Abstract

To ensure capacitive equipment working safely and reliably, an on-line monitoring system of capacitive equipment dielectric loss was developed. The insulation situation was estimated accurately through long-distance synchronous sampling (using IRIG-B code synchronous clock), seamless connection of data between devices using Intelligent Electronic Device (IED), communication following IEC61850 protocol, and data analysis (using fault diagnosis algorithm). Running results showed that the system not only can accurately monitor the information, such as leakage current, dielectric loss, and equivalent capacitance, which reflect the working condition of capacitive equipment, but also can transmit data to the on-line monitoring data center through the IEC61850 protocol. The operating data, monitoring on CVTs in 330kV substation, showed the great improvement of this system on credibility, accuracy, and stability. What’s more, it also proved the great value of using and promoting this system. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.4866

Abstract

This paper takes the permanent magnet servo motor-driven hydraulic system as the research object. The hydraulic system power source uses servo motor instead of the original asynchronous motor, becoming a new energy-saving, fast response, and easy to realize closed-loop control hydraulic power systems. Aiming at variability of the load for the hydraulic system, immune algorithm is introduced to incremental PID controller and derive control law. Using fuzzy strategy approximating antibodies inhibit adjustment function to enhance the stability and robustness of the system, and designing fuzzy immune PID controller, parameters of controller are self-optimized by particle swarm (PSO) algorithm. This controller is applied to a hydraulic system, and achieved the precise control of the system flow in a variety of typical conditions. Simulation results show that: the controller can immune modulate automatically according to the dynamic changes of load of the hydraulic system, with fast tracking, small overshoot, and strong robustness advantages. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.2048

Abstract

In the field of Digital signal processing (DSP), the reduction of some logical elements counts is one of the main considerations. To minimize the area, computational delay, and power, the digital form FIR filter is to be implemented. The optimization of the ATP (Area, Time and Power) is achieved by using the efficient multiplication and accumulation unit (MAC). In this work, the direct form FIR filter with the efficient MAC unit is presented. At the initial stage, the half adders and full adders are to be modified by the reduction of the logical gates. The modified half and full adder are implemented in the Wallace tree multiplier for performing the efficient multiplication process. Carry save adder is divided into the two stages to reduce the computational delay of arithmetical operators. The proposed MAC design is implemented in the direct form FIR filter by using the HDL language.

Abstract

DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcasting – Second Generation Terrestrial) is one of the latest technical standards being developed by the DVB Project for DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television). It is also known as digital broadcasting trough terrestrial system since 2006 and is an extension of the DVB-T system as a second generation program to improve efficiency of the total system.  It is important to perform a research on the performance of DVB-T2 because Malaysia has launched the free-to-air digital TV project since 2016 hence there is a need to know how well the signal is being received by viewers. This research focuses on a DVB-T2 transmission process which involve the transmission from Menara Kuala Lumpur transmitter to receivers located at 100 different locations. The performance of DVB-T2 can be determined by measuring the field strength, MER (Module Error Ratio) and BERaLDPC (Bit Error Rate after Low Density Parity Check decoder), and then a comparison between DVB-T and DVB-T2 systems can be made.  Equipments involved in the measurement are indoor antenna, distribution amplifier, waveform monitor, field strength meter, DVB-T2 decoder and TV set as the receiver. Results are recorded in Microsoft Excel and analyzed using MATLAB software. The result of the measurement shows92% of the test points had higher reading than the baseline value which means better reception of digital TV signal is delivered to the location.Comparison between DVB-T and DVB-T2 performance shows that field strength of the DVB-T2 system is slightly higher by 1.5 % – 3.8 % from DVB-TMeasurement of digital video broadcasting-second generation terestrial (DVB-T2) signal in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Abstract

