Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in learning outcomes of Christian Religious Education for students of Class X SMA Negeri 84 West Jakarta through the implementation of cooperative learning type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Using the classroom action research method, this research is directly involved in the classroom action process. Researchers act as teachers to teach and assess student learning outcomes. This study consisted of the initial conditions of 2 meetings, the first cycle of 4 meetings, and the second cycle of 2 meetings. The sample set was 18 students of class X to practice eight times. From the results of tests that researchers have carried out, it can see that the STAD method can successfully influence student learning outcomes such as: (i) In the initial conditions of the first meeting, the average score of students is 76 & the value of completeness of student learning outcomes is 75 while the score is not complete is 60, (ii) Then the first cycle is the fourth meeting the average value of students is 82 and the value is included in the excellent category and has a learning completeness value is 92 & (iii) the last show's cycle II is the ninth meeting the overall average value of students is 90 and is included in the excellent category and has a learning completeness value of 100%.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the methods and accommodation of education. New and relevant methods should follow the transition from offline to online. However, this is not the case in all Christian Religious Education at Pusaka Abadi Elementary School class V. Many teachers still cannot implement appropriate online learning methods. This study aimed to implement the Discovery learning method during a pandemic. The research method used is classroom action research. The results showed that in the initial conditions, only 30% of students understood the material during the teaching and learning process at school. Then the researchers applied two methods, namely, cycle one and cycle two. Based on the research, the results of the first cycle increased by 60% after the discovery learning model was applied. In addition, the implementation of cycle II increased the results rapidly by 100%.

Abstract

The authenticity of the Bible has been a topic of discussion for a long time. Those communities reject the authenticity of the Bible. The problem is that the authorship and content of the Bible cannot be defended. These people echo their teachings through YouTube shows, publishing books, and journals. Anti-Biblical groups from all walks of life will continue to echo doubts about the Bible's authenticity. This study aims to affirm the inerrancy of the Bible as a valid truth in the Christian faith. This study uses a qualitative literature study approach that discusses etymology, understanding, theories, and concepts of expert opinion used to analyze the Bible. The results of the study stated that the truth of God's Word in the Bible was genuinely actual without the slightest error in both inerrancy and infallibility.

Abstract

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is often associated with the words of the apostle Peter when quoting the words of Joel. 2:28-29 contains God's promise to all mankind. Fulfillment of this promise aims to empower God's people in carrying out God's mission, namely evangelism. Nevertheless, ironically the congregation does not necessarily understand the meaning of this text and is reluctant to preach the gospel. This study seeks to find the meaning of the text with the message of the gospel. The method used is a qualitative narrative with hermeneutic procedures. This study finds the meaning of the text that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit for every believer without any limitations with the aim of evangelism empowered by the Holy Spirit so that all nations can know the great work of God done through Jesus Christ. This study also recommends that the church understand the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, empowered evangelism, and synergies of evangelism programs between churches.

Abstract

Dalam Lukas 11:34, Yesus menyebut “Mata adalah pelita tubuh.” Mata yang baik memberikan terang pada tubuh yang barasal dari mata hati sedangkan mata yang jahat menghasilkan kegelapan. Mata yang baik akan menghasilkan terang karena dari mata turun ke hati dan akan membuahi dosa. Pastikan yang kita kerjakan segala sesuatunya hanya yang kudus, berkenan di hadapan Tuhan, lakukan kebaikan terhadap semua orang dan tetap teguh pada iman yang memberikan keselamatan kepada kita. Pimpinlah mereka yang masih terhilang dengan kasih Tuhan dan jagalah hati dan diri kita sendiri agar kita tidak jatuh ke dalam dosa. Tunjukkan karakter yang baik supaya menjadi teladan bagi mereka dan kasihilah mereka seperti Tuhan Yesus Kristus mengasihi semua umatNya. Beritakanlah injil dan ajarlah mereka menyelaraskan hidup sesuai firman Tuhan, supaya mereka percaya dan diselamatkan. Setiap orang percaya harus memiliki sikap hati yang baik dan menjadi berkat bagi sesama.

Abstract

This study aims to explain one of the ecological problems during the Covid-19 pandemic, environmental pollution. This paper was studied using a descriptive qualitative research method based on facts and experiences. This paper shows that environmental pollution in the past has become one of the ecological problems. This is evidenced by paying attention to the surrounding environment where waste due to the pandemic in the form of disposable masks and other health waste that cannot be adequately managed and is disposed of carelessly, causing environmental pollution which has an impact on environmental sustainability and cleanliness and can even lead to natural disasters. Therefore, human ecological awareness is needed at this time, especially in the church, to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic does not lead to the birth of a new ecological problem, namely environmental pollution, but rather a moment of reflection to rebuild a relationship with God through conscious actions of duties and responsibilities toward nature, namely maintaining, managing and working following the mandate given by God.

Abstract

Commercial sex work is one of the jobs that is looked down upon in society at large. This is because the work is an immoral act that harms society. However, the gospel must still be preached to this group, because the gospel is for all mankind. The purpose of this study is to explore evangelistic approaches and methods that are relevant to commercial sex workers in Indonesia. Qualitative methods are used in working on this journal. Several journals, books and Bible verses were collected and compared to answer the problem formulation in this journal, namely the Bible approach to commercial sex. This journal shows the lives of commercial sex workers and how to approach the gospel to their communities, which ultimately results in three effective gospel approach strategies in reaching the commercial sex worker community.

Abstract

Prayer is a spirituality that is closely related to the Christian life. All age categories are taught the spirituality of prayer. However, this spirituality is starting to be seen as ancient and abandoned by Christians, especially in the postmodern era. Therefore, it is necessary to internalize the spirituality of prayer with different approaches and sources. This study aims to find the meaning of being watchful in prayer according to the church fathers in the book of St Afrahat. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through library research texts or writings from the Church Fathers that have been written in St Afrahat's book. The results of the study stated that being on guard in prayer is one of the processes so that we do not fall into worldly sins, by being vigilant in prayer is one of the purification of ourselves so as not to be tempted by the worldly.

Abstract

Commercial bodies spread in the world in order to be able to meet the needs. The body is no longer seen as the most expensive part but can be traded. Sexual harassment is also an act of humiliation against the body that needs to be corrected. This study aims to understand the body from the perspective of John Paul II. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with the data source through library research. The research results show that John Paul II understood the human body as a representation of God. The invisible God is invisibly present in the body. The human body becomes an inseparable part of Him. The body also speaks of the whole person's noble dignity and worth. Faced with that body, man can do nothing but respect it. Respect for the body is a must. It means the phenomenon of humanity which places the body as a commodity object from itself against God's intention and purpose in creating human beings. Humans are called not to objectify others but to build true brotherhood.

Abstract

Peace is not created by itself but strived for, built, and created by humans. This is clearly illustrated in the concept of a new heaven and a new earth according to Revelation 21:1-4. Revelation 21:1-4 provides a new picture of life, new relationships, and new conditions where humans live side by side in peace without fear, intimidation, oppression, violence, chaos, and conflict. It takes a consensus with all parties to realize these conditions. This research explores the concept of a new heaven, a new earth, and its implications for reconciliation. The research method used is qualitative with a hermeneutic approach. The study shows that actualizing the concept of a new heaven and a new earth in peace education is an essential part of efforts to create peace on earth. A deeper understanding of this concept will provide a new perspective on peace and its implementation in peace education.
