Abstract

Blood group is not only as a complement of identity card, but also is required in emergency, such as in accident where people need blood transfusion. Additionally, bloodgroup is important to know due to the fact that there are some genetic disorders caused byblood type. Golden age of a kid is under two years old. However, stunting at a kid underfive years old can cause many growth disorders, including cognitive and motor growth.Therefore, nutrition intake in food is important to be concerned in order to optimize thekid’s growth. Baitul Izzah was one of Integrated Islamic (IT) kindergartens in BengkuluCity. This school had three A Classes, one Pre-School Class (PAUD), and nine B Classesin which each of them consisted of twenty five pupils and two teachers. The objective ofthis dedication is to know the pupils’ nutritional status at the school so that parents canknow their kid’s growth. Besides, this dedication aims to give counseling about how towash hands correctly in which we know that washing hands before eating or after doingactivities will decrease the risk of communicable diseases like wormy disease andinfluenza. This activity was accomplished on August 16, 2014. It was followed by twoclasses at Kindergarten B which consisted of 46 pupils and accompanied by the class teacher. Based on IMT (Body Mass Index), it was found that there were 18 pupils withnormal nutritional status, 19 pupils were obesity, 2 pupils were underweight and 7 pupilswere overweight. From the blood group checkup, it was found that all of the pupils hadrhesus + with various blood groups. Furthermore, the counseling about how to washhands correctly and good foods was accomplished. From the counseling, it was found thatthe pupils of the kindergarten were very enthusiastic. Following the counseling, directpractice about washing hands correctly was also conducted as well as giving nutritionalfood like mung bean porridge and milk, and souvenirs to the school at the end. Abstract

Production of coffee beans in the weekly market reaches 95 tons per week. The main problem faced by the business group is the limited availability of raw materials ofselectively red coffee beans. This is because the coffee harvest only occurs in April toAugust, so that outside these months the raw materials are not available. Therefore, thestudy of the raw material supply management and ground coffee marketing managementarrangement that continuous ground coffee business needs to be done. Descriptiveresearch is conducted in this study, in order to describe in detail the actual situation. Datawas obtained from the results of in-depth interviews (depth interviews), observation, anddocumentation of the farmer and member of the group management. The study revealedthat the availability of raw materials of selectively red coffee beans quotation results isvery limited. Raw material needs can be supplied by local purchases of villages in MuaraSahung or from other coffee production center in the District of Kaur. This effort can beachieved through compliance management raw material supply and marketingmanagement arrangement.Keywords: management, raw materials, coffee powder

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in the Village of Srikaton, Sub-District of Pondok Kelapa, Central Bengkulu District. The aim is to increase reading enthusiasmamong school-age children. Therefore, the target of this activity is the children of localvillages and surrounding areas that are still studying in primary and secondary educationlevels. This activity focused on increasing children's interest in the use of village librarythat had been passive, so that the library is active again. This service activity was carriedout in the form of a drawing competition/coloring pictures, writing stories, and storytelling. In realizing the goal of this community service activity, steps that have been madeare: (a) a dialogue between the team of this community service with some village officersand community leaders to discuss the reactivation of the village library of Srikaton; (b) theplacement of a volunteer who is competent in managing the village library; (c) thedissemination of library services, (d) the donation of recent books to the local villagelibrary and the library of SD Negeri 7 Srikaton (State Primary School 7 Srikaton); (e)conducting an educational event in the village library, (f) monitoring and advising on the management and library services to the village library of Srikaton and the school libraryof SD Negeri 7 Srikaton. The results of this community service activity are as follows: thevillage library, which previously was passive, has been active again since 17August, 2014.The activation was done by the placement of a voluntary librarian in this library. Libraryis open two days a week, which is Saturday from 16:00 to 18:00 and Sundays from 10:00to 13:30. The socialization of the village library services was conducted by the teamthrough a local person, who is the village library volunteer, and the teachers of SD Negeri7 Srikaton. The team also donated 86 titles of books (143copies) worth Rp5.029.800,-.Several educative competition activities based on library collections were done by holding a drawing/coloring contest, summarize the story books, and story-telling. Monitoring andproviding consultation on library management conducted by the team once a monthperiodically from May 2014 until April 2015.Keywords: Community Library Reactivation, School Age Children, Reading Enthusiasm

Abstract

Community empowerment in improving the knowledge to make a generator by using the recycle of magnet of the motorcycle is part of a community service-based research throughtraining manufacture of generators. This generator can be used to change of mechanicalenergy into the electrical energy. Where as the mechanical energy is obtained from theturbine screw. This training method contains material about the introduction of thegenerator and proceed with the process of manufacture of generators by using recycle ofmotorcycle magnet coil manner. Generators are made tested with the 3 phase of motors asearly movers to get the magnitude of the voltage output of the generator. After the outputvoltage is obtained then followed by using the turbinesscrew, windmills or otherpropulsion to drive the generators. Magnet motor that is made into a generator consists ofseveral magnetic poles are 6, 8 and 12 poles. Mechanism of the generator is expected tohelp the community in generating electrical energy as a power source of the electricalpower and that does not depend anymore on electricity company such as PLN for lighting,drying, cooling and others. Through this training, the potential flow of a river or irrigation water in the village of Kemumu can be utilized by the villagers to meet the need forelectrical energy. Where electrical energy can be used to increasing the economy valueand daily life of rural communities Kemumu. Of the training conducted, it was found thatthe generator capable of producing an electrical voltage of 106 volts with the rotationdrive of screw turbines is 876 rpm and 12 pole magnet generator. The generator with anoutput voltage of 6 obtained by 78, 4 Volt with one load of 15-watt incandescent light bulb.And using four load of 15-watt incandescent light bulbs obtained 58,8 Volt output voltageby using a magnetic generator 8 poles. Abstract

