Abstract

Toddlers are children aged 12 months to 59 months. This period is important in the process of developmental growth and development of toddlers and is called the Golden Period. The unsuitable growth status of children under five can increase the risk of morbidity and mortality because this condition causes infectious diseases such as pneumonia to occur frequently in children under five known as pneumonia. Pneumonia in children under five is still a major health problem in the world. Other risk factors for pneumonia are nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, and immunization. This study aims to determine the factors associated with pneumonia in children under five at Sinjai Hospital in 2022. The research design used was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. Researchers used a sampling technique, namely Non-Probability Sampling with a Purposive Sampling technique. The samples obtained were 48 using observation sheets. The results of this study using the chi-square test on the nutritional status variable obtained a p-value of 0.018 <0.05 which indicated that there was a relationship between nutritional status and pneumonia, the variable of exclusive breastfeeding with a p-value of 0.036 <0.05 there was a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding against pneumonia, while the immunization variable obtained a p-value of 0.010 <0.05 there was a relationship between immunization against pneumonia. The study concludes that there is a relationship between nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, and immunization against pneumonia. In Sinjai Hospital it is recommended to improve health promotion of nutrition for children under five, immunization programs, and exclusive breastfeeding to minimize the occurrence of pneumonia in children under five.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction: The action of rolling massage (back) can affect the hormone prolactin which functions as a stimulus for breast milk production in mothers during breastfeeding. The action of massage rolling (back) will provide comfort and relax the mother because massage rolling can stimulate the release of endorphins and can stimulate the oxytocin reflex. The purpose of the study: to identify how to apply back massage (massage rolling) to facilitate breastfeeding in breastfeeding mothers. Methods: In this study the methods used were interviews and observation. respondents were given back massage intervention (massage rolling. The intervention was carried out for 3 days with a duration of 5-10 minutes with a sample of 2 people. Results: Based on the results of measuring the volume of breast milk in the two samples at the time of the visit, it showed a very significant increase in breast milk. This is because both clients have been given a rolling massage (back) which can help the hormone oxytocin work in releasing breast milk, accelerating the parasympathetic nerves to convey signals to the back of the brain to stimulate milk production to come out. Conclusion: From the results that the application of back massage (massage rolling) to facilitate breast milk can affect the way hormones work in milk production . Suggestion: It is recommended for further research with more samples and with a longer time regarding the application of back massage (massage rolling) to facilitate breastfeeding in breastfeeding mothers. Keywords: rolling massage, smooth breastfeeding, breastfeeding mothers.

Abstract

Background: Low birth weight (LBW) is a problem in the health sector, especially during the perinatal period. Low birth weight is a baby born not meeting normal weight, or a baby's birth weight is less than 2500 grams. which will cause infant mortality to increase during the perinatal period, where LBW babies are unable to maintain body temperature within the normal range and cause complications such as asphyxia, hypothermia, and hyperbilirubinemia, not only LBW babies will be prone to apnea and necrotizing enterocolitis which will increase risk of infant mortality. Objective: To know the effect of kangaroo care on changes in body temperature in LBW babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Prof. Hospital. Dr. H.M. Anwar Makkatutu Bantaeng. Method: Type of quantitative research with one group pre-test and post-test pre-experiment, data analysis used using the Wilcoxon test. Research Results: Ha is accepted. That is, there is an effect of kangaroo treatment on changes in body temperature in LBW babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Prof. Hospital. Dr. H. M. Anwar Makkatutu Bantaeng with a P-Value of 0.000, where the value of α = 0.05. Conclusions and Suggestions: Implementation of the kangaroo method can increase body temperature in LBW infants who experience hypothermia. It is hoped that mothers who have LBW babies can apply the kangaroo method at home and for agencies and services to develop the implementation of the kangaroo method.
