The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with a total sample of 100 mothers and the results were processed using SPSS with the chi-square test. The study obtained a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05) for the knowledge variable on the accuracy of ANC visits. The p-value is 0.029 (<0.05) for the attitude variable on the accuracy of ANC visits. The p-value is 0.032 (<0.05) for the variable of husband support on the accuracy of ANC visits. The p-value is 0.041 (<0.05) for the affordability variable on the accuracy of ANC visits. The meaning of this value is that there is a relationship between the variables of knowledge, attitude, husband's support, and affordability to the accuracy of ANC visits.

Abstract

Abortion is the expulsion of the products of conception before the fetus can live outside the womb. The risk of spontaneous abortion will increase supported by many parities, the age of the mother, and the spacing of pregnancies that are too close. One of the causes of high rates of spontaneous abortion is anemia caused by impaired nutrition and oxygen circulation to the utero-placental circulation so that it can directly affect the growth of the fetus in the womb through the placenta. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal age and history of abortion with the incidence of abortion at Sawerigading Palopo Hospital in 2023. This type of research used a cross-sectional approach. The total population is 33 mothers with the same sample size as the population and using total sampling technique. Data analysis using Chi-square test.there is a relationship between the history of abortion and the incidence of abortion with value(p=0.014 < 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between maternal age and history of abortion with the incidence of abortion at Sawerigading Palopo Hospital. Suggestions for health agencies are the need to develop counseling programs and increase prenatal monitoring of pregnant women.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a crucial and unique period in a woman's life marked by significant physiological and psychological changes. One of the main challenges is maternal anxiety, especially when women must adapt to new norms, values, or health practices that differ from their cultural background, known as culture shock. This phenomenon is often experienced by pregnant migrants, minority groups, and women in low-income countries who undergo shifts in roles and traditions during pregnancy. This study aims to systematically review how health systems in low-income countries respond to culture shock and maternal anxiety during pregnancy. This research employed a systematic review design with a PRISMA approach. The sample consisted of 48 selected scientific articles, identified through screening, eligibility, and exclusion processes from an initial total of 513 articles obtained from Google Scholar, Scopus, and PubMed databases. The results reveal that culture shock among pregnant women manifests as confusion about new practices and rituals, value and norm conflicts, social isolation, language barriers, as well as stigma and social pressure. Maternal anxiety is influenced by physiological changes, lack of knowledge, social pressures, and cultural differences. Health system responses in low-income countries still face major challenges, but several effective strategies have been identified, such as integrating psychological interventions (CBT, mindfulness), involving communities and families, culturally-based education, and health worker training on cultural competence. In conclusion, culture shock is a major trigger for maternal anxiety during pregnancy and requires adaptive, culturally sensitive, and community-oriented health system responses to optimize maternal and infant health outcomes.
