Abstract

PT XYZ operates in the culinary industry with Bakso Frozen BTS as its flagship product. The selling price of IDR 149,000 per kg is considered too high, reducing competitiveness, especially in lower purchasing power markets. This issue stems from high production costs due to expensive raw materials and the lack of supplier partnerships, while consumers compare prices with cheaper competitors. This study aims to recommend an optimal selling price through target costing and identify cost efficiencies using value engineering, supported by FAST Diagram, Mudge Diagram, and Resource Consumption Matrix. Findings indicate the selling price can be reduced to IDR 139,000 to remain competitive, with the profit margin rising from 30% to 32.2%. Production costs decreased from IDR 104,300 to IDR 94,279 per pack, yielding efficiency of IDR 10,021 or 9.6% through improvements in raw materials. This method enables the company to set a more competitive price without compromising product quality.

Abstract

The energy source of the converted electric motorcycle is from the battery. The type of battery used is lithium-ion with a capacity of 72 V/20 Ah. The purpose of this research is to increase the efficiency of electrical power consumption required by the driving motor from previous research, where the electrical power consumption of the converted electric motorcycle with a v-belt power transmission at a driving speed of 50 km/h is 724 Watts. It is only able to cover a distance of 99 km. The method used in this research is to test the electrical power consumption of the converted electric motorcycle with a synchronous belt power transfer. The results of the test show that the converted electric motorcycle with a synchronous belt power transfer consumes only 305 Watts of electrical power at a speed of 50 km/h. This means that the efficiency of electrical power consumption increases by 120% compared to the v-belt power transfer, and the driving distance at a speed of 50 km/h is 235 km.

Abstract

Improper manual work can lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). CV XYZ, a company specializing in bodywork, faces MSD issues among its workers, but there is insufficient data on this matter. Contributing factors include the working environment and the inadequate use of assistive tools. The purpose of this research is to determine the key factors that contribute to MSDs, evaluate the level of risk involved, and offer suggestions for enhancing work posture through the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) approach. The research involves bodywork workers at CV XYZ. The findings indicate the most common complaints are in the right shoulder (100%), lower back and buttocks (82%), right upper arm (76%), and lower neck (71%). Based on the RULA score (7), the workers' posture is classified as high risk, requiring immediate corrective actions. The proposed improvement is a workbench with a length of 57 cm and a height of 68 cm.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and redesign the facility layout of Sero Elite Farm using the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) and Total Closeness Rating (TCR) methods. The analysis focuses on improving operational efficiency through adjustments to the spatial proximity of key facility functions. The results indicate that placing the feed storage area closer to the fish pond streamlines feeding activities and enhances employee productivity. The warehouse was repositioned near the parking area to facilitate material movement, while the sales area was relocated closer to the main road access from the north to improve customer convenience in purchasing daily fish products. The redesigned layout provides a more effective workflow, reduces unnecessary movement, and supports the farm’s overall operational efficiency.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the manufacturing sector in the economic development of Jambi Province during the period 2007–2024. The research addresses the uncertainty regarding whether the manufacturing sector functions as a base sector and evaluates the extent to which key economic factors contribute to its performance. Using the Location Quotient (LQ) and Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) methods, the study identifies the structural dynamics of the sector, while a log-linear regression model is employed to analyze the effects of investment, labor, and the number of business units on the sector’s GRDP. The results indicate that the manufacturing sector remained predominantly non-base throughout the period, with a temporary base status occurring between 2011 and 2020. Regression findings reveal that labor and the number of business units exert positive and significant effects on the manufacturing GRDP, whereas investment shows inconsistent impacts. On average, the manufacturing sector contributed 12.06 percent to Jambi’s total GRDP. These findings highlight the need for strengthened industrial policy strategies focused on enhancing labor capacity, expanding business unit development, and improving investment effectiveness to support regional economic diversification and resilience.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the existing facility layout at Tandi’s Bakery and to propose a more efficient arrangement using a systematic approach based on the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), Activity Relationship Worksheet (ARW), Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD), and Total Closeness Rating (TCR). The analysis reveals that the current layout is suboptimal, characterized by inappropriate placement of connecting doors, insufficient proximity between interdependent facilities, and a toilet location that is not aligned with the office area. These issues hinder workflow, increase material handling distances, and reduce overall operational efficiency. By evaluating the interrelationships among activities and determining priority levels of facility proximity, this study proposes an improved layout that includes relocating the toilet, reorganizing connecting doors, and restructuring production spaces according to process linkages. The proposed layout is expected to enhance workflow continuity, improve hygiene conditions, and support greater productivity within Tandi’s Bakery.

Abstract

Urban traffic congestion creates a unique environment where drivers are often captive audiences to roadside fast-food outlets and advertisements. This paper proposes a vision-driven impulsive purchase prediction system that simulates human-like vehicle vision using a Vision Transformer (ViT) model to detect fast-food outlet visibility, crowd levels, and promotional banner exposure in real-time. By integrating these visual cues, our system predicts the likelihood of impulsive stopping behavior (the “impulse score”) of drivers in heavy traffic. We collected and analyzed visual data from congested thoroughfares in major Indonesian cities (Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung) known for severe traffic jams. The proposed ViT-based model was trained to identify key features such as recognizable outlet signage, drive-thru queue lengths, and promotional signage, mirroring the attention patterns of human drivers. Experimental results demonstrate that the model achieves high accuracy in detecting relevant cues and predicting impulsive purchase decisions, with a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of around 12% in forecasting impulse stop rates. This work is the first to leverage a transformer-driven computer vision approach for modeling consumer impulsivity in traffic, bridging automotive perception and marketing analytics. The findings suggest that smart vehicle systems and urban planners can benefit from such technology to anticipate consumer behavior in traffic, optimize roadside advertising, and manage congestion-related demand surges at fast-food outlets.

Abstract

Engine oil plays a crucial role in maintaining engine performance and longevity, especially in hybrid vehicles, which have a more complex operating cycle compared to conventional vehicles. This study was conducted to analyze the effect of mileage on the quality of TMO 10W-30 engine oil in the Toyota Innova Zenix Hybrid M20A-FKS. The results showed that the farther the vehicle traveled, the more the oil quality deteriorated, with viscosity decreasing from 9.77 cSt to 8.06 cSt at 10,000 km. Wear metal analysis revealed that Fe increased from <1 ppm to 11 ppm, Cu from 1 ppm to 22 ppm, and Al from 2 ppm to 8 ppm at 10,000 km
