Abstract

Some kind of mosquitoes can transmit desease through their biting. Some of them are Anopheles that transmit malaria, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus transmit Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and chikungunya, some of mosquitoes from Culex, Aedes, Anopheles and Mansonia genera that transmit filaria, etc. To study the mosquitoes diversity , the collection of mosquitoes in different species was needed. In order to increased the mosquitoes collection in LokaLitbang P2B2 Banjarnegara, collection in endemic area were conducted. One of selected area as the location of mosquitoes collection was Blora districtThis survey was observational. Samples were taken with purposive sampling method that was all mosquitoes found during the study. Secondary data collected from health officer and public health center (puskesmas), observing the environment and social activities and also entomological survey. Result of entomological survey were various kind of mosquitoes, in Central Java Province, Blora district i.e.: Culex quinquefasciatus, Culex vishnui, Aedes aegypti, Anopheles vagus and Anopheles indefinitus.

Abstract

Lymphatic filariasis an infection disease caused by parasitic nematode that transmitted by various mosquito spesies and affect to damage of lymphatic system in human body. This disease identified as permanent handicap. Pekalongan district is lymphatic filariasis endemic area in Central Java Province. Distribution of chronic/clinic filariasis cases have been found occure in 6 sub districts e.i (Siwalan sub district, Kesesi, Kajen, Buaran and Paninggaran). Chronic filariasis cases in Buaran Public Health Center (Puskesmas) area on 2007 were 4 cases, 3 cases are reported in Kelurahan Simbang Kulon. That's describe tha there is filariasis transmission in Kelurahan Simbang Kulon. The aim of this research were to know microfilaria rate ( Mf rate), number of microfilaria every slide and distribution of filariasis case based on age and gender in Kelurahan Simbang Kulon, Pekalongan. This research an observational and descriptive study on secondary data from Pekalongan Health District Agency and Loka Litbang P2B2 Banjarnegara.Result of this research showed Mf rate in Kelurahan Simbang Kulon at 2007 was 3,91% in 2008, 2,65%. In 2007, mostly was found in filariasis patients of 13 years old ( 13 Mf), in 2008 after MDA (Mass Drug Administration), mostly number microfilaria found in patient 65 years old (14 Mf). More than 70% of cases found in men of adult age group.

Abstract

Banjarnegara district is one of the district which have malaria problem in Central Java. According to SLPV survey (2000-2001), the pattern of malaria increasement is similar with the pattern of Anopheles balabacensis density. Besides, An. balabacensis is a potential vector at a recent infected area and the location with malaria outbreak (KLB). Until now there is no complete study about bioecology of An. balabacensis in Banjarnegara district. This is why we conduct the study about bioecology of An. balabacensis with three location based on endemicity strata, salak field present and An. balabacensis present. The result of this study is expected to give a basic information for vector control programme in order to cut malaria infection chain. This study was observational with ecological study design. Population of this research covered the community and breeding place of Anopheline mosquito which was found in research location. While the sample is the population of An. balabacensis and its breeding places that found in research location.Anopheles balabacensis was found in location with salak predominantly i.e. Kendaga Village, Banjarmangu Subdistrict with MBR 0,05; Prigi Village, Sigaluh Subdistrict MBR 0,03; while at location without salak predominantly in Badakarya Village, Punggelan Subdistrict An. balabacensis was not found. The presence of salak vegetation tends to influence the presence of An. balabacensis, because its leaves give a shaded breeding place for An. balabacensis. Suggestion for malaria program organizer are always be aware of the presence of malaria infection by tightening migration surveillances and eliminating water seepages. Spacing plant and setting the number of salak rib between 7 to 9, cultivating larvarous fish or giving altosid at wellspring contain mosquito larvae.
