Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on all aspects of people's lives around the world, including Indonesia. Therefore, the government issued a policy towards the civil servant work system to become Work from Home (WFH). Human resources in government agencies, especially in the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) of the East Java, are required to carry out their duties and obligations maximally so that performance increases, even though they do not work from the office. The sample of this research is 56 employees of BKD in East Java. The technique of collecting data through distributing questionnaires. The analysis tool used is Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis. This study concludes that the use of information technology has a significant effect on emotional intelligence, job stress, and employee performance. Emotional intelligence has a significant effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, job stress has no significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) emerges as a concept that requires companies not only focus on business profit, or to meet the demands of company shareholders, but also to fulfill the interests of all stakeholders. In Indonesia, implementation of CSR has been regulated by Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies, Article 74, even for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). PT. Telkom Jatim as one of BUMN in Indonesia provides CSR to SMEs in Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. This study aims to describe the compatibility of the CSR programme with SMEs needs, SMEs capabilities, and organisations capabilities of PT. Telkom Jatim for SMEs Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. This research uses qualitative research methods through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The conclusions obtained from this study are the compatibility of the CSR programme with SME needs, SMEs capabilities, and organisations capabilities to implement CSR of PT. Telkom Jatim in SMEs Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo is appropriate, although there are still things that need to be improved, so that the implementation of the CSR programme PT. Telkom Jatim can meet the expectations of SMEs players and provide positive feedback for the company.

Abstract

According to a survey, one of the world's largest financial firms, the ideal time to stay in a job is 3-5 years. Meanwhile, the tenure of PT.Suprama Security Team as of January 1, 2020 is 6-23 years, stating that they have strong organizational commitment. Organizational commitment influences the decision whether or not to stay in organization, which has an impact on performance, employee turnover, absenteeism, organizational climate and employee attitudes in the team. To capture this situation, qualitative research methods were used with in-depth interview techniques conducted on 10 out of 30 informants. The results show that organizational commitment is formed by financial and non-financial factors such as a comfortable work environment, good relationships with colleagues, clarity of status as permanent employees, friendly superiors, and conscientious work operational standards. It shows that the organizational commitment the security team has is dominated by continuous commitment, affective commitment and normative commitment, respectively.

Abstract

Teachers’ loyalty is an important thing as frequent teachers’ turnover will have negative effect towards students. Teachers in Yaa Bunayya 1 Kindergarten Surabaya are highly loyal towards their school, where most teachers had worked for more than 3 years even though their wages are below minimum payment in Surabaya City. This study aimed to magnify factors that contribute towards teacher’s loyalty upon their organization aside from financial reward. This study used semi-structural interview with teachers that has worked in the school for at least 6 years, along with observation to obtain secondary data. Some things that contribute towards teachers’ loyalty aside from wage are work environment, relationship with co-workers and supervisors, and religious believe.

Abstract

Advertising is an interesting discourse to attract public attention. Advertising itself has undergone changes where lately it has focused on the approach side to products, product symbols, personal, and market segments. Not a few online buying and selling sites use advertisements to promote trademarks, for example Tokopedia. Tokopedia provides a variety of products that are needed. Tokopedia Advertising Discourses are produced to attract consumers to use or buy the products offered. The emergence of popular artists in online store advertisements is a current trend. No need to be surprised if Indonesia uses Kpop artists in marketing their products. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data is taken from Tokopedia's e-commerce advertisement in collaboration with Korean girl group Blackpink. The object used in this research is an advertisement from the online shop Tokopedia collaborating with a Korean girl group, namely BLACKPINK with the theme Tokopedia x Blackpink by discussing the discourse structure of Teun A. Van Dijk in 3 aspects, namely superstructure, micro structure, and macro structure. Discourse analysis research on Tokopedia advertisements using Van Dijk Theory shows that the three parts has succesfully appear in Tokopedia advertisements. From the analysis that has been done, it shows that the material owned by Tokopedia ads is complete and the advertisement is able to describe the message that the advertiser wants to convey to the audience which are the benefits and special events.

