut. With a significance level of 0.1 indicating that spindle speed has a significance effect with a contribution of 38.41% followed by feed rate of 34.16%

Abstract

800LC-38A Centrifugal Pump is a very important pump in the 2x15 MW PLTU, PT. Industrial Area Dumai-Wilmar Group, Riau Province. Where the efficiency of the 2x15 MW power plant is quite influenced by this pump. The 800LC-38A Centrifugal Pump functions as a cooling water circulation at the 2x15 MW PLTU so that productivity at the 2x15 MW PLTU runs smoothly. The aim is to explain the damage that occurs and be able to perform maintenance and repairs to the pump. Maintenance measures at the 800LC-38A Centrifugal pump are Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance. The problem that occurs in this pump is the reduced pump capacity and high vibration. While damage occurred to pump components such as pump shafts, shaft sleeves and casings which were corroded, teflon / guide bearings were damaged, and pump impellers were cracked due to cavitation on the pump. Maintenance carried out on the 800LC-38A Centrifugal pump in the form of checking the condition of the bearing, checking vibration and lubrication. The repairs made to the pump shaft that is corroding is by metalizing, for the case of the pump that is corroded can be overcome by coating / coating, shaft sleeve that is corroding and the impeller which is cracked due to cavitation cannot be repaired but a component replacement must be done.

Abstract

The hydraulic system in a dump truck that consists of several components requires a planned maintenance action, so that the hydraulic system can function optimally. The purpose of writing is to be able to do damage analysis and can take corrective actions appropriately and correctly. The analytical method in the analysis of maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems is to use several questions, namely what, why, where and how. The main components of dump truck hydraulic systems that require maintenance are hydraulic tanks, pumps, valves, actuators, filtration and hydraulic hose, while the main causes of damage from hydraulic system components are due to poor hydraulic oil cleanliness, contamination in the system, and overload ( over load). To overcome the damage that occurs is by implementing management care and repair that is correct, planned and in accordance with the SOP.

Abstract

A shot blasting machine is a cleaning machine for casting products with a steel ball shooting mechanism from the impeller/blast wheel rotation's centrifugal force. As the main machine in the final process of casting production activities, the decrease in machine reliability has a negative impact on the production system. Currently, the production equipment maintenance strategy at PT ABC is still implementing corrective maintenance, which is unplanned and reactive when a machine malfunction occurs. It resulted in high production loss and increased maintenance costs. Therefore, the shot blasting machine's maintenance strategy should be changed to a type of preventive maintenance. This study aims to plan preventive maintenance (PM) system for the shot blasting machines of PT. ABC, such as creating PM schedule, calculating machine downtime, and technician needs for each PM activity. PM system planning is achieved using the ISMO (Inspection, Small repair, Medium repair, and Overhaul) method. Its method was conducted in several stages, which start with identifying machine objects, making PM work specifications, determining the value of mark complexity and maintenance cycle, calculating machine downtime and technician needs. Then making schedules annual and monthly, and several other maintenance documents. The mechanism for determining the complexity value is determined based on the similarity of the HP Garg methodology's machine specifications. Finally, The planning of the shot blasting machine PM system has been successfully done, some of the PM information obtained are (i) the machine maintenance cycle is C - I1 - I2 - S1 - I3 - I4 - M1 - I5 - I6 - S2 - I7 - I8 - M2 - I9 - I10 - S3 - I11 - I12 - C, (ii) the time interval between maintenance activities is one month, (iii) machine downtime for each shot blasting machine, (iV) the number and level of maintenance technicians required in every ISMO activity for drum shot, batch shot and hanger shot machines. The calculating verification of the shot blasting machine's availability value on the proposed PM schedule shows that machine availability increased to more than 80%.

Abstract

The development of the industrial world regarding electricity supply is in great demand at the moment,converter is used to lower and increase the voltage obtained from the changing input generated during regenerative braking,with a motor made by BLDC as a propulsion owned and then developed by regenerative braking with this regulator compiling the installed input changes can be used to reduce and conquer obtained when regenerative braking is done with output 40 volts, the voltage sensor will be given an output voltage with Arduino as the controller. at an output voltage between 39-40 volts, this voltage can be used to charge the battery.

Abstract

The implementation of Quick Response (QR) Code to share or store information increased widely. QR code can quickly provide a data or information such as contact person, plain text, URLs or other data by scan a QR code using smartphone camera. The raised of QR code implementation must to be follow by a level of data security. In this journal we will discuss a number of processes that can be used to improve data security in QR codes. In computer science there are several terms related to data protection i.e. Cryptography and Steganography. Cryptography focuses on securing information in the data exchange process. Steganography is a process of hiding information into an object that cannot be detected by anyone without a steganographic key. With these two processes i.e. cryptography and steganography or a combination of both, the data embedded in the QR code will not be easy to translate. The method that will be discussed is Speck Algorithm encryption and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with a combination of Steganography. Both methods succeed in converting confidential information into data that is not easily recognized. Confidential information that goes through a steganographic process becomes difficult to detect and gives the wrong message to a third party.

Abstract

Weir is a controlling and monitoring tool of all water governance and also as an anticipation of flooding. The weir is used to address the amount of water discharge that potentially creates flooding in an area. Flooding occurs with high rainfall, with high bulk resulting in the water height of the weir steadily increasing drastically. The design of the overview was developed into two parts, Namely the Internet of Thing-based monitoring system using smartphones and controlling debit by moving the water door. To move the water door is based on the water height and calculate the discharge of the outgoing water. The controller as the main controller to separate the data to compute the prediction and run the water door opening control algorithm. The architecture of a synthetic neural network 5-8-1 which uses a hidden layer of eight nodes and one output. The Backpropagation method can classify the floodgates with an accuracy value of 91.78% in the training process. In testing results resulted in an error value of 12.98%.

Abstract

Current technology advances situation are inline with electrical energy demand, but this is not inline with the availability of resources that produces electrical energy, in order to that it requires an energy conservation to increase efficiency and optimization of a power plant so it can support increasing of electricity demand. This paper gives a feasibility analysis of heat energy conservation from geothermal power plant waste heat as a main power plant. With using Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) System with Iso-Butene as a working fluid, by calculating heat balance of the ORC cycle, until getting enthalpy and entropy value of the system, thus we can calculating the energy can produce by expansion turbine which drive the generator, with result of this paper is the additional energy produce by ORC system..

Abstract

This paper discusses the failure that occurred on the right front drive shaft of a vehicle with the specification of S45C medium carbon steel material. The right front drive shaft receives several dynamic loads and torque so it must be strong to endure stress [1]. The right front drive shaft shows that there is an initial crack which causes the brittle fracture overload and is caused by sudden external loads. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors causing the failure and to provide a solution if a similar case occurs in components with the same material. Keywords: Front drive shaft right car, carbon steel medium S45C, brittle fracture over load, sudden impact load.

Abstract

Damage to the conrod bearing on the main engine of the fast ship due to material design, increased overheating of the engine cooling system (overheat) and operation. To identify the cause of damage, several tests were carried out such as macro-visual observation, chemical composition analysis, micro hardness with vickers, fractography, metallography, and coating thickness measurements. The results of the analysis have overheating and deforming of the conrod bearing due to rubbing against the connecting rod and there is friction on the edge of the groove, and there is no babbit layer found because the layer has melted (liquid phase) at a temperature of 354 ° C according to the ASTM B23-00 2014 babbit metal standard and the back steel layer is deformed.
