Abstract

Catchy Word is a word-based visual aid designed to facilitate the communication process for children with verbal disabilities. Children with ASD often have difficulty communicating effectively, which can impact their social interactions and emotional development. This study used observation and interview methods with teachers at ACT Surabaya, and observed the development of communication in children with ASD who used Catchy word. The results showed that the use of Catchy Word helped improve verbal communication skills, but was less than optimal in improving the non- verbal abilities of children with ASD, this is because children with ASD have delays in providing information. Catchy Word provides them with an alternative to express themselves better. The implementation of this method also encourages increased participation of children with ASD in learning and movement activities. The conclusion of this study is that Catchy Word can be an effective solution in overcoming communication challenges in children with ASD.

Abstract

The research with the title “The Role of Education and Science in the Digital Age in theperspective of Norman Fairclough's Critical Thinking Teaching” is motivated by the challengesfaced by the world of education and science in the increasingly complex digital era, which is notonly in the form of competition for express teaching models, but also human interest in falsetruths and information. The critical thinking teaching method offered by Fairclough opens newhorizons for the world of education and science so as not to be trapped by offers ofsophistication and sophistication alone, because developments in the digital era are alsorealized to have a negative impact on humans. This research is qualitative research using theliterature method. The formal object in this research is Norman Fairclough's critical thinkingteaching method, while the material object used in this research is the basic concept ofeducation and science. After conducting a search in this study, the results obtained are (1) theformulation of critical thinking on the concepts of education and science (2) finding the role ofeducation and science of education in the digital era by involving five basic concepts initiatedby Fairclough, namely action, context, history, power and ideology.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the inner structure in the poem “Bersyukur Kau tidak Lahir dari Hujan” by Ahmad Nurullah and the intrinsic structure in the short story "Bersyukur" by Sudut Kamar. This research method is a descriptive method related to the subject matter that will be researched and obtained from research data. The approach used is an intertextual approach. The technique used in data collection is literature study and data analysis techniques using content analysis techniques. The results of research show that the similarities between this short story and poetry are in the theme, namely the theme of gratitude and the same mandate to let each other go for something that we do not yet have, then God will replace it with something unexpected. The difference between poetry and short stories lies in the feeling and setting.

Abstract

Vigilantism, as a phenomenon of law enforcement carried out by non-authoritative individuals or groups independently, has attracted attention in the study of criminal psychology. This article analyzes the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye, which explores the dynamics of power, corruption, and crime in the society of Indonesia's capital city. The novel shows power corruption is rampant in various walks of life, while vigilantism emerges as a form of resistance to injustice. However, these vigilante actions are often extrajudicial, creating a spiral of violence and uncertainty, and raising questions about accountability and fair law enforcement. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis, identifying the dominant themes and dynamics of power, corruption, and crime in the novel. The results highlight the moral conflict behind vigilantism, as well as its social impact in the context of a corrupt society.

Abstract

This research explains the domination of compulsion in the culture of captive marriage contained in the novel entitled “Perempuan yang Menangis Kepada Bulan Hitam” by Dian Purnomo as a form of representation related to the culture of the Sumbanese people through the lens of Karl Marx's hegemony. The aim of this research is to determine the form of domination of the structural role of the strong upper class over the subaltern class in the form of violence and coercion. This research refers to the use of descriptive qualitative methods using Karl Marx's theory of hegemony with intensive listening techniques. The results of the research show that there is the influence of Karl Marx's hegemony and the cultural practice of captive marriage in the novel “Perempuan yang Menangis Kepada Bulan Hitam”. Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out the language errors in the article entitled implementation of this research focuses on the character of Selena who struggles to balance her id, ego, and superego. The aim of this research is to examine the id, ego, and superego within the character of Selena. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with secondary data sources (the novel “Selena”). The results of this scientific paper show several pieces of evidence that the character of Selena experiences an inability to balance her id, ego, and superego. This research provides insight that all humans have their own id, ego, and superego, and not all humans can stabilize these three aspects. Keywords: id, ego, and superego

