Abstract

This study aims to determine the clinical significance of Multidrug-Resistant Organism (MDRO) screening and analysis of infection risk factors in the intensive care unit (ICU). The method used is a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that the majority of MDRO patients in the ICU were aged 36-45 years in the late adult age category by 45% and were found in the Central ICU by 63% with a length of stay of 1-15 days by 62 found by taking sputum specimens (47% ). Identification of the most Gram-negative bacteria in the ICU: Klebsiella pneumoniae ESBL, Escherichia Coli ESBL, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter Baummannii. Five bacteria are in the Multidrug Resistant Organism (MDRO) category: Klebsiella pneumoniae ESBL, Escherichia Coli ESBL, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter Baummannii, and MRSA. In conclusion, a high MDRO infection will be at risk of transmission to other patients. So early detection is needed in all patients who will undergo treatment at the hospital. Abstract

This study aims to identify the effectiveness of using the Self Insulin Injection Simulation Tool (SIIST) to improve insulin injection skills in Diabetes Mellitus patients. The method used is a pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed that the increase in the average skill score in the SIIST intervention group was higher than in the control group, and there was a significant difference (p-value 0.001). In conclusion, education using SIIST is effective in improving the injection skills of Diabetes Mellitus patients. Instruction using the media simulation tool makes it easier for Diabetes patients to practice self-injection correctly and correctly. Keywords: Diabetes, Injection, Insulin, Skills, Simulation Tool

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that influence the formation of community resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used is a systematic review by identifying articles from four data based ScienceDirect, Scopus, Ebsco, and PubMed in 2020-2022. Articles were selected with PRISMA based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, using the keywords psychology, resilience, society, and COVID-19. The results showed that there were 4973 articles consisting of 802 ScienceDirect articles, 1179 Scopus articles, 1856 Ebsco articles, and 1136 PubMed articles. Based on the analysis, 16 full-text articles met the inclusion criteria for review. The study's results classify factors that affect community resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic into internal and external factors. Good stability in individuals can minimize the psychological impact and increase the positive effects in everyday life. In conclusion, the resilience formed by internal and external factors makes people able to survive the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, adapt, overcome psychological problems, and remain active in creative activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze lavender aromatherapy massage intervention to reduce pain intensity in DN patients. The method used is quantitative research with a Quasy Experimental Non-Equivalent Control Group Pretest-Postest Design. The results of this study indicate a difference between the mean value of pain intensity in the intervention group and the control group after being given treatment with the obtained value (t = -5.155, p-value = 0.000). This study concludes that lavender aromatherapy massage has a significant effect on reducing pain intensity in patients with diabetic neuropathy.

Abstract

This study evaluates the application of Information Channels and Complaint Handling (SIPP) for BPJS Health participants at Sawit Indah Perbaungan Public Hospital. The research method uses in-depth interviews. There were nine informants in this study consisting of 5 BPJS participants and four informants who were Sawit Indah Perbaungan Public Hospital employees. The study results indicate that the usual obstacle Sawit Indah Perbaungan Hospital faces in implementing SIPP is the length of response or answers to the effects of complaints from BPJS participants who use the SIPP complaint service caused by the network. The benefit felt by BPJS Health participants with SIPP is that it is more effective in submitting complaints. In conclusion, overall, the application of SIPP for BPJS Health participants at Sawit Indah Perbaungan Public Hospital has been running effectively. Abstract

This study aims to develop ICU Card Talk as a communication tool for mechanically ventilated patients. The method used in this study was a Research and Development approach with data collection stages through literature studies, interviews, and observations to formulate strategic issues and design ICU Card Talk content designs through focus group discussions based on strategic issues. The results of this study are color graphic communication cards equipped with writing according to the patient's basic needs and patient complaints measuring 10x15 cm using a glossy paper. The results of the content validity test by assessing the I-CVI showed that the ICU Card Talk content was valid with a value of 1.0, and the reliability value obtained a reliability coefficient > 0.6 which stated that the ICU Card Talk content was reliable. In conclusion, ICU Card Talk can be used as a communication tool that is easy to use as a means of interaction between patients with mechanical ventilation and medical staff so that patient communication needs can be met. This will indirectly reduce the patient's stress level, which will affect the patient's recovery. Keywords: Intensive Care, Communication, Mechanical Ventilation

Abstract

This study aims to describe the function of the staffing head of the room in the COVID-19 isolation room. The method used is a qualitative case study. The survey results obtained two main themes: proposing additional staff and carrying out arrangements for variations in team composition, duty schedules, and division of tasks into patient rooms and nurse stations. In conclusion, the head of the room carries out the staffing function in the COVID-19 isolation room, including staff recruitment, scheduling, and assignment of nurses. The charge of the room carries out staff recruitment by proposing additional nurses. The schedule setting is adjusted to the conditions and the number of nurses available, making it easier to arrange a guard schedule. The division of tasks is distinguished between nurses caring for patients and nurses at the nurse station. Keywords: Head of Room, COVID-19 Isolation Room, Staffing

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of chlorhexidine solution on oral hygiene in preventing halitosis in clients with decreased consciousness in the ICU at PMI Hospital, Bogor. This type of research was a quiz-experimental with a research design before and after the intervention of giving chlorhexidine solution. The population and sample were 52 patients with decreased consciousness treated in the PMI Bogor Hospital ICU. Data collection techniques use observation sheets administratively. The data obtained will be analyzed univariately and bivariate with the T-test. The statistical test results showed a significant (significant) difference between the average halitosis score in the listening group and the chlorhexidine gluconate group. In conclusion, 0.12% chlorhexidine gluconate solution is more effective than a listening solution and better at preventing halitosis in patients with impaired consciousness in the ICU at PMI Hospital Bogor.