Abstract

Bhayangkari organization becomes interesting and relevant to be researched in the perspective of gender, bhayangkari is a cohesive organization, this organization consists of the wives of soldiers and wives of POLRI civil servants who are attached to the culture of the military hierarchy that is still strong. In addition, bhayangkari consists of women with heterogeneous cultural, educational and social status backgrounds. The military hierarchy system of authoritarian leadership, seniority and juniority, and personally targeting surveillance is still a culture within the Bhayangkari organization. This research methodology examines how symbolic violence occurs alive as the wife of a polri member (Bhayangkari) the subject of this study is the administrator and the member of the Bhayangkari organization is a woman, case studies this article focuses on looking at the systems and structural roles performed by Bhayangkari members. The theory of symbolic violence is applied to explain how women are controlled and victims of patriarchal oppression in this organization. The study found that women in Bhayangkari were proud to be controlled and suppressed under the normative role of organizations with patriarchal cultures. This is reflected in the way they are active in the organization and totality in carrying out the work program. Furthermore, the special behavior was carried out to gain the prestige and pride of bhayangkari women. Finally, the study concluded that Bhayangkari women were unaware that symbolic violence practices occurred in their organizations. They don't realize that Patriarchal culture has controlled them and defined them as victims of symbolic violence. In this study is to perform data analysis techniques starting with qualitative analysis of the results of interviews, then doing an in-depth interpretation of the relationship between theory and facts that occur. Here also includes quotes (direct quotations) from informants. The issue of gender, especially in women, has become quite an important issue to study, especially looking at the number of demographic bonuses to come.

Abstract

This research is urgently needed to be carried out as an initial assessment to forecast the strategic socio-economic issues as the impact toward Mojopahit Maritime Tourism development plan. The analysis is seen from a social context to measure the socio-economic impacts and also the adaptation strategies that will be carried out by the community. An approach for addressing research problems was decided upon: mixed method research. About 101 people who were chosen through clustered random sampling as respondents participated in this study. Distribution of semi-closed-end questionnaires, purposive sampling-based stakeholder interviews, and field observations were used to gather the data. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive analysis and presented in tables and graphs. The validity test of the research was triangulation. Regarding to the Mojopahit Marine Tourism development plan, this study concluded that the community has sufficient knowledge in measuring the socio-economic impacts of Mojopahit Marine Tourism development plan, including unemployment issue, congestion issue, bio degradation issue, land/building ownership changing, and economic activities changing. Although Mojopahit Marine Tourism will be established in the next year, policy makers have made physical, social, and economic preparations to welcome this development plan through an agent called Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), socialization programs through digital platforms, and collaborative preparation among departments, city government, district government, as well as village government. It is hoped that the growth of tourism will benefit all Mojokerto local people.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, sustainability of tourism-related livelihood is significantly deterred. Tourism-related SMEs, including culinary businesses, struggle to find ways to survive the pandemic. Thus, strategies to cope with the crisis becomes an important issue to elaborate. This study provides an empirical case of such struggle by presenting a case of culinary business in Salatiga, Central Jawa, Indonesia. Based on qualitative approach, this research investigates strategies of the culinary entrepreneurs to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. Data are collected through interviews, observations and document studies. Findings show that although culinary entrepreneurs currently manage to survive, they have to struggle to maintain their livelihood. As the end of the pandemic is still unpredictable, the sustainability of their livelihood remains vulnerable.

The policy on volunteers for disaster management has been in place since the publication of Regulation of theHead of the National Disaster Management Agency Number 17 of 2011, but along with the development ofvolunteer activities and volunteer organizations in supporting disaster management activities in Indonesia, theproblems faced by volunteers are increasingly complex, starting from rights issues. and obligations to legalprotection of volunteers. This research aims to analyze the legal principles and theories that apply to theRegulation of the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency Number 17 of 2011 concerning Guidelinesfor Volunteers for Disaster Management, analyze the Regulation of the Head of the National Disaster ManagementAgency (PERKA BNPB) Number 17 of 2011 concerning guidelines for disaster management volunteers that havethe potential to cause problems orPolicy Potential Problem as well asPolicy Application Problem or applicationof the policy. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach socio legal research and using data collectiontechniques in the form of Likert questionnaires and in-depth interviews, the results of the questionnaires show thatsome disaster management volunteers have problems understanding their rights and obligations as well as theimplementation of disaster management volunteer guidelines which are still not optimal, so it can be concludedthat Regulation of the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency No. 17 of 2011 still has the potentialtoPolicy Potential Problem Policy Application Problem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and examine the effect of leadership perception.commitment organizational to employees at Surabaya Grammar School. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory method and a sampling technique that is total sampling with a total of 90 respondents. The data analysis technique used is the path analysis. The results of this study conclude, among others: 1.) Principal's perception of transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment; 2.) Job involvement has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment; 3.) Principal's perception of transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on performance; 4.) Work involvement has a positive and significant effect on performance; 5.) Organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on performance; 6.) Principal's perception of transformational leadership influences performance through positive and significant organizational commitment; 7.) Work involvement has an effect on performance through positive and significant organizational commitment.
