Abstract

Pineapple Jam Quality Quality is determined by CMC concentration factors and cooking time. This study aims to study the effect of the addition of CMC and the length of cooking on the quality of pineapple jam so that it can be accepted by consumers. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Processing, Faculty of Agriculture, Alkhairaat University Palu and Agro-Industry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tadulako Palu. This research was conducted using factorial experiments arranged in a Randomized Block Design with three replications. The first factor of CMC concentration consisted of treatments C1 = 0.5%, C2 = 1.0%, and C3 = 1.5%. The second factor is the length of cooking, namely drying T1 = 20 minutes, T2 = 25 minutes and T = 30 minutes. The data obtained were analyzed by variance, followed by the BNJ test at the 0.05% level with the parameters of the test of amendment, moisture content, ash content, dietary fiber content, vitamin C, total acid content, and organoleptic test. The results showed that the best combination was found in 0.5% CMC concentration with 20 minutes cooking time. The treatment characteristics of 0.5% CMC concentrations with a cooking duration of 20 minutes resulted in better pineapple jams including water content (46.60%), ash content (0.86%), vitamin C (14.30%), and organoleptic levels the best for the aroma of pineapple jam on the treatment of 0.5% CMC concentration with a cooking duration of 20 minutes obtained the highest panelist assessment score of (4.72) with the "very like" hedonic scale.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain solutions in the potential development of botanical pesticides, cheaper, easier to come by, do not damage the environment and are not toxic. In addition, to determine the effect of the most effective ways against death of Siput Murbei  (P. canaliculata). Research carried out for two months, in the area Lempake Village, District of North Samarinda, Samarinda. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments were repeated four (4) times, namely: Without giving jengkol skin or controls (a0), chopped jengkol skin 1 kg plot-1 or 2500 kg ha-1 (a1) , mashed jengkol skin 1 kg plot-1 or 2500 kg ha-1 (a2), soaked jengkol skin 1 kg plot-1 or 2500 kg ha-1 (a3). Results of the research indicated that: (1). Jengkol (Phitecolobium lobatum) fruit skin can be used as a plant-based pesticides to kill pests Siput Murbei (Pomaceaecanaliculata). (2). Without     jengkol friut skin (a0) no one died and suffered breeding, whereas rind jengkol given on day 15 died. (3). jengkol friut skin giving way most effective is soaked, because of the rapid death rate, ie 8.36 days, 8.67 days chopped, pounded and 9.17 days. Thus jengkol fruit skin effective in killing Siput Murbei.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the village of Sukamaju in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, PT Melapi Timber and PT INHUTANI I Long Well, which includes observation, the conduct of research and data collection. The object of this study was people or companies that commercialize three plants of Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla), Red Meranti (Shorea leprosula) and Parica (Schizolobium amazonicum) of various ages (4, 8, 15 and 17 years).Analysis of the data include: Analysis of Linear Programming and SWOT analysis. Results of the research showed that: (1) The optimal revenue of forest plantation industry is Rp2.739.503.000,-, this means that if the head of the family has a land area of 15 ha, the income per month is Rp4.082.469,- or Rp204.123,- per hectare. (2) An optimal income of forest plantation industry achieved with the combination of Red Meranti plants 5 ha, Parica 5 ha and Mahogany 5 ha, means that each family has a land area of 15 ha. (3) The remaining input supply all used up. (4) An income sensitivity interval shows that the optimal reception will not change if the increase or decrease in receipts of Red Meranti, Parica and Mahogany happened to the limit specified intervals, increase or decrease the income is influenced by the price of timber in the market (5) Cost of production used to achieve optimal revenue amounted Rp790.997.000,-. Production costs in the construction of HTR ranges between 40-60 million IDR per hectare, whereas the standards costs set by the government is smaller at only 9-12 million IDR per hektar. (6) Sensitivity interval of input supplies of manure, harvesting and thinning, and (7) From the SWOT analysis: the things to be done by the stakeholders are working together to minimize the weaknesses that exist and to face the threat, in addition also to manage the power to increase the opportunities.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted in Leuwikopo, Dramaga, Bogor, Indonesia to study the effect of soil and foliar applications of nitrogen+potassium fertilizer on waterleaf shoot (Talinum triangulare (Jacq.) Willd) physiological aspect and production. A randomized complete block design was used with 3 replications and 4 treatments. The treatments were different rates of N+K for soil application with or without foliar application, they were 100% N+K rates of soil application (150 kg urea + 150 kg KCl/ha); 100, 75, and 50% N+K rates of soil application added with foliar application of 0.2% urea and 0.1% KCl. Fertilizers were applied on soil on 0, 30, and 60 days after planting, while foliar applications were conducted on 15, 30, 45, and 60 days after planting. The result showed that the highest production of waterleaf shoot were produced by 100% soil application of N+K at 75 days after planting (117.04 g/plant); chlorophyll and sugar content was not influenced by all the treatments in vegetative fase.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the suitability of Cilembu sweet potato land. Land suitability assessment in this study was carried out by a method of matching between crop productivity and land characteristics as parameters with land suitability class criteria that have been prepared based on usage requirements or growing requirements of plants or other commodities evaluated. The results showed that 33% of the area in Sumedang district was physically very suitable for planting Cilembu sweet potato which covers the area of origin of Cilembu sweet potato as well as the surrounding area and areas in the north of the district. High yam productivity is found in the west of the district, including the area of origin of Cilembu sweet potatoes and their surroundings. The relationship of land suitability between Cilembu yam and productivity of Cilembu yam is shown by the alignment areas that are in harmony, (-), not suitable (+) and not suitable. The alignment areas that need attention are the aligned (-) and non-aligned (+) regions.

Abstract

Indonesia is now importing the fruits in quantities large enough to meet food needs, but each region in Indonesia has the potential of local fruit with high nutritional value. South Kalimantan is one of the areas rich in biological resources, including exotic fruits. Exotic fruits have not been widely known and most have not been used optimally. Based on its chemical characteristics of South Kalimantan's exotic fruits show potential for development as refined products in order to develop agroindustry and also for the development of functional food sources that are beneficial to health. Fruit is examined in this study include kasturi, mangosteen, balangkasua, kapul, kakalayu, ramania, gitaan mata kucing and katiau. Preliminary analysis conducted on nutrition of fruit, including analysis of water content, fat, protein, ash, fiber, carbohydrates, total acid, and vitamin C. Test results showed the typical exotic fruits contain fiber and vitamin C is quite good, the fruits can be studied further as a source of functional food. Most of the fruit pulp at small amount and hard to eat so there is potential for utilization as well the skin and seeds of fruit.
