Abstract

The research that was conducted departed from a learning problem in Natural Sciences for fourth grade students of MI Sirojul Athfal Depok where most of the students scored still below the KKM. In the learning process activities carried out in the classroom the teacher still uses the lecture and question and answer method, so that students are less actively involved in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process in the classroom and improve student learning outcomes by applying the problem based learning model. The research was in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted during the second cycle of the research. Each cycle has four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fourth grade students of MI Sirojul Athfal which consisted of 24 students, 13 male students and 11 female students. Collecting data using test techniques to measure student understanding, observation, documentation, and field notes. The results of the research application of the problem based learning model were obtained in the first cycle as many as 15 students (62.5%) students could achieve the KKM while in the second cycle there was an increase of 21 students (87.5%) students could reach the KKM. In addition to student learning outcomes, the activities of teachers and students also increased as seen from the activity of each observation in each cycle and the learning process carried out in class was much better.

Abstract

The delivery of learning with cultural media has an important role in achieving science learning objectives in elementary schools. In achieving the learning objectives, cultural teaching media are needed that are in harmony with the learning materials, namely the Nature and Changes in the Shape of Objects. The cultural media used must be in line with the teaching objectives to be achieved and the learning model used. However, in practice, science learning related to local culture is still very rarely practiced in elementary schools. The use of hawu cultural media, Sundanese dodol aci, and peuyeum Sampu are used as learning media for science based on local culture on the concept of Nature and Changes in Shapes of Objects. The research objectives are (1) to find out the local culture-based science learning process through guided inquiry on the concept of Nature and Changes in Shape of Objects in grade 5 SDN 4 Cihikeu. (2) knowing the improvement of post-study science in understanding the material properties and changes in the shape of objects in grade 5 SDN 4 Cihikeu based on local culture guided inquiry model. The research approach used is a qualitative approach. The methodology used is the classroom action research method. The data analysis technique is in the form of process analysis and teaching outcomes in the first and second cycles using different cultural media. While the data collection technique used is a test in the form of post-test questions, and non-test in the form of observation sheets for teacher and student activities, and field notes. The results showed that the local culture of Hawu, Sundanese dodol aci, and Peuyeum Sampeu can be effective science learning media used with a guided inquiry model.

Abstract

Based on the results of a preliminary study in grade 4 of Mendobarat State Elementary School 2. It was found that it was difficult for students to follow the teaching materials in Theme 3 so that there needed to be improvements in the teaching process so as not to cause problems, such as students being less interested in exploring learning, the media used by educators were thematic books whose material was too general. (R&D) is the method chosen to complete this research in order to get good and accountable results products in the world of education, especially at the elementary school. Through the 7 stages used during research according to what was expressed by Gall and Borg, namely starting from the potential and problems, to the product revision stage which of course has been carried out optimally by researchers in order to obtain valid and interesting books for students. The data collected is done using interview techniques, questionnaires, and documentation. The research has a target to elaborate plant teaching materials based on local wisdom of Bangka Belitung in increasing the conservation value of interesting biodiversity for students. Analyze data (preliminary study analysis, student questionnaires data analysis and expert justification questionnaires). Based on the results of making plant textbook based on local wisdom Bangka Belitung grade IV Elementary School, obtained plant textbooks that are interesting for students based on questionnaires that have been made students enjoy using this textbook. Sourced from the results of product trials at UPTD State Elementary School 2 Mendobarat with a percentage of 98,33%. While the textbooks were declared valid based on the result of the material expert’s justification, namely 84%, the verification of media design experts, 86% and the justification of learning practitioners, which was 92%. All the validation results are categorized “very valid”.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low environmental literacy skills of fifth grade students at SDN Kembangan Utara 07 Evening. This research was conducted to find out the correlation between the literacy abilities of students and the environmental care attitude of fifth grade students. The method used is correlational method with quantitative research. In this study, data collection was carried out using questionnaires. The sampling technique was used purposive sampling. The results in the study showed that tcount 3.752 > ttable = 2.052 with a significant 0.000 <0.05, it means Ha is accepted, thus the results of the study show that there is a positive correlation between environmental literacy ability and environmental care attitude with a coefficient of determination of 54,7% the rest is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of early reading needs in elementary school children (SD) in the Kayu Besar Village, West Jakarta and to find out the various obstacles experienced by parents in meeting their children's early reading needs. The type of research used is qualitative using descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of six informants which included three grade II elementary school children who had low early reading skills and the three parents of the child. Researchers collect data by interview, observation, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with all informants. Participation observations were made to three informants by observing learning activities carried out at their respective homes. The results showed that the needs of elementary school children in early reading in Kayu Besar Village had not been met. These needs include a lack of attention from families and school teachers, unmonitored child development and growth, inadequate learning facilities, and unfavorable and boring learning conditions. Meanwhile, the obstacles for parents in meeting the needs of elementary school children in early reading in the Kayu Besar Village, West Jakarta, include the parents being unable to fully share their attention in assisting their children in learning, the inability to provide learning facilities due to low incomes, and the lack of education provided by parents. The biggest obstacle experienced by parents in meeting the needs of elementary school children in early reading is related to the low income of parents and the minimal education provided by parents so that they cannot help children in overcoming difficulties in learning to read early.

