Artikel atau naskah yang dipublikasikan adalah hasil penelitian atau pendampingan/ konseptual atau studi pustaka namun bersifat obyektif dan sistematis yang ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia atau bahasa Inggris yang standar dan baku (bisa dipahami). Artikel atau naskah diterbitkan dalam bentuk cetak dan online. Untuk versi online, Kepariwisataan: Jurnal Ilmiah sudah terindeks Google Schoolar dan Garuda. Kepariwisataan: Jurnal Ilmiah pertama kali terbit pada bulan Januari 2007 dan diterbitkan dalam 3 (tiga) edisi setiap tahunnya, yaitu diterbitkan setiap bulan Januari, Mei dan September.

Abstract

Social media has became one of the marketing strategies by most of the companies to deliver their brands, products and services to customer. Apart from the advantages of the use of social media for companies, it is becoming difficult for companies to raise awareness for their brand because of the competition. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of social media on brand awareness of Amaris Hotel. The results of this research obtained from questionnaires that had been distributed to the respondents in Jakarta and processed with correlation method. The results shows that social media gives quite big and positive impact on building and establishing brand awareness of AYANA Amaris Hotel for 41,5%, and Instagram gives the biggest impact on brand awareness of Amaris Hotel. The level of brand awareness of Amaris Hotel has reached the highest level, Top of Mind level.Keywords: Social Media, Brand Awareness, Marketing, Amaris Hotel

Abstract

Yogyakarta is not only the city with favorite tourist destinations in Indonesia but also as an education city with students from around the countries and cities. Prawirotaman is a part of the area in Yogyakarta which is known as Kampung Inggris. This area has good potential in influencing and improving the students' motivation in learning English, especially for tourism students, because there are so many foreigners who stay in that area. With that atmosphere, the student can improve their English by practice with the native speakers. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of this research is to find out the impact of Prawirotaman in increasing the students’ motivation in learning English. This research shows that Prawirotaman has a good influence on the students who want to learn English directly with native speakers.Keyword: Prawirotaman, Kampung Inggris, Students Motivation, Learning English

Abstract

Rasulan is one of cultural festivals which can be found in Gunungkidul, one of the regencies in Yogyakarta Special Region. This tradition is usually held annually to express people’s gratitude for all the harvests. The local residents who mostly earn their living by cultivating their lands work together to conduct this festival by performing some kinds of activities ranging from sport competition, religious, and cultural performance. This research aims to describe the origin, sequences and the values of this tradition which party explain why the local people still preserve this festivity. An exploratory descriptive qualitative research is employed to reveal. Qualitative data are collected from documentation, and library research. In addition, some interviews are conducted to indulge more information from the village leaders who knows more about the development of this festivity. The obtained results reveal the sequence of activities from beginning until the end. This tradition also brings about various value such as religious, social, cultural and economical. This study brings some theoretical contribution and implications on the potentials of this event for tourists’ attraction.Keywords: cultural festival, motivations, perceptions, Rasulan, Gunungkidul

Abstract

One of many ecotourism potentials that exist in Indonesia is natural object that can be utilized by the community for watering purposes as well as for the tourist attraction, namely waterfalls. One of developing natural tourist attraction is Gembu Waterfall. This waterfall is located in Dusun Banyuwangi, Jatimulya Village, Girimulyo District, Kulon Progo Regency, Special Province of Yogyakarta. This research used qualitative method with SWOT analysis. From the results of the study, it was found that Gembor Waterfall is worthy as a tourist destination, which is expected to improve the economy of the community.Keywords: Waterfall, Tourism Destination, Ecotourism

Abstract

Innovation is an important factor that important to be noticed by the tourism village community to face tourism readiness in the era of new habits. Especially in the era of new habits, tourism destinations need to have a strategy as an effort to recover from the effects of the Covid19 pandemic. This research uses qualitative descriptive methodology with data collection techniques through secondary data collection and key informant interviews in Candran Tourism Village, Bantul. The study found that the community of the tourist village of Candran, Bantul, were aware of this. Therefore, they innovate by making agricultural fermentation activities for their livestock, as well as adding tourist attractions.Keywords: Inovation, Village Tourism, Agrotourism, New Normal Era

