Abstract

Airbnb has been known for extensive services in online home-sharing and promotion of travel and tour business. However, bearing to the increasingly changing environment and business trends across the globe, it is time for Airbnb to diversify and extend its services to other inter-related products. The proposed new product for Airbnb is development of online taxi service platform in the most toured areas and other upcoming markets. While Airbnb has recently relied on homeowners to rent out their cars to their clients, Airbnb can also go an extra mile and have its own taxi platform which can either be developed separately or integrated with the existing platform. Through the existing potential clients and homeowners at the Airbnb platform, the company will identify the most appropriate travel destinations to start the service. The company will market the service where local drivers can link up with the travellers and offer taxi services. With time, this service can be expanded to stand on its own brand and compete with other key players in the market like Uber. However, it is proposed that the service can be piloted by partnering with the existing online taxi service providers like Uber. The company will then start its own service after the reception of the piloted service. The main potential customers for this service will be the existing customers at Airbnb and other referrals as well as other customers from extensive marketing to be done on the service. The pricing strategy adopted for the service will be economy strategy where the costs of development and marketing will be minimized and the prices minimized as well so as to stand a chance to compete with the existing players.

Abstract

Children as perpetrators of crimes will also experience a legal process that is identical to adults who commit crimes, the meaning of the word identical here means "almost the same", which differs only in the length and way of handling it. Facing and handling the juvenile justice process involved in a crime, the first thing that should not be forgotten is to look at his position as a child with all of his special characteristics and characteristics, thus the orientation is based on the concept of protection of children in the process of handling them so that things this will be based on the concept of child welfare and the interests of the child. Handling children in the legal process requires an approach, service, treatment. The Southeast Aceh Resort Police as the leading institution in law enforcement has a sizable responsibility to harmonize the duties and authorities of the Police, especially in Southeast Aceh District as stipulated in Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police, in dealing with children in conflict By law, the police always have to pay attention to the condition of children who are different from adults. The nature of children as individuals who are still unstable, the future of children as national assets, and the position of children in society who still need protection can be used as a basis for finding an alternative solution how to prevent children from a formal criminal justice system, placing children in prison, and stigmatization of position of the child as a convict. The investigation process is an initial stage where a child is confronted with the police. Irregularities that usually often occur in the process of investigating child crimes in the form of abuse, beatings and other bad treatment certainly experience obstacles so that efforts are needed to achieve the goal of protecting children who are in conflict with the law, especially perpetrator of the crime of torture.

Abstract

Mental illnesses have been known to distress the general population as a whole. Notably, no social demographic is exempt from mental illnesses with the modern dynamics and challenges increasing the magnitude of mental illness. Students especially in higher learning institutions are not spared from the over-increasing mental illnesses. Despite the challenges brought about by mental illnesses among the students, stigmatization of the mentally ill has been high among them. This has seen increased drop-out of school, total insanity and sometimes suicide due to lack of psychosocial support among the mentally ill students, especially their peers. The mass media has been a critical tool of communication. However, there is little evidence on its role in mental health stigmatization hence this study seeks to assess the role of mass media channels on the mental illness stigmatization among college students. The research utilized the descriptive survey design and where both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to collect and analyze the data. The target population of this study comprised of the students at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). There were 51045 students in the college as of July 2022. A questionnaire was used to collect data from the students. The data was analysed using mixed method analysis where both quantitative and qualitative data was analysed. The quantitative data was analysed using inferential and descriptive statistics through SPSS. Content analysis was used to analyse the qualitative data. The findings revealed that mass media channels played a critical role in determining the spread of information and the perceptions of mental illness among students. The channels of mass media communication were found to instigate mental illness stigmatization among college students. Digital media was found to have the strongest influence on mental health stigmatization followed by broadcasting media, print media and outdoor media. It is recommended that these channels of mass media ought to be more positive and encourage students to uphold and accept the mentally ill to minimize stigmatization.
