Abstract

Abstract Impaired consciousness is a serious condition that often occurs in patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke and other critical conditions, and is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Patients with low Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) scores require effective interventions to increase consciousness. One of the non-pharmacological approaches that is developing is sensory stimulation, especially auditory stimulation using family sounds. The aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of sensory stimulation intervention (family voice) on the level of awareness of patients with low GCS. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with an Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) approach following PRISMA guidelines. A literature search was conducted on several indexed databases and 10 articles were obtained that met the inclusion criteria for narrative analysis. The result is that family sound-based sensory stimulation is effective in increasing GCS scores, accelerating recovery of consciousness, and increasing the patient's physiological stability. In conclusion, family voice stimulation is an effective intervention and can be implemented as part of family-based care in the ICU.

Abstract

Online game addiction is a disorder involving all types of problematic online gaming activities. All of these activities stem from excessive use of internet-connected devices (i.e., computers, smartphones, and other devices for gaming and navigation). Online game addiction is influenced by certain factors, one of which is stress vulnerability. This study aims to determine the relationship between online game addiction and stress vulnerability in students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang. The type of research used is a comparative analytical categorical with categorical through a cross-sectional approach. The method of data collection is by distributing questionnaires to respondents, namely the Indonesian Online Game Addiction Questionnaire (IOGAQ) questionnaire for online game addiction and the Miller and Smith questionnaire to assess the level of stress vulnerability of respondents. The data used are primary data with a minimum number of respondents of 140 people. This study uses univariate and bivariate data analysis followed by a chi-square statistical test. The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between online game addiction and stress vulnerability in students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang with a p-value of 0.044. Respondents who were not addicted had an average of moderate stress vulnerability with a percentage of 62.16% and respondents who were addicted had an average of high stress vulnerability with a percentage of 46.67%. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a meaningful relationship between online game addiction and stress vulnerability of students at SMA Negeri 15 Padang.

Abstract

Keywords: scabies; stigma sosial; interaksionisme simbolik; konsep diri; pondok pesantren

Abstract

Low Back Pain (LBP) is a common musculoskeletal problem that reduces quality of life. Conventional physiotherapy is frequently used, but the addition of video-based McKenzie Exercise as an independent exercise is believed to accelerate pain centralization and patient compliance. This study aimed to determine the difference in the effectiveness of physiotherapy with and without video-based McKenzie Exercise in improving lumbar functional ability in LBP patients. This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental pre-post-test control group design. A total of 40 subjects were selected using purposive sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. Data were evaluated using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) questionnaire and analyzed using the Paired Samples T-Test and Independent Samples T-Test. The results showed that the majority of respondents were female (60%), aged 46-65 years (45%), and had a high school education (52.5%). There was a significant improvement in functional ability before and after the intervention in both groups (p<0.05). The experimental group showed a greater average decrease in ODI scores (from 21.75 to 16.95) compared to the control group. However, the post-intervention comparison between the groups yielded p=0.185. In conclusion, physiotherapy with and without video guidance are equally effective in improving lumbar functional ability. Descriptively, the results of the video group were better, although not statistically significant due to the limited sample size and confounding factors.
