Abstract

This research aims to determine students' conceptual understanding through the C-PBL (Context- and Problem-Based Learning) learning model. The method used was quasi-experimental with a posttest-only control group design. The population in this study were all class XI students in one of the high schools in Bandung. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. The samples used were class XI MIPA 1 as the control class and class XI MIPA 3 as the experimental class. Both classes were given a final test (posttest) after applying the C-PBL model in the experimental class and the discovery learning model in the control class. The research results showed that there were differences in students' conceptual understanding in the experimental class and the control class. Analysis of research results using hypothesis testing of the difference between the experimental and control classes averages using the t-test. The t-test was conducted using Microsoft Excel, and the sig results were obtained. (2– tailed) of 0.00. These results show that the C-PBL model significantly influences the mental physics model.

Abstract

Physics laboratories often face difficulties managing practicums, especially in scheduling, equipment tracking, assessment, and evaluation of practicum results. The mismatch between practicum needs and resource availability usually results in delays, administrative errors, and increased workload of laboratory staff. This study proposes the development of a Physics Laboratory Practicum Management Information System (SIPRAKFIS) to optimize practicum management in physics laboratories. The research method used is R&D with a waterfall development model, which includes communication, planning, modeling, construction, and deployment stages. SIPRAKFIS was developed using the PHP MySQL programming language. System testing was done through unit testing, functionality, usability, and implementation. The study results indicate that SIPRAKFIS is feasible to use in practicum management and can be accessed online via www.labfisikauin.com. Unit testing on the login system was declared victorious. Functional testing obtained good results, namely a functional value of 1. Usability testing obtained a value of 82.59%. Deployment testing showed that the system can be run on various browsers, namely Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. SIPRAKFIS can help facilitate the management of practicum services, reduce administrative errors, speed up the practicum scheduling process, and facilitate equipment monitoring and reporting of practicum values. The results of this study can also be further developed for research and testing services.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the practicality of interactive multimedia based on a scientific approach to the learning process of Pascal's Law for high school students. This study used a questionnaire instrument consisting of five items, namely (1) media attractiveness and accessibility, (2) media structure and understanding, (3) training and concept mastery, (4) additional aspects, and (5) the impact of using multimedia. The subjects of this study involved physics teachers and 11th-grade MIPA students at Ar Rohmah IIBS Malang High School. The sampling technique in this study was convenience sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative methods with descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the study results, the percentage of multimedia practicality assessed by teachers reached 85%, while those assessed by students reached 96%. Based on these percentage values, this interactive multimedia based on a scientific approach to the learning process of Pascal's Law for high school students is classified as practical and can be further tested for effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the e-book Basic Physics Fluid Series design assisted by virtual laboratory Tracker Video Analysis (TVA) that effectively improves students' critical thinking skills. The method used in this study is Research and Development. The graphic design developed, including illustrations and visual elements, was identified as necessary for improving critical thinking skills. At the same time, practice questions with varying difficulty levels allowed students to apply knowledge. The validation process, including the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) test, underlined high agreement and validity, with suggestions for improvement, including contextual design, material optimization, interactive elements, accessibility considerations, student feedback collection, and curriculum alignment. The test results showed that learning with this e-book effectively improved students' critical thinking skills. The results obtained in the indicator provided a simple explanation, concluding that it shows a high N-gain value. In contrast, several other indicators show moderate values. This e-book design can be a role model for developing similar media, especially related efforts to improve students' Critical Thinking Skills (CTS).
