Abstract

Biodegradable plastics are plastics that will decompose  in nature with the help of microorganisms. The use various of starch as the main material of plastic manufacturing has great potential because in Indonesia there are different starch crops. To obtain bioplastics, starch is added to the plasticizer glycerol, in order to obtain a more flexible plastic and elastic. This study reviews  the  use  of starch to obtain good mechanical properties of biodegradable plastics. Addition various of starch affecting the mechanical properties of biodegradable plastics. But, addition of plasticizer  glycerol on many kinds of starch lower the value of tensile strength and raising the value of elongation. But, when added chitosan and glycerol, increasing the value of tensile strength and lower the value of elongation.

Abstract

This research attempts to know the quality of biodisel based on measurements of physics. Using five sample of biodisel  from several species of cooking oil, there are fortune, sedaap, cemara, coconut oil and panah mas. method that performed on this research is by applying the measurement of a density of mass and viscosity. Based on the results obtained  density of mass from sedaap type are 0,8 gr/ml, (fulfill the value standard 0,88 gr/ml), while for other biodisel was not fullfill to the value standard, viscosity discharging 1 times with temperature 40 °C ( 0,0610; 0,0362; 0,0359; 0,0515 and 0,0513). So biodisel sedaap fulfill the ISO standard while the value of viscosity discharging twice not much different from the use of 1 times namely sample biodisel b (sedaap) and the other was not far different with sedaap . Keywords: jelantah oil, biodisel, viscosity, density of mass

Abstract

This research aims to devise means of garbage in the river automatically and see the effectiveness of these tools. Model design made consists of conveyance of trash and garbage disposal apparatus. The working principle of this tool is if a light sensor that is placed in front of the tool covered with garbage that floats on the surface of the river. Waste transported lifted up and thrown into the garbage disposal apparatus transverse position under the position of conveyance of garbage. The results obtained from the design tool of garbage in the river is automatically obtained the maximum load that can be transported 1505,9 N while only able to practice 11,51 N with effectiveness 0,76% so that the tool is still less effective.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the  quality of the water as it had been filtered from the single of active carbon, silica sand and gravel as the media filter. And also to know the quality of the water as it had been filtered from the combination of active carbon, silica sand and gravel as the media filter. The quality of the water filtered was measured by both physic and chemistry parameters, either parameters were measured and observed directly at the Modern Physic Laboratory of Science and Technology Faculty and at the Physic Chemistry Laboratory of  Science and Technology Faculty. The quality of the water which had been filtered by the aforementioned filter materials then met the requirement as pure water based on the water authentic quality standard (South Sulawesi Governor Rule Number 69, 2010), the water then can be used for the daily household necessity such as bathing, watering plant, laundry, and so forth.

Abstract

Research already did by resistivity method (custody species) schlumberger configuration that aim to know of rocks bottom surface structure in alteration zone are district of Gunung Kidul D.I Yogyakarta. Measurement points this research was measured as many as nine sounding points with each disquisition long were 75 m, 100 m and 120 m. the result of interpretation showed that of rocks bottom surface structure in alteration zone area were closed mantle (soil) with resistivity value 9,57 Ωm 14 Ωm on depth (0 – 0,75) m, , clay stone (6,86 – 42,1) Ωm in depth (0 - 9,22) m, sand stone (0,966 – 3,44) Ωm in depth (2,79 – 21,7) m, larva (841 – 1703) Ωm in depth (9,48 - ∞) m. Lava that had alteration was marked by resistivity value which small relative compared with lava which still fresh, this is due to lava which has alteration in area this suspected contain mineral metal so that reisitivity value smaller. lava which had alteration was there in point 1,4 dan 5 with resistivity value 40.5 Ωm – 95.2 Ωm in depth 0 m -∞. While at point 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 there type some structure is: closed mantle (soil), clay stone, sandstone and lava.

