Abstract

African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is one type of freshwater fish that has high economic value. African catfish with intensive cultivation are hampered by the high cost of feed that is not in accordance with the selling price of African catfish. An alternative effort that can be done is the addition of probiotics to feed which is expected to reduce feed costs. Probiotics are living microorganisms in fish culture that can prevent disease, thereby increasing production and can reduce economic losses. This study aims to analyze the effect of probiotics on the growth of absolute weight and daily growth rate of African catfish. The method used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments namely 0, 2, 4 and 6 ml / kg of feed and repeated 3 times. Activities carried out in this study include preparation of containers, seed stocking, fish sampling, feed preparation, feeding and water management. The variables observed were absolute weight growth and daily growth rate. The results showed that the addition of probiotics to commercial feed significantly affected the growth of weight and daily growth rate of African catfish

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the histology of kidney, liver and heart organs in African catfish Clarias gariepinus not pectoral fin which originated from maintenance in aquaculture ponds. The study was conducted in June 2018 at the Reproductive Laboratory of Fisheries Cultivation Study Program, Department of Water Resources Management, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Brawijaya University, Malang. This research method is descriptive of the object under study that is abnormal fish and the sample specified is 3 individuals. There are 3 target organs, namely kidney, liver and heart. As a comparison, a normal fish sample is used, which is a complete pectoral fin fish. Each organ is examined by the parts that most play a role in the function of the organ. The results of the study showed that abnormal African catfish glomelurus underwent changes that merged with the bowman capsule, whereas in the liver it was found that the hepatocyte nucleus was shrinking and fading. In the heart organ the pericardium layer appears thinner

Abstract

Pond waste treatment is noteworthy, because this is a standard of production success and also one form of cultivation that is responsible for environmental sustainability. This pond waste will be used as a medium for cultivating earthworms. The plan for the implementation of the Community Partnership Program (CPP) is in the village of Pangkah Wetan, Kecamatan Ujungpangkah, Kabupaten Gresik, which is a village where almost all residents live as shrimp and milkfish farmers. The purpose of implementing CPP activities is; 1. Increase knowledge of shrimp and milkfish farmers to manage waste; 2. Increasing the knowledge of farmers regarding the use of ponds as a medium for cultivating earthworms that can be applied in the form of organic fertilizer and alternative feed. The methods used are lecture and discussion methods, technology transfer and demonstration methods. Through coaching in the PKM program, it is expected that shrimp and milkfish pond waste management will be able to protect and preserve the environment of the pond waters, so that the farmers will benefit because it can reduce the purchase costs of inorganic chemical fertilizers and artificial feed, even benefit from the cultivation of earthworms

Abstract

Gresik Regency is faced with the problem of development which is less attention to spatial arrangement where the pond land is threatened by land conversion for settlement, urban development, and industry. As one of the Minapolitan areas in Indonesia, the profile of pond farming in Gresik Regency needs attention. The purpose of this research is to analyze the growth of Gracilaria gigas seaweed in ponds with different depth of cultivation and to analyze the quality in order to rendemen Gracilaria gigas seaweed in ponds with different depth of cultivation, which is cultivated by the off bottom method. The study was conducted in February 2018 with a study duration of 42 days. The test plants used in this study were seaweed of Gracilaria gigas species, which were cultivated by the off bottom method. The experimental design used was complete randomized design (RAL) with 4 different planting depth treatment and 3 replications ie treatment A (depth 20 cm), B (depth 40 cm), C (depth 60 cm) and D (depth 0 cm).

Abstract

Perikanan dan Kelautan, Universitas Brawijaya3Dosen Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan, Universitas Brawijaya.ABSTRACTAgricultural waste has problems on fiber and cellulose digestibility in its utilization foraquaculture. The ability of plant cellulose degrading bacteria to become a source ofenergy can increase the digestibility of feed by fish. The purpose of this study was toidentify the cellulolytic bacteria from the mangrove ecosystem, Tukak Sadai District,South Bangka Regency. This study was conducted in March until August 2017.Samples were taken from litter, mud and weathered wood and isolated usingCarboxymetyl Cellulosa (CMC) 1% media and found 22 bacterial isolates. Gramstaining results showed that 3 isolates (TSS 2, TSL 6 and TSK 4) were classified asgram positive and 19 other isolates were gram negative. Cellulolytic test results showed6 isolates had the ability to degrade cellulase, namely 3 isolates from mangrove mudsamples (TSS 1, TSL 7, TSL 1), 2 isolates from leaf litter (TSS 4, TSL 2) and 1 isolatefrom weathered wood (TSK 5) . Sequencing of 16S rRNA gene DNA showed proximityto Pseudomonas aeruginosa in TSL 7 and TSS isolates 4

Abstract

Milkfish is including commodities that easy to cultivated and has high interest comsumption. The technology that support cultivation of milkfish still weak in optimalyze the growth of it. Research design of this study is group randomized design (RAK). The purpose of this study is to analyze the appropriate dose of growth variable, and FCR of milkfish by using policulture system. This study using 4 treatment and 3 repeatition by different probiotic dose of treatement. Treatment P0 (control), P1 (giving probiotic 8 ml/kg of feed), P2 (giving probiotic 10 ml/kg of feed), P3 (giving probiotic 12 ml/kg of feed). Variable that observed by growth, and FCR of milkfish. The result of ANOVA analysis shows that the difference is very real of variable of daily growth rate, absolute weight, FCR of milkfish, and SGR of seaweed. Varibale that shows a difference next by BNT further testing, so that the best treatment as known is P2 (giving probiotic 10 ml/kg of feed). Giving of dose variety of feed gives real difference toward growth. Growth is indicated by daily growth rate and absolute weight. Giving P2 of probiotic (giving probiotic 10 ml/kg of feed) able to apply to cultivators so that press the value of feed conversion ratio.
