Abstract

Learning Javanese during the Covid-19 pandemic experienced several challenges. On the one hand, it is hoped that this lesson will remain strong as an entry point for the inheritance of noble character through language preservation. While on the other hand, learning Javanese, like a common phenomenon that is also faced by other subjects in schools in Indonesia, is experiencing difficulties due to online learning. This study reveals the phenomena, obstacles, and opportunities of learning Javanese, although in some cases it can also be generalized to other subjects. The design of this study was qualitative, using questionnaires and interviews with parents. This research shows that with the various difficulties faced in learning during the pandemic, face-to-face meetings and conventional learning such as the period before the Covid-19 pandemic were considered irreplaceable. However, our elaboration study shows something else. Learning that is more flexible and involves information technology should be paid more attention to equip students to develop more.

Abstract

This study aims at testing hypotheses formulated from theoretical studies. The hypotheses stated that the thesis supervisor, gender, and motivation affected the length of the thesis writing process and the Grade Point Average (henceforth: GPA), as well as impacting the study period. It is a quantitative research using mediation effect analysis (path analysis methods). In this study, there was no sampling as all populations were taken as respondents. Respondents in this study were 98 students of the Javanese education study program, Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University, Indonesia (PPBJ FBS UNY). The results showed that there was no significant influence of thesis consultation processes and motivation on the length of the thesis writing, there was no significant influence of thesis supervisor and motivation using the length of the thesis writing period on the study period, and there was no significant influence between gender and motivation of gaining higher GPA, however, yet, there was a significant direct influence of gender on GPA and motivation of gaining higher GPA, there was no significant influence of gender and motivation using GPA on the study period, however, there was a significant direct influence of gender on the study period, and there was a significant direct influence of the length of the thesis writing and GPA on the study period. Related to the findings of the research above, it is necessary to make various efforts so that students' intrinsic motivation is more awakened so that learning achievement will be better, and thesis duration and the study period is shorter.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of Javanese script multimedia based on local wisdom. This multimedia was developed using the RnD research method with the ADDIE model. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data obtained were validated by material experts, media experts, teachers, response questionnaires, and assessment of reading Javanese script. The research subjects were 5th-grade students of SD Negeri Kesugihan. The data analysis technique used was inferential quantitative data analysis technique. The results are: (1) Javanese script multimedia products can be used as reference sources and media in learning, (2) the results of the feasibility test consist of: a) material expert validation gets 95.83% (very feasible), b) media experts validation got 91.1% (very decent), c) teacher practitioners score got 95.6% (very decent), d) students responses in a limited trial got 93.3% (very practical); students responses in the wide trial obtained 90% (very practical), e) the assessment of the ability to read Javanese script in the limited trial obtained 81.6% (good criteria) and in the broad trial obtained 82% (good) criteria. Multimedia Javanese script based on local wisdom is a solution for Javanese script learning’s problems in the technological era and can be used as a support in delivering learning materials in class.

Abstract

Educational assessment is a process of collecting and processing information to measure the achievement of student learning outcomes. An assessment process that is carried out properly can have an impact on the learning process and can be a reference in determining further policies. The accuracy of the selection of the assessment method will greatly affect the objectivity and validity of the assessment results which in the end are objective and valid information on the quality of education. On the other hand, errors in selecting and applying assessment methods also result in invalid information regarding learning and educational outcomes. One of the competencies that must be mastered by prospective educators is an understanding of the process of assessing student learning outcomes, both theoretically and practically. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the extent to which the objectives of the Java Language Learning Evaluation lecture have been achieved, particularly in learning outcomes to study and select assessment techniques based on the basic competencies measured. This research was conducted at PGRI University Semarang, with the data source being 19 students in the 4th (fourth) semester of the Regional Language and Literature Education Study Program. The data in this study is the ability of students to examine and select or determine assessment techniques based on the measured basic competencies. Data collection techniques used are test and non-test techniques. Based on the data that has been collected, it is analyzed using the interactive analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman model which consists of the stages of data reduction (data reduction), data presentation (data display), and conclusion drawing/verification. Meanwhile, to measure the achievement of the objectives of the implementation of the Javanese Language Learning Evaluation course, a goals-oriented program evaluation model was used. The results showed that most of the students had a good understanding of the application of various types of learning outcomes assessment techniques, namely 57.8% of students got a score of 100, 31.5% of students got a score of 94, 5.2% of students got 89 and 5, 2% of students got 78. Moreover, in the psychomotor or skill domain, the results showed that 41.2% of students got a score of 100, 42.1% of students got a score of 75, and 16% of students got a score of 50.

Abstract

Sedulur Sikep Sukolilo Pati still holds the theory of laku sikep as a guide to their daily life. One of the theories is not sending their children to formal schools. They believed that formal schools will change the behavior that they have been holding. It also makes formal education unable to be felt by Sedulur Sikep Sukolilo Pati until now. Research data in the form of materials, media, learning resources, methods, and evaluation of learning. Source of research data, namely piwulang Jawa learning instructor. Data collection methods use participatory observation and unstructured interviews. Data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study are Javanese piwulang learning components for the children of Sedulur Sikep Sukolilo Pati consist of materials, media, learning resources, methods, and learning evaluation. Piwulang Jawa learning material, including knowledge material, attitude material, and skill material. Piwulang Jawa learning media, namely visual media (inanimate objects and living things). Learning resources in piwulang Jawa, include learning resources from humans, learning resources from materials, and learning resources from the environment. Piwulang Jawa learning methods include lecture method, question and answer method, assignment method, practice method, and exploring method. There are two evaluations of piwulang Jawa learning, namely process evaluation, and outcome evaluation.

