Abstract

Inefficient material distribution at PT XYZ causes production delays in tactical vehicles and increases operational costs. This study aims to identify waste in the material distribution process using the Lean Logistics approach with the help of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Process Activity Mapping (PAM) tools. The analysis shows that out of a total distribution time of 6,835 minutes, only 273 minutes (4%) are value-added (VA) activities, while the remainder consists of non-value added (NVA) and necessary non-value added (NNVA) activities. These findings highlight the dominance of wasted time due to delays, transportation, and inefficient storage. The study recommends continuous improvement through lean tools and the implementation of digital technologies to accelerate distribution flow and reduce waste. This approach can enhance overall logistics efficiency and company productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze occupational health and safety (OHS) risks at X Karawang Hospital using the HIRADC method (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control). The research focuses on the nutrition installation unit, which has the highest accident rate based on Pareto Diagram analysis. Hazard identification was conducted through observation and interviews with the HSE team, unit heads, and field workers. The results revealed 26 potential hazards, consisting of 2 low risks (7,69%), 20 moderate risks (76,92%), and 4 high risks (15,38%). The main contributing factors include human aspects (lack of OHS awareness), machinery (equipment damage), materials (sharp tools, chemicals), methods (lack of SOPs), and environment (slippery floors, high temperatures). Risk control recommendations include elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE usage. The conclusion emphasizes the need for comprehensive risk control measures to ensure a safe workplace.

Abstract

Quality is one of the important factors in the production process. Damaged or defective products cause significant losses to the company. In this study, defective products are products that do not meet the quality standards that have been set during the manufacturing process. When customers feel that the product cannot be used according to their needs, the product will be estimated as a defective product. This research uses the fishbone method, which is more comprehensive than other methods, because it can cover the causal factors of consequences clearly and in detail. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method to evaluate the risk of failure at the production stage with a quantitative approach. With the application of these two methods, it is expected to analyze the problem quickly, precisely and focus on the cause effectively. Data is collected through direct observation (primary data) and interviews with employees (second data). The results of this study are expected to enable the company to identify and improve the quality of products to be produced in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of leadership on employee performance in the automotive industry. Good leadership plays a crucial role in motivating employees, increasing productivity, and creating job satisfaction, which ultimately affects the overall performance of the organization. Through a literature review approach, this study analyzes relevant theories and examines empirical findings from previous research discussing the relationship between leadership style and employee performance levels within the automotive industry. The research findings indicate that leaders who are able to inspire, maintain trust, and demonstrate high integrity will create a work environment that supports optimal performance. Conversely, poor leadership can reduce work motivation and decrease productivity and the quality of work outcomes. Therefore, automotive companies need to ensure that individuals in leadership positions have the capability to provide explicit guidance, build constructive interpersonal relationships with employees, and encourage innovation within the organization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze ergonomic risk in manual lifting activities at the food storage warehouse of PT XYZ, located in Cikarang Barat, using the NIOSH Lifting Equation method. A total of 20 workers were observed, with ergonomic variables measured such as load weight, lifting frequency, lifting distance, and body posture. The results showed that the average initial Lifting Index (LI) was 2.328, significantly exceeding the safe threshold (LI ≤ 1), indicating a high risk of musculoskeletal disorders. After an intervention using a team lifting system, the average LI decreased to 1.207. Although not yet fully within the safe zone, this method effectively reduced ergonomic risk. Recommendations include ergonomic training, use of lifting aids, and broader implementation of team lifting. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach.

Abstract

PT. X is a manufacturing company that produces fire extinguishers (APAR), where cylindrical plate welding is a critical process. However, the process is often inefficient due to several non-value-added steps. This study aims to improve welding productivity using Lean Six Sigma through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach and by measuring Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The initial OEE value was 67.49%, far below the world-class standard of 85%. Pareto analysis showed the highest downtime was due to cycle time issues, especially during setup and cutting of additional plates. Improvements were made by eliminating the cutting process and adding a stopper to ensure accurate welding positions. These changes reduced the cycle time from 180 seconds to 120 seconds and increased the OEE to 76.12%.

Abstract

Production planning and control are essential aspects in ensuring smooth production processes, creating profitable products, and making sure products are available on time. The home industry for tempeh production located in Link. Jombang Kali, Jombang District, has been operating since 1993 and continues to this day. However, this tempeh factory often experiences fluctuations in production, including both overproduction and underproduction. Therefore, a study was conducted to evaluate and forecast the production levels for upcoming periods. Forecasting errors were evaluated using Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), Mean Squared Error (MSE), and Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE). The purpose of this study is to compare the Moving Average and Exponential Smoothing methods. The results of the analysis show that the Exponential Smoothing method produces lower error values, with MAD of 387.163, MSE of 261,914.1, and MAPE of 0.055349, compared to the Moving Average method.

Abstract

This study aims to forecast the sales of bottled drinking water (AMDK) products in 220 ml glass packaging at XYZ Company. The problem faced by the company is the inaccuracy of production planning due to fluctuations in demand, which causes excess and shortage of stock, and has an impact on increasing storage costs and potential delays in distribution. To overcome this, sales forecasting was conducted using historical sales data for 2024 with five time series forecasting methods, namely Moving Average, Simple Exponential Smoothing, Double Exponential Smoothing, Triple Exponential Smoothing, and Decomposition. The evaluation is done using three error measures: Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), Mean Square Error (MSE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The analysis showed that the Multiplicative Decomposition method with a seasonal length of 2 is the best method with a MAPE value of 16, MSE 1138, and MAD 2,586,324.

Abstract

This study aims to redesign an ergonomic red onion planting tool to improve work efficiency for farmers in Sukomoro District, Nganjuk Regency. The main problems faced by farmers include uncomfortable working posture, long planting times, and high dependence on manual labor. By applying ergonomic principles and using local anthropometric data, a new tool was designed and tested directly by 20 farmer respondents. The results showed that the redesigned tool reduced average planting time by up to 20% compared to the previous tool and received positive responses from the majority of farmers based on a satisfaction questionnaire. The tool was developed with consideration for user comfort, planting distance accuracy, and ease of operation. This study concludes that the redesigned planting tool is feasible to be used as an effective and sustainable mechanization solution to enhance productivity and farmer welfare in red onion cultivation.

Abstract

One important thing in conducting statistical analysis is the normality test. The purpose of the normality test is to determine whether the data to be used in the research follows a normal distribution or does not follow a normal distribution. One of the normality tests is the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Normality Test. Microsoft Excel is equipped with Statistical Function. Thus the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Normality Test can be done with the help of Microsoft Excel. An example of a case in the form of bull mass data with a sample size of 90 has passed the normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method, the results of which are that the data is normally distributed.
