Abstract

Murabahah is the most favored financing product among customers, contributing significantly to the growth of Islamic banking. With a straightforward scheme resembling typical sales transactions, murabahah focuses on fulfilling consumptive needs, similar to credit offered by conventional banks. As a result, banks do not need to worry about customers’ profits or losses, as the profit margin is predetermined from the outset. However, the adoption and adaptation of murabahah financing by Islamic banks have not been free from scrutiny and debate. Along with the development of the Islamic financial industry, questions have arisen about the extent to which murabahah truly reflects the spirit of authentic Islamic economic law. This research employs a qualitative methodology and is a library-based study emphasizing a scientific approach without involving statistical procedures. The study critiques various points of contention and debates surrounding murabahah products within the context of Islamic banking.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze user satisfaction and graduate performance of the Islamic Banking Department of Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh in the 2019–2024 period as an effort to improve graduate quality and department accreditation. The issues raised include the suitability of graduate competencies to the world of work, waiting time to get a job, and the scope of work areas. The method used is a combination of a descriptive quantitative approach through the distribution of questionnaires to 100 alumni and 50 graduate users, and a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with users from the Islamic finance sector, government institutions, and multi-finance. The results show that the majority of graduates are absorbed into the world of work in less than six months, with internship experience being a significant factor in accelerating this process. The majority of alumni work at the national and local levels, while a small number have penetrated the national job market. Graduate users assess that alumni have a good work ethic, adequate mastery of technology, and appropriate technical skills, but still need improvement in public communication and foreign language proficiency. The conclusion of this study indicates that graduates of the Islamic Banking department are well-prepared for work, and that practice-based learning, such as internships, and an efficient study period are key to improving graduate quality. These results provide a strategic foundation for curriculum development and improving the department's accreditation toward excellence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand commission setting in business practices through Shopee Affiliate, analyze the legal relationship (rights and obligations) between affiliates and Shopee from the perspective of Sharia Economic Law, and to see the legal implications of determining commissions for parties in the Shopee affiliate program based on the muamalah agreement. With a qualitative approach, the primary data for this research was obtained by interviewing 6 (six) informants. Then analyzed using secondary data in the form of primary legal material from the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE) as well as Minister of Trade Regulations and secondary legal material from Ulama fatwas. The results of this research reveal that the mechanism for implementing the Shopee Affiliate program is quite easy via smartphone. The legal relationship that occurs between Shopee and affiliates seen in the ITE Law is called a partnership relationship. Meanwhile, seen from the perspective of Sharia Economic Law, it shows that the legal relationship is in the ju'alah contract where Shopee as the company gives rewards to affiliates after successfully carrying out their work. The implication of the legal provisions for shopee affiliate business activities is that it is permissible or permitted to be done because it brings benefit to society and even becomes an opportunity to create added economic value from smartphone devices.

Abstract

Changes in economic activities in Muslim society are phenomena influenced by social, cultural, and legal aspects. Sociology and anthropology of Islamic law play an important role in understanding these dynamics, including how the application of sharia principles adapts to the times. This research uses a qualitative literature study approach, examining written sources from classical texts and academic literature related to the sociology of law, legal anthropology, and Islamic economics. Data were collected from journal articles, books, and open documents through various online repositories, and then analyzed descriptively and holistically, The results of the study show that social and economic changes continue to affect the application of Islamic law and sharia economics. Islamic economic principles that are rooted in the values of monotheism, justice, and morals are the main guidelines in adapting to the development of economic activities. The application of this principle also shows the dynamism in social reality and the importance of understanding the socio-cultural context. The dynamics of this change underscore the need for a comprehensive study of the relationship between legal, social, and economic in the context of Islam. Adjustments to the needs of the times will strengthen the sustainability of the sharia economy and be able to maintain a balance between religious norms and the social needs of the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Baitul Mal Aceh (BMA) in managing and optimizing cash waqf to support education programs and the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative, which is designed to improve children’s nutrition, school attendance, and learning outcomes. These objectives align with the fundamental goals of waqf as a sustainable social instrument that preserves life and intellect. The returns generated from cash waqf can be allocated to finance daily meal provision, reduce the financial burden on low-income families, and ensure the long-term continuity of the MBG program without relying solely on annual government budgets. Using a qualitative approach, this study employs in-depth interviews with BMA managers and academics, supported by document analysis. The findings reveal that although BMA holds strategic potential to develop cash waqf for supporting MBG, its implementation remains limited due to regulatory constraints, low waqf literacy, and the absence of digital-based fundraising infrastructure. Conversely, Aceh’s strong philanthropic culture, supportive regional regulations, and the growing need for sustainable social financing present significant opportunities. Overall, cash waqf demonstrates substantial potential as a sustainable Islamic public finance instrument capable of ensuring the continuity of education and nutrition programs while contributing to social welfare and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