The software’s unreliability mostly attributes to an erroneous analysis on the requirements done at the beginning. In this paper, we apply the tool of i* frame requirement modeling and build early requirement model against ionizing radiation. After finding out possible risks and corresponding solutions during the process of modeling analysis, we propose reasoning models against ionizing radiation. The radiation protection system  with  the  above models  can  figure out  the  purpose  of agents  related  to radiant source and provide normal service even when the environment software system is being interfered. It can serve the ecological and economical society with stability and development.  The model is divided into several sections. Section 1 gives the outline of the dependant software. Section 2 illustrates the  i* frame  technology. Section 3, 4 and 5 cover the topic of dependant security requirement analysis, SD&SR model on ionizing radiation respectively. Section 6 gives the conclusion. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2020

Abstract

A novel design of magnetorheological fluids (MRF) based surround device in a loudspeaker system was studied in this article. The main objective of this research is to design a new surround device of the loudspeaker that can be easily controlled its damping. Therefore, it was predicted that the audio pressure level on the loudspeaker could be easily manipulated at a different sound source by applying a certain magnetic field. This function could not be reached using one conventional speaker system. Firstly, a set of an electromagnetic device containing MRF was designed to replace the conventional rubber surround. The magnetic circuit was then evaluated using the finite element method magnetics to study the flux distribution in the MRF area. The current was varied from 0.25 to 0.75 A by an interval of 0.25 A. The magnetic flux resulted from the simulation was then logged and used as the based value for predicting the change of shear yield stress. The base properties of the shear yield stress of the MRF against the magnetic flux was obtained from previous experimental result. Therefore, it was hopefully the prediction could be closed to the real system. Based on the simulation result, the shear yield stress varied from 43 to 49 Mpa or about 15 % increment. A simple experimental work was carried out. By applying particular direct current into the coil, the sound quality generated by the loudspeaker shows different values. Based on the preliminary experiment, the level of decibel decreased about 3 dB as the application of magnetic fields. The idea has been proven in this preliminary experimental evaluation.

Abstract

Among various stand parameters, the density of biomass volume is oftenly used as an indicator on evaluating the forest growth succes. The forest reclamation, which is intended to restore the land cover by revegetation process, the evaluation of biomass content has been a critical issue. Forest reclamation is expected to restore the land function to a proper state that might give better environment as well as productivity. In this study the authors develop a method for estimating above ground biomass (AGB), particularly in the ex open-pit coal mining area of PT. Bukit Asam Tbk using remotely-sended data taken from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and developed using the least squares method. The main objective of this study is to develop a mathematical model of biomass estimation using UAV imagery having 10-cm spatial resolution. The study found that the best model of biomass estimation is: AGB(ton/ha)=0.2377Ci1.3688 with the correlation coefficient of 0.844, mean deviation of 2.29, aggregate deviation of -0.023, bias of 0.98, and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 1.784 and mean deviation (MD) < 10% while Ci. This research concluded that UAV imagery could be used to estimate above ground biomass accurately.

Abstract

Recently with increased adoption of big data, Internet of Things and sensor technology by various organization for provisioning smart intelligent services for various application uses. Data processing on real-time social media and sensor data is been a key area of research in recent times and these data are massive and continuous. Smart application using sensor and social media data can be classified into three class: 1) online processing of streaming data; 2) online processing of historical data; and 3) hybrid processing of both. The existing model are designed considering stream or batch processing. For provisioning real-time processing MapReduce framework using Hadoop framework is considered by state-of-art technique for data inflow forecasting. However, the Hadoop based forecasting model are not efficient in fully utilizing system resource. Agent based MapReduce forecasting model is adopted by state-of-art technique to utilize system efficiently. However, they incurs high computation overhead, thus increase cost of computing cost. To overcome this work present an agent based Data Inflow Forecasting (DIF) model for both stream and non-stream (historical) data by using Multivariate Gaussian Mixture (MGM) model. This work present an Agent based MapReduce (AMR) framework to process data in real-time and utilize system resource efficiently. To provide scalability for processing social media and sensor data DIF-AMR model adopts cloud computing architecture. Experiment are conducted to evaluate performance of DIF-AMR of over existing model shows significant performance improvement in terms of computation time.
