Abstract

The World Health Organization has named the enveloped RNA virus Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Clinical aspects and pathogenic mechanisms between hyperinflammatory disease and SARS-CoV-2 are triggering factor for the out brake of autoinflammation disease and autoimmune dysregulation. This condition is known as Paediatric Inflammatory Multisystem Syndrome Temporally (PIMS-TS) related to SARS-CoV-2 or Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) related to COVID-19. There are similarities between MIS-C and other diseases, that is overlapping clinical manifestations that lead to delaying diagnosis. Therefore, whether inflammatory biomarkers could be used to distinguish between these conditions are needed to be investigated. In orderd to distinguish MIS-C from infection and other inflammatory condition, it will continue to be a challenge as the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, a study is needed to investigate whether inflammatory biomarkers could be used to distinguish between these conditions.

Abstract

Polyglactin surgical (PLGA) suture is a b biodegradable raidedsuture frequently used in clinical surgery. Due to its braided structure, polyglactin suture is easier contaminated by bacterial during surgery process. Thus, this study was coated by tannic acid (TA) to prevent Staphylococcus aureus binding. Suture surface modification was carried out by immersing PLGA in tannic acid- ferri chloride (TA-Fe) solution pH 8. The fabrication process was confirmed by FTIR analysis, and the antibacterial preventing activity was determined by bioinformatics analysis. Thus, this engineered suture increased the wettability in DI water, serum, and saline solutions, which could be promising to increase the biocompatibility in wound healing process. To sum up, our method would be applied in surgical suture to prevent bacterial infection and potentially elevate the biocompatibility by increasing wettability in biological solutions.

Abstract

One of the phenomena of people living with HIV/AIDS in the rehabilitation phase in rural areas is that there is not enough space for them to get optimal rehabilitation services. The objective of this study was to provide a public health field practice framework for nursing students in the rehabilitation of people with HIV/AIDS. This research used a case study with a collective design. The primary data were taken from in-depth interviews of 3 informants. Secondary data was from reputable journals. Data processing was done by organizing, sorting, grouping, coding, marking, and categorizing based on specific groupings. The analysis used descriptive analysis. The study found three problems i.e. HIV/AIDS material is in the curriculum, public health field practice is held in semester 5, and no specific guidelines for public health practice programs on the rehabilitation of HIV/AIDS. This study recommended student interventions in the rehabilitation framework for people with HIV/AIDS referring to public health field practices based on the 2019 National Guidelines for HIV/AIDS Management.

Abstract

Acne Vulgaris (AV) is a chronic skin condition caused by blockage or inflammation of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands known as pilosebaceous units. The cause of AV is not known with certainty but AV is a multifactorial disease because many factors influence the onset of acne vulgaris, namely sebum, hormones, stress, genetics, diet, and cosmetics. Poor sleep quality is also a factor influencing the onset of AV and is thought to lead to increased androgen hormone activity. Androgen hormones can trigger polysebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum on the face which then results in the emergence of AV, so that AV occurs more easily on skin that tends to be oily than dry or normal skin. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sleep quality and the incidence of acne vulgaris in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Baiturrahmah University Batch 2020. The type of research used was an analytical observational study with a case control study design. The population in this study were students of the Faculty of Medicine, Baiturrahmah University Batch 2020. The sampling technique of this study used a purposive sampling technique. The samples obtained were 88 people who had done the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that the gender of the most respondents was female, namely 64 respondents (72.7%), the sleep quality of the most respondents was poor, namely 67 respondents (76.1%), the incidence of acne vulgaris based on gender was mostly female (36.4%). , and the relationship between sleep quality and the incidence of acne vulgaris was more common in students with poor sleep quality (38.6%). The conclusion of this study, there is no relationship between sleep quality and the incidence of acne vulgaris in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Baiturrahmah University batch 2020.

Abstract

Hypertension fluctuates significantly every year, especially in Jembrana Regency. Long-term consumption of the drug may result in complications. This study aims to analyze the efficacy of foot soak hydrotherapy in lowering the blood pressure of hypertension sufferers in Dauhwaru Village, Jembrana. Experimental research design with one group pretest-posttest design without any control group. In 37 respondents with hypertension, the treatment consisted of 20 minutes of hydrotherapy in which the feet were immersed in 25-centimeter-deep water. The data was analyzed using a Paired T-Test and descriptive tests. The results showed that respondents aged 31–40 years (51.4%), male (54.1%), independent entrepreneurial work (40.5%), senior high school graduate education (35.1%), a daily work duration of > 12 hours/day, and respondents who had used anti-hypertensive medications for 6–8 years (37.8%) dominated the age characteristics. Hence, the results obtained from the T-test obtained a probability value (2-tailed) of 0,000 < 0.01. Hence, there is a very noticeable difference in blood pressure before and after being given foot-soak hydrotherapeutic treatment in hypertension patients in Dauhwaru Village, with a lowering in systolic blood pressure of 124.3 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of 0.62.2 mmHg.
