Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out that learning activities with the help of Quizlet can affect the ability of fifth grade students at SDN Sayabulu, especially in critical thinking skills. Before conducting the research, the researcher interviewed the homeroom teacher and one of the fifth grade students of SDN Sayabulu that the learning process rarely uses technology, teachers more often teach using conventional methods with the help of book media. Students' interest in learning can be reduced because one of the media is less varied so that it affects the development of students' critical thinking. From the results of these observations and interviews, researchers used an alternative learning media, namely Quizlet in learning activities in order to require students to think critically. Quizlet itself consists of several interesting features that can help students in learning, features such as flashcards, tests, and writing which emphasizes that students understand, analyze, identify, and provide answers to challenging questions or questions that require analysis and evaluation.learning Quizlet is expected to be a way out in improving the critical thinking skills of SDN Sayabulu students. The research was conducted at SDN Sayabulu which is located on Jl. Sayabulu, Serang City, Banten Province, with the research time in May 2022. The study population consisted of 42 fifth grade students at SDN Sayabulu, of which 38 students were sampled using probability sampling calculations. The researcher uses a quantitative method, namely the form of a one group pre-test post-test which includes the type of pre-experimental design to compare critical thinking of the fifth grade students of SDN Sayabulu before and after treatment with the Quizlet contained in one group or class. The results of the study using Quizlet for learning media, showed a significant increase, it was in the calculation of the parametric test by using the paired sample t test with the results of the sig.2 tailed value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that Ha learning media was accepted, then the influence of Quizlet in improve critical thinking of fifth grade students at SDN Sayabulu.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of using Let’s read on students' literacy skills. Based on a pre-survey conducted by researchers at SDN Jelambar 06, the literacy ability of students in this school is still very low, because teachers have not carried out reading habituation activities at the beginning of the lesson and many students do not want to cultivate reading activities as a daily habit. This happens because of the lack of support for the media in literacy activities. Given these problems, a strategy that can help teachers maximize media in improving literacy skills is the Let’s read.media Let’s read can help teachers because it has features as well as reading books that are packaged briefly but can foster a sense of interest and interest in students in reading activities. Researchers conducted quantitative research using experimental methods. The data were observed by grade 5 students, amounting to 32 people. The data analysis technique used is normality test and hypothesis testing using paired sample t-test. The results of the study obtained the value of  Sig.(2-tailed) of the two paired sample t-test 0.000.means that there is a significant difference between the level ratio before and after treatment . It can be concluded that the use of Let’s read has an effect on improving the literacy skills of 5th graders at SD Negeri Jelambar 06.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of VC class students at SDN Slipi 15 Jakarta in understanding the problems in the story. Most students have difficulty in solving story problems so that many errors are found in solving them. The errors in this study will be analyzed based on the Newman procedure. The procedure consists of 5 types of errors, namely reading errors, comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skill errors, and finally, encoding errors. The type in this research is descriptive qualitative. This study aims to describe students' errors in solving story problems with the volume of cubes and blocks and the factors that cause them. The subjects in this study were 24 students of VC class who made mistakes according to Newman's procedure. The instrument used in this study is the author himself and assisted by story test questions in the form of a description of 3 questions, semi-structured interviews, and documentation in the form of photos and interview recordings. The results showed that all VC class students made mistakes so that as many as 24 students would be interviewed to find out the cause. The errors that occur are reading errors as much as 22.2%, understanding errors as much as 55.5%, transformation errors as much as 50%, processing skills errors as much as 100%, and writing errors in the final answer as much as 100%. The causative factor is the student's personal factor, the concept mastery factor, and the reading and writing ability factor. The solution that can be done is to apply habituation of problem solving strategies using the Newman procedure, provide story questions exercises, and can apply multiplication suits to improve students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a form of mathematics based on culture. Through the application of ethnomathematics in education, especially mathematics education, it is hoped that later students can better know and understand our own culture and educators can also more easily instill cultural values ​​themselves in students, so that cultural values ​​that should be part of the nation's character can be embedded early on in students. One of them is by using the traditional game of Congklak. One of the games that can be used in learning mathematics is the traditional game of congklak which is considered suitable in the material of two-dimentional figure where in it’s section there are several shapes of two-dimentional figure, such as circles and rectangles. The game is not only used as a learning medium, but students can get to know more about the traditional game of congklak and so that the traditional game of congklak can continue to be preserved. Schools have a variety of learning media, but not all of these media contain elements of Indonesian culture, especially for mathematics. The researcher also uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach and a descriptive method using the ADDIE teaching material development model to explain the results of the research that has been done. The application of this media is said to have positive results from the field results obtained by researchers and from the results of interviews conducted afterwards. The use of this media can in fact be applied to learning media in the classroom because it’s use is easy and fun for students.

Abstract

The low student learning outcomes can’t be separated from the low students in critical thinking. During the learning process in the classroom, the teacher still has not implemented learning methods that encourage students to think critically. The teacher explains only through textbooks through lecture and assignment methods. The mind mapping learning method is a method used to remember through the help of pictures or colors with the aim that students are expected to be able to summarize the content of material that has a broad scope and also students can better understand the concept of a lesson. The mind mapping method at a glance will be shaped like tree branches, it makes it easier for the brain to store information such as how the brain works, so that the learning process in class becomes easier and students can think critically. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with Classroom Action Research (CAR) research methods. The subjects used in this study were students of class VI B SDN Cibodas 8 Tangerang City with a total of 16 students. To get the data, the researcher used observation, test, and documentation techniques. The data found based on the results of the percentage of students using mind mapping in the first cycle obtained a percentage of 46.25% and in the second cycle the percentage increased to 81.25% with a good category. Meanwhile, for the average value of the student's critical thinking test in the pre-cycle 49.68 in the first cycle increased to 61.87 then improvements were made so that in the second cycle the class average value increased to 79.86 with a good category. So that in this study the researchers concluded that the use of the mind mapping method for social studies learning found an increase in students' critical thinking in class VI.

