Abstract

 The purpose of this study is to know: 1) the effect of certification on the performance of accounting teachers in Senior High School (SMA) Kota Cilegon; 2) the influence of career development on the performance of high school accounting teachers in Cilegon City; 3) the influence of certification and career development together towards the performance of accounting teachers in SMA Kota Cilegon. The method used is a survey of all high school accounting teachers in Cilegon City. Number of samples counted 48 people. Based on the research results can be concluded: (1) There is a significant influence between teacher certification with job satisfaction of accounting teachers in Cilegon City; (2) there is a significant influence between career development with job satisfaction of accounting teacher in Cilegon City; and (3) there is a significant influence between teacher certification and career development on accounting teacher accounting satisfaction in Cilegon City.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of: 1)  organizational culture on the organizational commitment of private Vocational high School (SMK) teachers in Serang; 2) interpersonal communication on the commitment of the organization of private SMK teachers in Serang; 3)  organizational culture and interpersonal communication on the organization's commitment of private SMK teachers in Serang; 4) organizational culture on the performance of private SMK teachers in Serang; 5)  interpersonal communication on the performance of private SMK teachers in Serang; 6) organizational commitment to the performance of private SMK teachers in Serang; and 7) the influence of organizational culture, interpersonal communication, and organizational commitment to the performance of private SMK teachers in Serang. The study used a survey research with 92 sample research. Data were taken by using questionnaire and analyzed using structure equation model (SEM). The results are as follows. First, organizational culture and interpersonal communication individually and together positively and significantly influence the teacher's commitment to private SMK organization in Serang. Second, organizational culture, interpersonal communication, and organizational commitment have positive and significant influence both individually and collectively on the performance of private SMK teachers in Serang.

Abstract

  This study aims to identify the authentic assessment forms used in learning critical reading of texts exposition. In this research, using qualitative methods with this kind of phenomenology. The results of this research is the description of the form of the process assessment and the results assessment are used in learning to  read critically of exposition text. The process assessment in the form of a attitude journal to know the attitude of learners in learning. Indicators in this attitude journal included spiritual attitudes and social attitudes. the results assessment in the learning are used to determine the success of learners in understanding of exposition text. The assessment instrument made corresponding with SK, KD, and indicators of learning. The use of authentic assessment is impressive in learning to read critically is not implemented by all teachers. Understanding of learners tend to be determined globally.

Abstract

This correlational study aims at seeing the effect of leadership style and motivation towards employee performance.  A number of 53 sample was selected from General and Finance Bureau at Lampung University.  Data were collected using questionnaire and were analyzed using multiple linier regression with the help of SPSS 17.0 statistical software.  Result of hypothesis testing shows t-value = 2.374 and t-table = 1.67655.  In addition, for the motivation variable on employee performance reveals t-value = 7.283 and t-table = 1.67655. The simultaneous testing altogether obtained statistical results of  F-value for 40.288 and F-table = 3.18.  The evidence means that there is a significant effect either partially or simultaneously between the leadership style and motivation on  employee performance of the General and Finance Bureau of Lampung University.

Abstract

  The purposes of this study are to identify the dynamics of geography learning in SMA Negeri 9 Takalar, and to describe what factors are to be supporters of the quality of geography learning in SMA Negeri 9 Takalar. This study used a qualitative approach involving teachers at SMAN 1 Takalar as informants.  The results showed that the dynamics of learning geography are of  less conducive in terms a) learners are less involved in the learning process, b) teachers of geography subject facilitate and motivate learners in the learning process at the minimum degree, c) the teachers do not develop models of innovative learning, and d) in the learning process, teachers rely much on teacher-centered approach. In addition, factors supporting the quality of learning of geography comprise of a) teachers and learners collaborate for the achievement of improved learning outcomes, b) multiple sources a reading and video learning about learning models and developed in geography learning have been used, and c) the teacher is able to understand the characteristics of learners by using a learning model in variety  and innovative manners.

Abstract

  This study aims to see the improvement to understand challenge text of the ninth graders of SMPN 1 Karangploso using STAD of cooperative learning method. This study used classroom action research assigning 31 students consisting of 14 male and 17 female students. This research implemented two cycles each of which applied planning, implementing, observing and reflection. The results showed that the ability to understand the text of the challenge increased in cycle 1. Distribution of students accomplishment are 10 (33.33%) low, 15 (48.39%) moderate, and 6 (19.35%) high. In cycle 2, students accomplishment are satisfied as no low scores are achieved. Middle scores are gained by 17 (54,83%) having a score range of 78-84, and 14 (45.16%) achieved very good score ranging from 85-100.  Attainment of students activities during the class has also increased from 65% to 82% showing that STAD method evidently improves students attainment on challenge text.

Abstract

  This study examines how cooperative learning using STAD improves attainment and students classroom activities in learning math. This study used classroom actions research with three cycles and involved 32 ninth graders of SMPN 1 Karangploso Malang.  The results evidently show that scores increase from cycle to cycle and so do the learning activities.  Respectively, scores achieving minimum achievement (KKM) from cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III are 18.75%, 68.75%, and 81.24%.   Similarly, classroom activities identified with the mean percentage increase from cycle to cycle as follows: 60.94%, 74.48%, and 84,42%.  It implies that STAD, in particular, is effective in teaching math and other lessons for SMP, provided indicators to evaluate learning activities are based on the criteria used in this study.

Abstract

  This study examines how reading in Javanese short story is improved by the mastery of Javanese vocabulary.  The study used Classroom Action Research that implemented two cycles, each of which consisted of three meetings.  The research was conducted in the ninth graders of SMPN 8 Surakarta involving 32 students. The results who that students improve their ability in reading comprehension of Javanese short story substantially.  Results of test comprehension on reading Javanese short story, task to evaluate short study aspects applied fro Javanese short story and effectiveness of classroom activities improve at two cycles, gaining minimum criteria of score that is higher than 75 and classical teaching of 85%.   It implies that the function of Javanese vocabulary is pivotal to improve students mastery in reading Javanese texts and provide patterns of how Javanese is implemented.