Abstract

Textbooks must comply with the BSNP assessment criteria, one of which is the contextual dimension. Overall, the Javanese language textbook entitled Basa Jawa Trampil ing Basa Trapsila ing Bawa which is used in SMP Negeri 1 Ngawi was not in accordance with the real-life context in Ngawi Regency. This study aims to describe the contextual form of the material in the Basa Jawa Trampil ing Basa Trapsila ing Bawa textbook. A descriptive qualitative approach is used as a research approach. The data collection technique is reading, sorting, and note-taking techniques. The source of the research data was Basa Jawa Trampil ing Basa Trapsila ing Bawa textbook. The research instrument used data cards. The data validation technique used triangulation of data sources. Based on the results of the contextual analysis of place and environment, the six materials contained in the book are in accordance with the benchmarks for the contextuality of place and environment and found 21 data in the form of one picture and 20 quotes. In the contextual context, five pieces of data were found in the form of four quotations and one picture, while in the environmental context, that divided into three spheres; the personal sphere (six quotations), the social sphere (six quotations), and the cultural sphere (four quotations). It is sufficient to say that this book is contextually based on Ngawi Regency because it provides various materials that are in accordance with the contextual indicators of place and environment materials.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the intrinsic elements in the novel Mitra Sejati by Tulus Setiyadi and the educational values ​​in the novel Mitra Sejati by Tulus Setiyadi. This type of descriptive qualitative research. The data sources for the novel Mitra Sejati by Tulus Setiyadi and the data for this study are quotes that contain intrinsic elements and educational values. Data collection techniques used library techniques and note-taking techniques. The instrument used by the researcher himself was the main instrument. The validity of the data used triangulation of sources, researchers, and theories. The analysis of this research uses an interactive analysis model. The technique of presenting the results of the analysis used the informal presentation method. The results found (1) intrinsic elements include: (a) the theme of the novel Mitra Sejati is friendship and the struggle of two children in continuing their education (b) The characters and characterizations consist of the main characters, namely Arga and Bayu, the additional characters are Pak Karyo, Ratih, Mbok Suminah, Mas Guntur, Mbah Kromo, Budhe Tumi, Indri, Nuning, Raras (c) The plot used is a forward plot (d) The setting consists of place setting, time setting, and socio-cultural setting (e) The point of view used is the point of view the third person's point of view is omniscient. (2) educational values ​​consist of: (a) the value of religious education includes 2 (two) aspects (b) the value of moral education includes 2 (two) aspects and (c) the value of cultural education includes 2 (two) aspects. In this study, it was concluded that the researcher only examined the intrinsic elements and educational values ​​of the Mitra Sejati novel by Tulus Setiyadi.

Abstract

In learning at school, sometimes teachers find it difficult to explain and teach the tembang dolanan due to the lack of teaching materials that explain details about it. The purpose of this study was to determine the teacher's needs for the development of enrichment books, compile a prototype for the development of enrichment books, and describe the results of the expert validation test on the development of enrichment books. This research was conducted using an R&D approach from Borg & Gall. The target sources data are students, teachers, media experts, and material experts. Data collection techniques are interview techniques and filling out questionnaires. The results of this study include (1) the analysis of teacher needs for the development of enrichment books on the material (tembang dolanan), that teachers want interesting complementary teaching materials for learning tembang dolanan for third-grade elementary school students. (2) the development of the prototype includes a book cover designed with children's pictures, while the contents of the book consist of ten lists of dolanan songs and their meanings. (3) The results of the expert validation test got several improvements from the validator, namely, adding page numbers, changing the title font of the dolanan song, correcting wrong diction, correcting wrong lyrics, and replacing some dolanan songs that are not in accordance with learning.

Abstract

The students of grade 11th MAN 2 Semarang have difficulty in writing Javanese script-based text. Hence, Android-based Pincaka (pintar hanacaraka) media is necessary to help them practice writing Javanese scripts. This research aims to develop Android-based Pincaka learning media. This research belongs to Research and Development which was done in five steps, including potentials and problems analysis, gathering information, product design, design validation, and design revision. The data was collected through observation, interview, and questionnaire. Then, the data were analyzed by using the descriptive qualitative analytical technique. The result of the study shows that students and teachers need supported media to learn to write Javanese scripts text. The content of the media consists of materials, exercises for writing various Javanese scripts text, and evaluation. The results of the media validation test obtained an average score of 3,875, while the material validation showed an average score of 3 from a range of 1 to 4. Therefore, the android-based pincaka (pintar hanacaraka) media can be used and developed to support the material lesson of writing Javanese text, both in class XI MAN 2 Kota Semarang and class XI SMA/SMK/MA in general.

Abstract

The existence of Javanese language learning in the era of modern technology among the younger generation is starting to decline. Considering the Javanese language is a learning that does not only emphasize language and culture learning but as an effort to preserve culture, one of which is uploading the Javanese language. The purpose of this research is to analyze the understanding and implementation of the Javanese language variety upload material when communicating with other people. With this research, it is hoped that the obstacles experienced during the Javanese language learning process can be overcome. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach involving a Javanese language teacher and 50 students from two elementary schools. Sources of data from interviews, questionnaires, and written exams for students. The data were analyzed using the analytical model of Milles and Huberman starting from the collection, reduction, and presentation of data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the factors causing the decline in the existence of the Javanese language among elementary school students were due to the lack of precise teaching methods for subject teachers, the social environment of children, and the absence of proper habituation of Javanese language children in the family. Based on the results of the questionnaire sheet, it was found that students had difficulty in distinguishing various Javanese languages ​​such as ngoko, krama, and krama inggil. Students tend to generalize the use of Javanese for parents, teachers, and friends when communicating.
