Abstract

This internship was conducted at CV. Budidaya Jamur Sejati, a company engaged in oyster mushroom cultivation. The objective of this study is to analyze and improve production quality by implementing the Seven Tools method as a quality control tool. The method includes: check sheet, Pareto chart, fishbone diagram, histogram, control chart, scatter diagram, and flowchart. Data was collected over a 12-week period through direct observation, interviews, and analysis of weekly inspection sheets. The results show that out of 88,932 total production units, there were 1,375 defective units (approximately 1.5%), with the most frequent defects being: unspread mycelium (35%), underfilled baglog (34%), and leaky plastic bags (31%). The fishbone diagram identified root causes from human factors, unstandardized work methods, substandard raw materials, and uncontrolled environmental conditions. The control chart indicates that the production process remains within control limits, although there is a trend approaching the upper limit.

Abstract

The bicycle manufacturing industry is a sector that continues to experience growth as public awareness of the importance of a healthy, environmentally friendly lifestyle increases, and interest in cycling grows. In the production process, the Welding Division plays a crucial role as it is responsible for assembling the main components of bicycles, namely the frame. This study focuses on demand forecasting in this division so that the company can determine production targets more accurately. The single moving average method was chosen as the forecasting technique because it is suitable for limited data conditions, both for production and sales needs. The researchers divided this method into three variations: forecasting with a 2-month, 3-month, and 4-month period. The analysis results showed that the 2-month single moving average method provided the most accurate results with a mean absolute percentage error of 28%, which is lower than the other methods. Overall, the average production in the Welding Division reached 54,050 units.

Abstract

Modern production systems are increasingly complex, requiring scheduling methods that can handle dynamic environments, diverse constraints, and large-scale operations. Traditional approaches often lack flexibility, while machine learning (ML)–based methods, despite their potential, still face limitations related to scalability, generalizability, interpretability, and computational efficiency. This study presents a systematic literature review of 77 primary studies published between 2014 and 2024, conducted in accordance with the Kitchenham and Charters framework. The review analyzes major research outlets, commonly applied ML techniques, reported performance, and proposed enhancements. Reinforcement learning, particularly deep reinforcement learning, dominates the literature, with methods such as Q-Learning, Deep Q-Networks, and Proximal Policy Optimization showing promise for dynamic scheduling. However, challenges remain regarding convergence speed, data requirements, reward design, and real-time adaptability. Future research should focus on scalable, adaptive, interpretable models and tighter integration with real-time data and Industry 4.0 systems.

Abstract

Stitching is an important process in jumbo sack production, which is done semi-manually with one worker per machine. Problems arise because the height of the work chair does not match the dimensions of the worker's body, giving rise to complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the back and neck. The research results show that workers add hard cushions to chairs, with the aim of adjusting body height requirements. This causes a burning sensation and pain in the buttocks area, this was proven by 11 out of 12 workers who felt the same complaint. This research aims to redesign the jumbo sack sewing work chair based on anthropometric data and percentile calculations using (P5, P50, P95). As a solution, this research proposes designing an ergonomic chair with a minimum seat height of 47 cm and a maximum height of 52 cm, a seat length of 40 cm, a seat width of 40 cm, a backrest height of 52 cm, and a top backrest width of 44 cm. It is hoped that this design can become a reference in making ergonomic chairs to reduce worker complaints.

Abstract

The PQX Study Program is part of a State University in Indonesia, faces significant challenges in managing academic and administrative archives. Based on internal data until October, 2025, more than 6000 physical records are still managed manually or stored through online media such as Google Drive, without an integrated archiving system or adequate security mechanisms. This condition has resulted in delays in data retrieval, limited storage capacity, and increased operational costs due to the maintenance of physical archives. To address these issues, this study applies a software engineering approach using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model to design a web-based archival information system prototype. The purpose of this research is to develop an integrated archival information system within the PQX Study Program. The research stages include user needs analysis, system design using a user-centered design approach, and prototype implementation. Data were collected through observation, and analysis of internal archival documents. The resulting digital archiving system design is expected to enhance document access efficiency, strengthen data security, and support the digital transformation of academic administration within the PQX Study Program.

Abstract

UD. XYZ in Sidoarjo encountered difficulties in meeting market demand due to an uneven imbalance of workers production stations, leading to process delays and reduced efficiency. This research aims to establish the standard time and determine the optimal workforce allocation to enhance the cracker (kerupuk puli) production process. Stopwatch time study and workload analysis were used to assess data collected through direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed a total standard time of 1464.55 seconds or approximately 24.41 minutes to produce one 5 kg package of crackers. Based on the analysis, workforce adjustments were required: mixing and grinding increased from 1 to 2 workers, boiling decreased from 3 to 2, cooling and cutting each remained at 1, while drying and packaging were reduced from 4 to 2 workers. These changes are expected to improve efficiency and ensure production targets are consistently met.