ABSTRACTMost of Kota Niur population is farmer, consisting more than 90% of the population. The three most important of cultivated plants are coffee, rubber, and palm oil, cultivated intraditional system, with relatively low productivity. The purposes of these projects aretraining the farmers to prepare a good seedling for their plantation, and practicing a goodmanagement for their farm. This project has been conducted since May to the December2013 by establishing 3000 plants of coffee seedling, 11000 plants ofrubber seedling, and2000 plants of oil palm seedling. Demonstration plots have also been developed for coffee,rubber and oil palm plantations. One-hectare demo plots for coffee, two locations of onehectaredemoplots for rubber, and two locations of one-hectaredemo plots for oil palmplantations. Nursery area of about 1000 m2has also been established with fence,irrigation, and shading facilities. Training of grafting, occultation, and nursery have alsobeen conducted to prepare for coffee, rubber, and oil palmnursery, resulting in threegroups of 5-people well trained in coffee grafting, rubber oculation and oilpalm nursery. Abstract

The first aim of this activity is giving knowledge to farmer society of fish specially Unit Pengolahan Ikan ( UPI) Melati I in Padang Jaya Village North Bengkulu aboutdiversification of multifarious product which have higher level economic value. Thesecond aim is giving processing practice of some alternative multifarious fish basedproduct to be industrial product which have high economic value. It is also using naturalpickling method, so that it is a good product for healthy life. The practice also givestraining in making safe packaging and product marketing. While, special target is toimprove knowledge of breeder of fish specially Unit Pengolahan Ikan (UPI) Melati I asparticipant of training about diversified multifarious of fish product that having higherlevel economic value and practice some alternative product of fish become multifariouslyof industrial product which have value sell economical, like fish rengginang, cryspy fishbaby and fish of salai. Including handling of after production ie. marketing and packaging.This activity walk better, its product even also have earned to be marketed out of DesaPadang Jaya, ie. Bengkulu town and Jakarta, and become typical pledge present of desa Padang Jaya. Abstract

Welding processing is the process to make some part of metal become a unit by using heat. Some application of welding process can be seen at the fence, truss, door, gate and etc.The fence, trellis windows and doors and a gate are made from iroin highly prevalenttoday. The Iron fence, trellis for windows and doors as well as the gate is made anddesigned to make home become beautiful. The fencing, railing, and gating are usingwelding machines to connect and decorate the desired shapes. Expertise in designing andwelding of products are very important to meet the requirement of customers. As seen fromthe shape and style of fences and trellises shows the state of community identity in thearea. Expertise to design and design as well as the use of welding machines can beobtained by the public through formal education in Vocational High School of Engineeringand informal (BLK). In addition to the society through education can not study theprocesses undertaken to make tools or products such as fences, trellises and the gate. It isvery harmful for people who do not have a chance to get a formal education or informal.Through community service, which is part of the Tri Dharma College conducted thetransfer of knowledge to the people who did not get a formal or informal education to practice making these objects with the welding process. With this training adds insight andknowledge society. From the results of this training is seen that people who can not followthe formal and informal education have a high desire to attend this training. Abstract

The increasing of age followed by the decreasing of cell function which causes organ weakness, physical deterioration, as well as the appearance of some disease especiallydegenerative diseases, such as the increasing level of the glucose, uric acid, andcholesterol in the blood. At the beginning, usually those diseasesdo not indicate definitesymptomps, so they could be detected only if the complications and damages wereappeared. Delayed diagnosing and providing adequate treatment could increases the riskof mortality, morbidity, and disability on elderly, so it is necessary to do routine andperiodic examination of health on elderly to filter the onset of symptomps of the diseases.In this program we did the examination of blood level of glucose, uric acid, andcholesterol on elderly (> 60 years old) at Klinik Pratama Asy Syifa Kota Bengkulu tosocialize the importance of routine and periodic health examination for early detection ifcomes the problem in examination, and the adequate treatment could be given as soon aspossible.Keywords: elderly, examination, blood glucose, uric acid, cholesterol

Abstract

Dedication this aims to provide an understanding, knowledge and life skills to the group of Harapan Maju farmers in Air Putih Bengkulu Tengah. The purpose of this program is toenhance the knowledge and skills of farmers in sewage treatment coconut shell that hasnot been utilized to the maximum so it could be a better economic value namely intocharcoal briquettes which in turn can help improve the economy of the community inHarapan Maju The farmer groups. The target audience or target group of partners in thisservice activitiy is a group of farmers in Desa Air Putih Kecamatan Talang EmpatKabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. “Harapan Maju” The farmer groups established in 2010 bycovering 20 members. The method in this devotion agribusiness approach in this studyconsider the structure and linkage of existing subsystems include technological innovations and institutional. Indicators of success seen from the role of each householdpeople started doing the processing of coconut shell charcoal and further into processingwaste into charcoal briquettes. The final target of this devotion in “Harapan Maju” Thefarmer groups in Desa Air Putih Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah obtain increased knowledgeand skills about waste into briquettes coconut shell charcoal.Keywords: Appropriate Technology, Charcoal, Coconut Shell, Farmers
