Abstract

College student as a product can be used as a reference to show the success of education. This research will build a system prediction of college student achievement based on educational background using decision tree method.The research will be conducted on students of Informatics Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, University of Nusantara PGRI Kediri. The objective of this system is to help the new admissions process in the selection of students is based on the predicted results of student achievement and help the department to classify new students based on educational background. The method used to predict student achievement is the algorithm C4.5 decision tree method using several criteria based on the educational background of students before, they arethe uan mathematical value, the uan Indonesianvalue, theuan English value, the majors in the school, and the average report cards in the school of origin. This system will be made based on the web to be more effective, fast and easy to use. This system will produce predictions of student achievement information on Informatics Engineering

Abstract

With the rapid development in the era of Internet and networking technology, there is always a requirement to improve the security systems, which secure the transmitted data over an unsecured channel. The needs to increase the level of security in transferring the data always become the critical issue. Therefore, data security is a significant area in covering the issue of security, which refers to protect the data from unwanted forces and prevent unauthorized access to a communication. This paper presents a review of structured-scheme representation for data security application. There are five structured-scheme types, which can be represented as dual-scheme, triple-scheme, quad-scheme, octal-scheme and hexa-scheme. These structured-scheme types are designed to improve and strengthen the security of data on the application.

Abstract

For variable speed drive applications such as electric vehicles, 3 phase induction motor is used and is controlled by fuzzy logic controllers. For the steady functioning of the vehicle drive, it is essential to generate required torque and speed during starting, coasting, free running, braking and reverse operating regions. The drive performance under these transient conditions are studied and presented. In the present paper, vector control technique is implemented using three fuzzy logic controllers. Separate Fuzzy logic controllers are used to control the direct axis current, quadrature axis current and speed of the motor. In this paper performance of the indirect vector controller containing artificial neural network based fuzzy logic (ANFIS) based control system is studied and compared with regular fuzzy logic system, which is developed without using artificial neural network. Data required to model the artificial neural network based fuzzy inference system is obtained from the PI controlled induction motor system. Results obtained in MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation shows that the ANFIS controller is superior compared to controller which is implemented only using fuzzy logic, under all dynamic conditions.

Abstract

This paper proposes a new spectral/spatial code for Spectral Amplitude Coding in Optical Coding Division Multiple Access (SAC-OCDMA) called two-Dimensional hybrid ZCC/MD code. The new code combines two of the one –dimensional codes which are Zero Cross Correlation (1D ZCC) and Multi-Diagonal code (1D MD). Moreover, it produces a zero cross correlation property for each code. The main goal of this proposed code is to mitigate Phase Induced Intensity Noise and eliminate Multiple Access Interference (MAI). This proposed code can provide a better performance comparing to other codes as 2D FCC/MDW and 2D DPDC according to the obtained numerical analysis.

Abstract

Submerged marine investigation still remains a puzzle. The motivation behind this paper is to address the issues in plan and improvement of submerged vehicles with hindrance shirking and moving help for administrator in marine condition utilizing fluffy rationale controller. A symmetrical, practical and little measured submerged Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) with three thrusters is intended for testing control calculation and execution of framework. Kinematics of the ROV is produced relating rate of revolution of thrusters with ROV'S straight and precise increasing speed. A near investigation of the framework's reaction for basic if-else rationale and with fluffy rationale controller for route is made and assessed. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) with live bolster is given to the administrator to more extensive scope of visual perception of submerged condition and navigational guide.

Abstract

This paper presents design approach for realizing multilayer End Coupled Bandpass Filter (ECBPF) using low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology at TMRND's LTCC Lab. Design method for the ECBPF is based on the coupled-resonator filter which was realized in LTCC multilayer substrate and operating at the center frequency of 42GHz. Three samples of EC BPF have been designed, simulated, fabricated and investigated in terms of performance and structure size.This multilayer ECBPF were fabricated in the 8 layers LTCC Ferro A6S materials with dielectric constant of 5.8, loss tangent of 0.002 and metallization of gold. The measured insertion loss for ECBPF was 2.43dB and return loss was 22.81dB at the center frequency at 42GHz. The overall size of the fabricated filter was 6.0 mm x 2.5 mm x 0.77 mm.

Abstract

The STATCOM is one of the shunt type FACTS controllers which can supply reactive power and improve bus voltage. STATCOM has advantages like transient free switching and smooth variation of reactive power. This paper deals with the comparison of five level and seven level based STATCOM systems. Usually DC output from the PV source is amplified using a single boost converter. The output of the boost converter is applied to the multilevel inverter system. The ability of STATCOM to improve the receiving end voltage is analyzed using the proposed boost converter. The performance of five level and seven level STATCOM systems are compared in terms of THD and receiving end voltage

Abstract

The Tamil Nadu – Sri Lanka maritime boundary has been responsible for frequent controversies in the global front, due to fishermen from Rameshwaram and Ramanthapuram districts recklessly straying past Indian waters. Instances of Indian fishermen being captured and killed by the Sri Lankan navy have spun vivid images of violence and human rights violation among the masses. Social activists are desperate for an automatic alarm system to warn the fishermen when they are about to cross the border, and avert a possible impending crisis. The following discussion focuses on the design of an alarm signal system that could alert the fishermen on a periodic basis as they approach closer to the maritime boundary. Installing Global Positioning System (GPS) devices would pose several economic challenges. Instead of the conventional approach of using GPS devices to track location, a transmitter – receiver system exquisitely designed to send signals to the boat would be effective. This system helps in keeping a continuous track of the boats. It provides a reliable solution to alert fishermen before they could inadvertently exceed the boundary.

Abstract

The tea plants (Camellia Sinensis) are small tree species that use leaves and leaf buds to produce tea harvested through a monoculture system. It is an agriculture practice to cultivate one types of crop or livestock, variety or breed on a farm annually. Moreover, the emergence of pests, pathogens and diseases cause serious damages to tea plants significantly to its productivity and quality to optimum worst. All parts of the tea plant such as leaves, stems, roots, flowers and fruits are exposed to these harm lead to loss of yield 7 until 10% per year. The intensity of these attacks vary greatly on particular climate, the degree slope and the plant material used. Therefore, this study analyzes tea leaves as a common part used in recipes to create unique taste and flavor in tea production, especially in agro-industry. The decision making method used is Fuzzy Mamdani Inference as one of model with functional hierarchy with initial input based on established criteria. Fuzzy logic will provide tolerance to the set of value, so that small changes will not result in significant category differences, only affect the membership level on the variable value. Previous method using probabilities have shown 78% tea leaves have been attacked by category C (Gray Blight) while using Mamdani indicated 86% of tea leaves have been infected. In this case, this result pointed out that Fuzzy Mamdani Inferences have more optimal result compare to the previous method.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose the method of tuning a conventional PID controller for unstable transient characteristics. The results show that: 1) This is the novel practical method based on the desired settling time and overshoot percentage; 2) The results are close to the desired parameters; 3) The novel method can tune an unstable fractional order system by real interpolation method (RIM); 4) The novel method is simplicity and computer efficiency; 5) The novel method can find an optimal solution for tuning task in both academic and industrial purposes.