Abstract

Film is a medium that is often used to convey moral messages to its audience. One of the controversialmovies in the context of moral values is “Siksa Kubur” by Joko Anwar. This film is based on achildhood incident experienced by the main character Sita and Adil who had a trauma over the deathof his parents due to a suicide bombing carried out by a man who claimed to record the sound of gravetorment, since then Sita has a great distrust of religion. This study aims to analyze the moral valuescontained in the film. The qualitative analysis method is used to identify and evaluate the moralmessages conveyed through narration, character, and conflict in the movie. The results showed that“Siksa Kubur” raised complex themes, one of which was the element of morality. This research isexpected to provide a deeper understanding of how movies can influence the perception and moralattitudes of their audiences, as well as their relevance in the context of Indonesian culture and society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perwujudan identitas diri Wanga sebagai tokoh utama dan resonansi emosional pada pembaca yang terjalin melalui pendalaman karakter tokoh novel Si Anak Savana karya Tere Liye. Metode yang digunakan yakni kualitatif deskriptif yang menghasilkan penjabaran data berupa deskripsi kompleks. Sumber data primer yang digunakan adalah novel fiksi bergenre self improvement dan friendship yang berjudul Si Anak Savana karya Tere Liye. Data yang digunakan berupa kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang dinilai relevan dengan bukti perwatakan asli tokoh yang menunjukkan identitas diri tokoh Wanga serta situasi pemicu resonansi emosional pembaca. Sumber data sekunder diperoleh dari buku, artikel, atau jurnal yang sesuai dengan teori psikososial Erikson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa identitas diri tokoh Wanga dibagi menjadi tiga dimensi: 1) identitas diri, membuktikan bahwa tokoh Wanga berkarakter setia kawan, cerdik, bertanggungjawab dan patuh kepada orang tua; 2) identitas keluarga, membuktikan bahwa tokoh Wanga memiliki keluarga yang harmonis dan berkecukupan; 3) identitas sosial, membuktikan bahwa tokoh Wanga merupakan anak yang memiliki kepedulian tinggi terhadap lingkungan di Kampung Dopu. Selanjutnya resonansi emosional pembaca terhadap novel Si Anak Savana karya Tere Liye dapat dicapai melalui beberapa bukti situasi yang diklasifikasikan menjadi: (1) keterhubungan dengan alam, (2) ikatan persahabatan, (3) perjuangan dan ketangguhan, dan (4) harapan dan optimisme. Kata kunci: eksplorasi identitas, resonansi emosional, psikososial

Abstract

The play script “Domba Domba Revolusi” by Bambang Soelarto contains many signs related to women, especially related to the revolution. For this reason, the purpose of this research is to describe the signs contained in the play script related to signs related to women in the play script “Domba-domba Revolusi”. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative using Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory. The data in this study are phrases, words, or sentences that contain signs in the drama script and are obtained by reading, listening, and recording techniques. The results of this study found that the signs contained in the play are related to the meaning of women, struggle, and socio-politics, among others: women’s independence, women and past trauma, women’s courage, including signs related to women’s self-esteem. This research shows that women in the revolutionary period had independence and a central role, not only subject to social construction but able to make their own decisions and influence their surroundings in accordance with the spirit of the revolution.

Abstract

This research discusses about the use of Smart Hippo Talk as a speech theraphy medium to enhance the speaking skills of children with mild autism at PL PDBK Semarang. The research is using qualitative descriptive method with data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The assessment of speaking abilities was based on the SCERTS model, which focuses on social communication, emotional regulation, and transactional support. The results indicated an improvement in both verbal and nonverbal communication after the use of Smart Hippo Talk. Participants showed increased eye contact, the ability to follow instructions, and began producing simple words and babbling. Additionally, the tool provided practical benefits for therapists by reducing the repetition of instructions through recorded voice features. These findings suggest that Smart Hippo Talk is a beneficial innovation to support speech therapy for children with mild autism.