Abstract

This research was conducted to develop a learning device based on Banten culture. As mandated by the 2013 curriculum, introducing cultural values can shape the characteristics of students. Science is a natural learning concept and has a very broad relationship related to human life and nature. Science learning plays a very important role in the educational process and also the development of science learning technology is expected to be a vehicle for students to learn about themselves and the natural environment and further development of application in everyday life. Researchers use Baduy culture in developing learning tools that will be integrated in thematic learning, namely theme 2 clean air for health and sub-theme 2 the importance of clean air for breathing in learning 1 in grade 5. This research and development method or Research and Development (RnD) is guided by the ADDIE model which uses 5 stages, namely: analyze, design , development, implementation, and evaluation. The product developed in this study is a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) consisting of Teaching Materials, Student Worksheets (LKPD), and Test Instruments (Grids, Test Questions, Scoring Guidelines, and Answer Keys). The subjects in this study were 5th graders at SDN Buah Gede with a total of 14 students. Qualitative data in this study were obtained from observations and interviews. The feasibility of the product developed through validation by material experts and evaluation experts. The results of the validation of RPP, Teaching Materials, LKPD get a percentage of 85.01-100.00% and Instrument Tests get a percentage on the material component of the question with a score of 90% (Very Valid), the component of the assessment form with a score of 91% (Very Valid) and the Language component used 75% (Sufficiently Valid). In this case the validity of the product developed is feasible to use.

Character education is a very important education to be applied to students. But education at this time has been disorientated in education, where religious education is separated from other education, so that is has an impact on the difficulty of developing the values of religious character. And the nedd special research in developing the value of religius character in students. This study analyzes the management and learning of the natural school curriculum in developing the values of religious character in grade IV A of the SDIT Alam Nurul Islam Dua. The purpose of this study is to find out the management of the natural school curriculum and the implementation of learning in developing religious character values in the classroom and outside the classroom. And to find out the inhibiting factors in the implementation of the process and also to find out how to overcome the inhibiting factors. The object under study was grade IV A at the SDIT Alam Nurul Islam Dua with data taken from interviews with teachers and school principals and also observations made to grade IV A students. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach. The data sources for this study were the principal, vice principal of the curriculum section, the mentor teacher and the assistant teacher (homeroom teacher) IV A SDIT Alam Nurul Islam Dua. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, in depht interviews and sicumentation. Then the data obtained was analysis with the Miles and Huberman model with data reduction steps, data presentation, conclusions about the research. The results obtained are that the management of the salam school curriculum is carried our starting from planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating like school in general. In educational learning intergated with religiuos character values, as well as supporting activities in developing religiuos character values in the hope of providing habituation that is able to attach to the character or nature of students. While the facors that hinder the omplementation are consistency in carrying out aactivities for students while at home so that is affects student at school.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills in science learning material about animal life cycles using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. The subjects in this study were grade IV students with a total of 15 students who were held at SDN Palayangan, Pangalengan District, Bandung Regency for the academic year 2022/2023 Semester 1. Data collection techniques were used through pretest and posttest questions to students, conducting interviews with teachers, giving questionnaires and make observations. The data is used to find the results of quantitative and qualitative data. Data processing is carried out using the SPSS 21 program. Critical thinking is very important in learning so that students are able to solve problems well. Therefore researchers use the Contextual Teaching and Learning model so that learning becomes effective and makes students actively involved in learning and discussing. The learning steps are (a) constructivism, (b) finding, (c) asking, (d) learning communities, (e) modeling, (f) reflection, and (g) real assessment. The results showed that from the pretest and posttest given there was an increase in the critical thinking skills of fourth grade students using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model to 70%. From these results it shows that the Contextual Teaching and Learning model used has a good influence on students' critical thinking skills in science learning in elementary schools. In this study, I used mixed research methods which included qualitative and quantitative research, which differed from each other.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on improving student mathematics learning outcomes in grade III SDN Undar Andir 2. This study uses a quantitative approach. This research is an experimental research with the type of Pre-experimental Design in the form of a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design consisting of only one experimental class and linking two variables, namely the independent variable and the dependent variable, the independent variable namely the Think Pair Share learning model and the dependent variable is the result of learning mathematics. The subject of this study was class III with a total of 34 students at SDN Undar Andir 2. The determination of the subject of this study used the Simple Random Sampling technique. The data collection method uses a multiple choice test totaling 9 questions. Based on the findings that have been obtained, the average pretest value data is 35.88 and after the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model there is an increase in the posttest average score of 78.23. The results of the t-test hypothesis obtain a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that in this study there was an influence of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on improving student mathematics learning outcomes in grade III SDN Undar Andir 2.

Abstract

This study aims to find efforts that can be made in order to increase the effectiveness of teacher work through a study of its relationship with Principal Supervision and Achievement Motivation. The population of this study amounted to 160 teachers, with a sample of 106 teachers in the KKG Cluster 1, Cibeureum sub-district, Sukabumi City, which was determined using the Slovin formula with an error tolerance of 5%. Data were collected using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.The results showed three positive and significant relationships. First, there is a positive and significant relationship between Principal Supervision and Teacher Work Effectiveness with a correlation coefficient of 0.565. Second, there is a positive and significant relationship between Achievement Motivation and Teacher Work Effectiveness with a correlation coefficient of 0.595. Third, there is a positive and significant relationship between Principal Supervision and Achievement Motivation together with Teacher Work Effectiveness with a correlation coefficient value of 0.680.