Abstract

The diversity of Sikka culture is reflected in the art of weaving that is a symbol of the great tribal and indigenous people of Sikka that need to be lifted to the surface and be preserved. The method that the authors use in this research is a qualitative method. The diversity of woven fabric in the Sikka district has a different meaning and meaning not only to art, but it has also considered a social, religious, cultural,and economic symbol. With the growth of many young generation which have begun to ignore the culture woven into the fabric. The need for cooperation between government, weavers, and community inside preserve of weaving culture and preserving culture heritage is not lost in the ingestion of the era.Keywords: Ikat Sikka Weaving, Tourism Culture, SWOT Analysis

Abstract

Culinary is one of the essential factors of tourism activities including Indonesia Tourism. Lamongan City is also one of the cities that has several types of typical culinary which is an attraction for culinary connoisseurs, especially the local communities or domestic tourists from other cities. This culinary is called Boranan rice or “sego Boranan”, which is authentic and only sold in Lamongan city. Therefore, the potential can be developed, introduced and become a special attraction for the tourists to come over Lamongan. The research method used in this scientific article is a descriptive qualitative research method using data collection techniques namely observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The results of the study revealed that Boranan rice has a pretty good potential to be a culinary tourist attraction for the city of Lamongan. In addition, the promotion carried out by the Lamongan city government through the Lamongan city disparbud has also been done quite well. However, good cooperation is still needed between the government and the sellers of Boranan rice, therefore the marketing and preservation of Boranan rice can run well in the future.Keywords: culinary tourism, destination attraction, east java, boranan rice

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the characteristics of the community around tourist sites. This research uses descriptive study where data obtained from direct interviews with sources of data and direct observation in the study site. Methods of data collection is the way researchers get the data required in the conduct of research on sources of research data. It was concluded that the characteristics of the surrounding communities with the development of attractions like Mekarsari showed the positive impact, more choice of livelihood for the inhabitants of surrounding areas such as whether they wish to be employees, as entrepreneurship, or as traders. However, these positive effects are not accompanied by increased levels of public education around the village Mekarsari. This is due to the understanding of higher education has not been considered important, and also the villagers consider that the modest education (elementary, senior high school, high school) has been able to earn money, whether as laborers, trade or wiraswasta (open stalls).Keywords: Characteristics, Public, Mekarsari parc

Abstract

Yogyakarta is a popular destination as a place of ecotourism, currently, there are about 182 ecotourism objects. Following the development of regional and national competition, this research attempts to improve the competitiveness of ecotourism Yogyakarta by using the concept of competition strategy Porter's Diamond Model produces findings that the level of Yogyakarta ecotourism competitiveness is at MEDIUM level or has a value of 2.39 from 3 scale. The competitiveness aspect includes the Factor Conditions (FC) at the MEDIUM level (score 2.00), Demand Conditions (FS) at the MEDIUM level (score 2.50), Firm Structure, Strategy, and Rivalry(FOR) at the MEDIUM level (score 2.33); Support and Related Industries(SRI) at the Medium level (score 2.33); Government Role at the MEDIUM level (score 2.50), and Chance Factor at the MEDIUM level (score 2.67).Keywords: Daya Saing, Porter’s Diamond Model, Ekowisata

Abstract

Jati Larangan and Sengon Park are two objects in Iroyudan, which hold cultural and historical potential. This area has a historical site that holds many folk tales as well as a source of both cultural and economic values for the local community. This study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach, namely research that aims to make a systematic, factual and accurate description of a social or natural phenomenon, by collecting data, then analyzing it with elaborative explanations. Aspects of 5A (Attractions, Activities, Accessibilities, Accommodations, and Amenities) that still seem unfulfilled in tourism management in Iroyudan are accommodation, where until now there are no accommodation facilities available around the Jati Larangan or Sengon Park. In addition, some improvements are needed both in terms of quality and quantity for several components of the other 5As.Keywords: Attractions, Activities, Accessibilities, Accommodations, and Amenities
