Abstract

Aristotle and Plato were the chief architects of virtue ethics, but their own formulation of virtue ethics was mostly subdued with the appearance of consequentialism as well as Kantian deontology. However, modem thinkers have attempted to revive virtue ethics in its new form and in this regard the name which is popularly known is G.E.M. Anscombe. In fact Anscombe clearly indicates in what sense virtue ethics can be revived and what was wrong with the traditional virtue ethics as expounded by Aristotle and Plato. Anscombe points out three important issues for which traditional virtue ethics perhaps lost its glory. First, moral philosophy in general cannot survive without an adequate philosophy of psychology and this thing was absent in the traditional virtue ethics. Secondly, without psychological possibility the concepts of moral obligation and moral duty, the moral sense of ought to be jeopardized. Thirdly and importantly, the differences between the well-known English writers on moral philosophy from Sidgwick to the present day are of little importance. This task of this paper is to review the revival of virtue ethics.

To achieve the purpose of this study, two research questions were raised and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 16620 students and a sample of 800 respondents was selected for the study. The selection was done through the stratified and purposive random sampling technique. The results of the analyses revealed a significant relationship between user education and preservation of information resources and availability of information resources. Based on these findings, it was recommended, among others that: User education should be adequately given to students to enable them to make the most use of the information resources and Government should prioritize funding for the preservation of information resources for university libraries.

Abstract

The pandemic has paralyzed global tourism. In Biak Papua, the impact of the pandemic on the tourism industry is enormous. Almost all hotels stop operating, even if one is open, that also opens up for the quarantine of Covid sufferers. This article examines the condition of hotels in Biak and the survival marketing strategies adopted during the outbreak. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and literature studies on books, scientific journals, and online news. This study focuses on Basana Inn and Manna Inn, on the grounds of the level of representation of the Jasmine Hotel and customer types. The research results show that the impact of the pandemic has resulted in almost empty hotel occupancy. The strategy carried out is almost the same, namely by terminating employees permanently and temporarily, limiting the use of hotel facilities, spending efficiency, selling non-room products online, and refusing to refund bookings by changing visit schedules. During the Covid 19 pandemic, a marketing strategy is very important to do. In obtaining optimal results, strategies in marketing are carried out which have a very broad scope, including analytical strategies to face competition, price strategies, product strategies, service strategies and so on. The Covid 19 outbreak has given service companies a sense of worry or discomfort, especially the Basana Inn Hotel which is engaged in accommodation services. Seeing the results of the identification of problems in this study, researchers are interested in researching the title "Hotel Marketing Strategies in Biak Papua to Survive the Covid-19 Pandemic." The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the most appropriate strategy in the Covid 19 Pandemic situation.

Abstract

One of the very issues in the world today that has always been on the front burner is that of human rights.  Nationally and internationally, this issue has been a problem to world leaders.  This is because the way and manner human rights is handled by either the government agencies, institutions and even individuals is such in a sorry state.  The worst is that of the right of the disabled ones among us.  They are inhumanly discriminated against due to their physical or mental state.  They are not given access to certain facilities, employment, education, etc.  In Nigeria as a case study in this research, this has been played out for a long time despite the laws in place to curb this situation.  The disabled are not given equal opportunities to vote, accessing public facilities, equal employment, etc.  This work therefore is an examination of the practice of discrimination against the disabled in Nigeria where they are denied their basic rights on the basis of their condition.  Looking at this situation, it is believed that if in Nigeria, we have to comply with the legislations on ground as well as the various international laws and treaties that Nigeria is a signatory to, the issue of human rights of the disabled will be well practiced.

This indicates that if the interest variable increases one unit, while the student learning discipline variable is considered constant it will cause an increase in learning outcomes by 0.480. This indicates that when the learning discipline variable has increased by one unit and the interest variable is considered constant it will cause an increase in learning outcomes. learning outcomes of 0.477. The results of the correlation coefficient analysis obtained a value (r) of 0.640, which means that the relationship between student learning outcomes and student learning interest and student learning discipline is in the strong category. Where the correlation value is in the coefficient interval 0.60 - 0.799. While the coefficient of determination (r2) is 0.410 or 41 percent, which means that the effect of student interest in learning and learning discipline on student learning outcomes is 41 percent, while the remaining 59 percent (100% - r2) is determined by other factors not included in this study. The results of the t-test show that the significant value is smaller than the alpha value, where the significant value = 0.002 <alpha = 0.05, which means that it is significant, so the hypothesis proposed is that: "It is assumed that interest in learning and student learning discipline has a significant effect on learning outcomes. students in the Accounting Skills Program of SMK Negeri 1 Pangkep are declared "accepted".