Abstract

In the Indonesian lesson, the purpose of speaking skills is so that students are able to communicate orally and in writing. One of the goals with students is able to tell orally or in writing the content contained in the text that has been read. This study is intended to analyze the characters and characters in a fairy tale book entitled "Romelu, Sumatran Elephant" which will then be made as teaching material for learning materials to tell the characters that can be found in the fictional text in class IV elementary school. This research is qualitative research and uses content analysis techniques because it analyzes each character and characterization of the fairy tale book entitled "Romelu, Sumatran Elephant". The subjects of this study are figures and characters in a fairy tale book entitled "Romelu, Sumatran Elephant". Based on the results of research obtained from three stages of analytical techniques, namely reducing data, describing data, and drawing conclusions, it can be seen that the results of the study are fairy tales entitled "Romelu, Sumatran Elephants" has 7 figures, consisting of the main character, namely Romelu Gajah, and additional figures, namely pelita, Riko Squirrel, Moura Musang, Jaya Ayam Jago, Romelu's parents, and Bondol Eagles. Of the seven characters contained in the fairy tale "Romelu, Sumatran Elephant" is a character with the character (characterization) of the protagonist. From the results of the research, teaching materials were made in the form of handouts containing teacher handle materials and student worksheets.

Abstract

The habit of reading in everyday life is an important thing. Students who like to read can gain information, experience new knowledge, and improve their learning abilities. At the elementary school level, students get many benefits through Indonesian subjects, especially in learning to read. By learning to read, students can improve their ability to communicate properly and correctly and improve their ability to understand the content of reading. Many ways can be done in learning to read, one of which is through reading comprehension. However, based on observations of third-grade students at SDN Muncul 02, some students had difficulty in reading comprehension. The problems experienced by some of these students can cause students to have difficulty understanding the contents of the reading and not be able to follow the lesson well. In delivering the material, the teacher uses less varied learning methods so that students become less active. The author conducted this research using a case study method with a qualitative research approach. The author obtained the data in this study by observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The KWL (know, want, learned) strategy that the author uses as an effort to improve reading comprehension skills has undergone a much better change which can be seen from the reflection of the results of learning I and II as well as changes in student attitudes in learning. In the results of the learning process, the use of the KWL strategy has not been able to solve the existing problems. Therefore, it is still necessary to conduct learning simulation II because the ability of students who have reading difficulties has not achieved optimal results. In the results of the learning process II, using the KWL strategy, there was a better improvement in students' reading learning activities which had an impact on increasing students' reading interest and students' ability in reading comprehension. Thus, the KWL (know, want, learned) strategy can be said to be able to improve reading comprehension skills for grade III SDN 02 students who have difficulty understanding reading content because there has been a significant increase in student activity.

Abstract

The Condition of schools in Indonesia, there are several schools that have not created a literate school atmosphere both physically, socially, and learning. This requires challenges and strategies so that these illiterate schools become literate schools and become literate schools that are entrenched in school. This is driven by observations carried out at SDN Wanajaya 03 showing an indication of the low interest in reading the students show that during the teaching and learning process related to reading students are not enthusiastic, the means to support reading activities are not available due to the absence of library facilities and from the result of interviews shows that from 23,9% agree and as much 70,5% strongly agree to visit a library that is more complete than the library in school, this research is a field research with a qualitative research approach, for data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interview, and documentation, data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. The purpose of this study is to a provide a description of the implementation of the reading literacy program 15 minute before learning, this program is carried out in three stages: the first stage is the habituation stage where this stage has started to be carried out and is able arouse students motivation and can distinguish the types of reading book, the stage that the second is the development stage where students do not just read but better understand what is read and are able to write the story into everyday life, the third stage is the learning stage where at this stage literacy activities can be carried out independently without any coercion or coercion. Order this literacy activity is linked to other learning. The role of teachers and parents is very important for the running of this literacy program.

Abstract

This research is based on the results of research by using multiplication teaching aids based on the Montessori method in learning mathematics in class II MI Ar-Rofi. Because mathematics is abstract, it is easy for students to understand if the delivery is clear with the help of props. This can be seen in the teacher's learning in delivering using the lecture method and giving questions followed by copying the questions into notebooks and seen in the learning outcomes of many students who are less than the KKM (78). The problem is suitable with the aid of teaching aids that make it easier for students to understand it. The research used was classroom action research which was carried out in 2 cycles, starting with planning, implementing, viewing, and reviewing. Class II students of MI Ar-Rofi, totaling 25 students, became the subject. Teacher observations, student activity observations, motivational questionnaire sheets, and student learning outcomes tests are data collection techniques. The acquisition of motivation and the acquisition of student learning increases each cycle. Obtaining student response questionnaires on the use of multiplication teaching aids in the pre-cycle obtained an average of 21.92, the percentage of 55% in the first cycle rose to 25.76, the percentage of 64% in the second cycle, obtaining an average of 28.52 with a percentage of 71% in the "High" category. . Furthermore, the test is to find out the benefits of multiplication teaching aids and obtain an average of 73 pre-cycles, improving each cycle I II with an average of 87 meaning that all students have completed or have met the standard of completeness criteria, which is 78. The use of teaching aids is well received by students with prove motivation and improved learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the pedagogic competence of elementary school teachers in online learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Mukhlish. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documents. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman stages which consisted of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. (in Sugiyono, 2020: 184) the validity tests used by researchers are credibility, transfermability, dependability, conformability. The results of this study indicate that pedagogic competence in curriculum development, educational learning activities, communication with students. The difficulty faced is that the users of learning methods are less varied when learning online at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Mukhlish, West Jakarta.
