Abstract

Medicinal plants can be used as alternative prevention and treatment of fish diseases. Its use can be mixed in the feed, but must be by the dose so as not to interfere with fish health. Fish health can be evaluated by measuring the blood profile. The blood profile of this study includes hemoglobin, hematocrit, blood glucose, and total erythrocytes. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of adding Avicennia marina leaf extract as seen from the total erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit values, and blood glucose levels. The research method used was CRD consisting of 4 treatments and 5 individual replicates of tilapia. The addition of Avicennia marina extract to fish feed (1 g/kg; 1,5 g/kg; and 2 g/kg) had a total erythrocytes range of 0,995x106–2,658x106 cell/mm3, hemoglobin ranged from 8,3–11,6 g/dL, hematocrit ranged from 23.1–38,4 g/dL, and blood glucose ranged from 46–209 mg/dL. The results showed that the addition of Avicennia marina leaf extract had no significant effect (P>0,05) on the blood profile of fish as measured by total erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and glucose. Aquaculture water quality in the form of temperature and pH has the optimum value for tilapia cultivation.

Abstract

The Vannami Shrimp, also known as The White Shrimp, is one of many shrimp species, which is one of the most famous fish pond commodities with huge consumers. Deket and Karangbinangun District in Lamongan is the two district in East Java Province, Indonesia, that have massive produce and contribution to this Commodity Production. This Research uses Descriptive Methods; Descriptive Methods Research can usually be defined as the depiction or analysis of analytic descriptive or analytic quantitative. This Research used a survey method where the pond farmers from Deket District (n=48) and Karangbinangun District (58). The Average Age Farmers Data in Deket District is around 46 years old, while Karangbinangun District is approximately 53 years old. The Average Education Level Farmers Data in Deket District is about ten years old or in the Junior High School Level, while Karangbinangun is around seven years old. Also, in Deket District, about 37% are Full-Time Farmers while 63% are just Part-Time Farmers. The Width of Pond Data in Deket District is around 6158 Square Feet, while in Karangbinangun, around 4479,40 Square Feet. The result of this Research has been reserved, so the conclusion based on the statistic analysis using the T-Test and the Factors Correlation for Increasing Productivity has a significant impact in The T-Test on that Two District, The Significant Influencing Productivity Factor: “Age, Ponds Width, Community and Harvest Product” and The Factors that have a connection with Productivity including Respondent Factor (Age, Educational Level); Nature Factor (pond Width); and Input Factor (amount feed, fertilizer use).

Abstract

Pomfret fish (Tracinotus blochii) is a new commodity that has the opportunity to be developed in Indonesia with market demand and a fairly high price. In cultivation activities, quality seeds play an important role in the success of cultivation. This study aims to see the performance of hatchery and rearing of star pomfret larvae through parameters of egg fertilization degree, egg hatching rate and survival rate of star pomfret larvae. The research method used is a survey method, data is collected through observation, documentation, interviews and direct participation in star pomfret hatchery activities. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The hatchery of star pomfret through natural spawning during the study had good performance starting from the degree of fertilization, hatching rate and survival rate of larvae. The total eggs produced in the star pomfret hatchery reached 680,000 eggs with a Fertilization Rate (FR) of 74.5% and a Hatching Rate (HR) of 85.78%. After rearing larvae for 28 days, the survival rate of star pomfret larvae was 33.75%. This is supported by the water quality during maintenance which shows the optimal range.

Abstract

Daphnia sp. is one type of zooplankton that is used as natural food. The potential for catfish culture waste from the biofloc system is not yet known as a source of nutrients in the culture of Daphnia sp. The biofloc system of catfish culture wastewater needs to be tested as a medium for Daphnia cultivation. This research method uses experimental methods, namely experiments and Completely Randomized Design (CRD) methods with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely control treatment (clean water + chicken manure 5gram/liter), 75% clean water + 25% wastewater, 50% clean water + 50% wastewater, 25% clean water + 75% wastewater, and 100% wastewater. Nitzschia and Melosira from Class Bacillariophyceae and Copepods from Class Maxillopoda were identified in the waste. The use of catfish culture waste in biofloc systems with different concentrations affected the growth of Daphnia sp. Daphnia sp. cultivation media. with a concentration using 75% of the waste produced the highest growth peak on the twelfth day.

Abstract

Nilem fish is a native Indonesian commodity that has been cultivated for a long time by the community. Nilem fish has the potential to be developed into superior aquaculture products. Nilem fish cultivation is profitable in terms of economy, environmental sustainability, and aquaculture production. This study aims to determine the effect of giving different feed doses on survival and growth of nilem fish (Osteochilus vittatus) larvae. The research design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. Data analysis was carried out with normality test and homogeneity test then continued with ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) test and to find out the difference between one treatment and another, a further test was carried out, namely the Least Significant Difference Test (BNT). The results of this study showed that the best percentage of survival, absolute weight growth and daily growth rate of nilem fish (Osteochilus vittatus) larvae was obtained in treatment B (4% of feed dose from biomass) with successive values of 97.72% ± 2.65, 0.22 grams ±2.65 and 8.23% ±6.76. This is because the amount of feed given can be utilized optimally by fish larvae so that it is not only for survival but also can support the growth process, and there is no turbidity (dissolved or suspended organic matter) in the live fish media which can result in inhibition of the growth of fish larvae.