Abstract

The mechanical properties of (Polyethylene glycol) PEG4000 +10 wt% SiO2 have been investigated using DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analysis). SiO2 processed from natural sand was added as much as 10 wt % SiO2 as a filler to the composite and PEG-4000 as a matrix. The results show that the addition of SiO2 filler makes the mechanical properties of the PEG-4000 polymer as a matrix increase when influenced by temperature and frequency including shear modulus (G') and tensile modulus (E'). Composites (PEG4000 + 10wt% SiO2 quartz) are more resistant to tensile loads when viewed from their tensile modulus.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of temperature variations on the capacitance of graphene material supercapacitor electrodes from bamboo material Betung (Dendrocalamus asper). The results obtained are graphene reduction can be synthesized by the hummer method which is reduced using Zn and continued with a thermal process with different temperature variations. The data obtained shows that from the GO, rGO 80 ° C, and 200 ° C rGO samples the largest capacitance value is the 200 ° C rGO sample, which is 8.87 × 10-3 F / gram with d-spacing 3.821082 Å, while the capacitance value for GO and rGO 80 ° C samples respectively 2.23 × 10-5 F / gram with d-spacing 3.668773 Å and 1.67 × 10-4 F / gram with d-spacing 3.680739 Å. This happens because the thermal effect is given, the greater the temperature given, the more pores are formed and the surface area will also be larger which results in more ion absorption and electron transfer on the electrode surface. However, if the given temperature is too large then the pore structure will be damaged and produce a low surface area. All samples that have the largest capacitance at the smallest pay rate are 10 mV / s.

Abstract

This research on Laptop Light Intensity Comparison Against Visibility and Size Different Types of Laptop. The purpose of this study was to compare the laptop light intensity (light source) at various distances users, and compare the laptop light intensity (light source) is produced by several brands of laptops. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology by using luxmeter, stopwatch, meter and protractor. Retrieval of data begins with the selection of laptops ranging from 10 inches, 11.5 inches, and 14 inches then measure the intensity of light emitted from each of the laptops in the interval during the 300 second with a distance of 20 cm-1 m. Make a graph of the results of all the research and explain the graph of the results of the research. Conclusion of the research that has been done is the light intensity obtained at various distances users on laptops 10 inches obtained mixed results, this is because the greater the distance between the sensor luxmeter with a light source (laptop), the smaller the value of the light intensity on the screen luxmeter panel. Greatest light intensity obtained in lapotop 10 inches is the HP laptop (Hewleet Packard) with a value of 5,574 cd, to laptop 11.5 inches Acer laptop that is on the cd value of 6.317, and the 14 inches laptop that is on a Samsung laptop with a value of 8.110 cd.

Abstract

Solar still design and construction have been carried out with two models, namely the pyramid model and the prism model. The prism model is proposed as a new model that is easier and cheaper in the construction process as a potential replacement for the previous model that is more complicated. While the pyramid model is a control model. The size of the container or raw water bath used is 75 cm x 75 cm x 10 cm. the results showed that the volume of water evaporated pyramid model more than the control model, efficiency also gave a better value of 27.55% compared to 24.10% for the control model.

Abstract

The research has been carried out under the title of the Making of Nanosilica Gel from Silica of Rice Hulk Ash. This study aims to determine the characteristics of the resulting silica gel and the ratio of moisture content and its adsorbsity with silica gel of the market product is Kiesel Gel 60 GF254. There have been many studies showing that rice husk contains silica of 87-97%. The silica extraction process of the rice husk uses a reflux method extraction process. Meanwhile, the process of making silica nanoparticles using ultrasonic milling method. Ultrasonic milling method is a method to solve particles by utilizing ultrasonic waves which will produce cavitation phenomena. Based on the research, it can be concluded that rice husk used in this research has silica content of 93,46%. The resulting silica gel was divided into three with each different treatment are silica gel without sonication process (TN), silica gel with sonication process for 60 minutes (N 60) and for 120 minutes (N 120). The silica gel has particle size, morphology, elemental content, lattice parameters, crystalline form, crystal phase and different moisture content and adsorption capability. According to the research that has been done, kiesel gel 60 GF254 has water content value and adsorption ability respectively that is 0.045% and 0.1569 gr / ml. Silica gel having water content value and adsorption ability which closest to kiesel gel 60 GF254 are N 60 with moisture value of 0.035% and N 120 with an adsorption capacity of 0.1279 gr / ml. However, silica gel having water content and adsorption ability were TN with moisture value and adsorption ability of 0.2% and 0.2025 gr / ml, respectively.. Key Words: Rice husk, silica, nanosilika, moisture content, adsorption.
