Abstract

This study aims to find the root of the problem to streamline documentation in outpatient care. The method in this research is a case study using a particular pilot study approach for nurses in outpatient rooms for children through Kurt Lewin's theory of change. Problem analysis was performed using a fishbone. The implementation is carried out as a solution to the problems that occur in drafting a Standard Operating Procedure and a monitoring format for monitoring the evaluation of nursing care documentation using the SOAP approach and socializing innovation products. The research results with fishbone analysis showed that the quality of nursing care documentation using the SOAP approach in outpatient rooms for children was not up to standard. In conclusion, the root of the problem is identified. The implementation of a pilot study related to the optimization of the quality of nursing care documentation. Hospital X is at the stage of moving/movement change. Innovative products are socialized and accepted for further instrument testing. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of standardized discharge planning on the skills of mothers who have just given birth to their first child in bathing their newborns. The type of research used is quantitative research using a pre-experimental design, one group pretest-posttest design, with a sample of 30 respondents who were given standard discharge planning treatment. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the average score of respondents' skills before and after treatment with a difference of -2.6 and p-value = 0.001. In conclusion, the provision of standard discharge planning can improve the skills of mothers in bathing newborns. Keywords: Discharge Planning, Skills, Baby Bathing, Primipara, Standard

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether polyethylene is effective in preventing preterm neonatal hypothermia during the transportation process in the hospital. This research method is a systematic literature review from four databases and eight research studies selected according to inclusion and exclusion. The results showed that polyethylene effectively prevented hypothermia in the transport process and was also used in preterm birth and peripheral vein insertion. In conclusion, polyethylene is more effective and safer to prevent hypothermia, control temperature regulation quickly, and improve oxygen saturation, but it is at risk of causing hyperthermia. Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of family self-evaluation in caring for family members with stroke and to find out the most dominant and less dominant categories of family self-evaluation from 8 categories: understanding of self-care, benefits of self-care bathing, dressing, eating, elimination, mobilization and hygiene. The design in this study is a quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the average family self-evaluation in caring for family members with stroke was good, namely 82.22%-100%. In contrast, the most dominant category of the eight categories above was the benefits of self-care and elimination with a percentage value of 100%. The less dominant category is dressing, with a percentage value of 82.22%. Although this category has a lower number than the other categories, it is still in the good category. In conclusion, family self-evaluation in caring for family members with stroke is in the good category. Keywords: Family Self Evaluation, Self Care, Stroke

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the support group on the knowledge of parents of children with special needs. The research method uses a quasi-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. Respondents in this study were parents of children with special needs. The number of samples in this study was 50 people. The sampling technique used is consecutive. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon statistical test because the data were not normally distributed. The results showed that the p-value obtained was 0.001, meaning that there was a significant difference between before and after the support group was carried out regarding the level of knowledge of injury prevention for parents of children with special needs. In conclusion, support groups effectively increase parents' knowledge about preventing injuries to children with special needs. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the motivation of implementing nurses with the implementation of the career path system in the RSU. The research design used is a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional design. Data were analyzed by a chi-square statistical test. The results showed that the p-value in the analysis of the relationship between motivation and the implementation of the career path system for nurses was 0.022. In conclusion, there is a relationship between motivation and implementing the career path system for implementing nurses at RSU. Keywords: Career Path, Motivation, Nurse Practitioner

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the literature exploring the relationship between LACE scores (length of stay, acuity of admission, comorbidities and number of emergency room visits in the past six months) and health care costs for unplanned hospitalizations within 30 days of discharge, as well as the completeness of administrative data from the status of hospital medical records. The research method uses a literature review by tracing the results of publications between 2017-2020. The databases used were PubMed, ScienceDirect and ProQuest, with the results of 76 articles. The results identified eight studies that met the inclusion criteria and resulted in significant improvements using the LACE score in assessing and preventing readmission and lowering hospital costs. In conclusion, a predictor device application that uses electronic data or medical records is needed to manage CHF patients' readmissions. The use of the LACE score has the potential to aid clinical decisions as well as prevent future hospital readmissions. The higher the LACE score, the higher the readmission of CHF patients for 30 days, resulting in higher hospital costs. Keywords: Hospital Costs, Congestive Heart Failure, LACE Score

Abstract

This study aims to develop tools in solving the problem of service flow and patient density in the ER and develop solutions to solve them. The method used is the analysis of results and implementation gaps using a literature review. Problems were analyzed using fishbone and solved using PDCA tools. The data were analyzed descriptively by looking at the frequency distribution of staff perceptions regarding the density of patients in the ER. The results showed that 98% of the staff said the activation of the ER full of crowds was 1x in one shift, 46.9% said the response time after the full ER system was activated was more than 6 hours, 64% said the time required for patients in the emergency room to get an outpatient Hospitalization is around 24-72 hours and 85.7% said the use of the crowded emergency room system was not optimal in overcoming the density of patients in the emergency room. In conclusion, the management in overcoming the problem of overcrowded ER by nurse managers is not optimal in terms of follow-up after the system is activated. The involvement of nurse managers in the inpatient department is needed in the problem of patient density in the ER. Keywords: Management Function, Overcrowded Emergency Room, Nurse Manager

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between age, gender, education, occupation, marital status and belief in the role of the family in supporting the recovery of patients with TB cases. This research method uses a quantitative design with a correlational analytic approach. The technique of determining the respondents used the probability simple random sampling method. The results showed that the chi-square test results for the age variable were 0.332, 0.450 for gender, 0.021 for education, 0.686 for work, 0.717 for marital status and 0.002 for belief. As for the role of the family in supporting the recovery of patients with TB cases, the majority of respondents were categorized as moderate, namely 22 people (64.7%). In conclusion, the variables of age, gender, education, occupation and marital status did not have a significant relationship with the role of the family in supporting the recovery of patients with TB cases. Meanwhile, the belief variable has a significant relationship with the role of the family in supporting the recovery of patients with TB cases. Keywords: Family, Healing, Role, Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Abstract

This study aims to prove the risk factors for the mother, fetus and the environment on low birth weight babies (LBW). The research method used a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 1,489 LBW infants. The data analyzed were secondary data taken from the medical records of mothers who gave birth to live babies from January 2015 to December 2017. Data analysis used the chi-square test followed by logistic regression with the backward method. The results showed that what was proven to affect the incidence of LBW was the age of pregnant women at risk (OR: 1.382 CI: 1.052–1.815), gestational age (OR: 2.097; CI: 1.668–2.637), mother's occupation (OR: 0.347; CI: 0.276 –0.436), pregnancy complications (OR: 4,407; CI: 3,344–5,809), and sex of the baby (OR: 0.742; CI: 0.607–0.956). The cause of LBW was dominated by pregnancy complications (p=0.000) and gestational age (p=0.022). In conclusion, the risk factors for pregnancy with complications and gestational age are the most influential risk factors for low birth weight babies. Keywords: LBW, Pregnancy, Complications
