Responsive gender education is a foundation of women?s empowerment. It is conducted not to create a higher statue for women. In the contrary, it is held to improve the independency, power and participation of women in order to avoid discrimination often happened to them. Therefore, a co-operative work by government, the private (non- government) institutions, independent institutions, and stakeholders of gender issue is expected to produce better public adjustments of gender. The gender mainstream will not only encourage to a stabilized and adjusted gender, but also will hold the government accountability of public to be in increase.

The existence of mass media that dominated by western has abig influence to spread the exploitation idea, especially to islamic country. Politicly, the western has willing to demage the muslim society with idea and culture war as replacing the physic war. The exploitation ideas has been recieved by muslimah and becomean instrumental to spread the idea in the society. The muslimah effort to exist in the world become without the religious norm. Sometimes they go aut from their house a porbidden purpose by religious thought and open the part of the body wich may not be visible by other, free sexual intercourse. Ironicly, this attitudes become a new life styale, and the religious thought was regarded as limitation to their life style.Now can be found muslimah in television station, advertising, commercialization of publications, and they are become the popular idol of today?s modern muslimah.For the problem, islamic thought give best solution. Only back to Alquran and hadis can minimize the women axploitation. Alquran give guidence for muslimah to cover the part of body wich may not be visible by other and select the culture can accept ang suitable with islmic thought. From this, muslimash have to be given islamic thought orientation to increase their faith until they can free from the exploitation activity.

Gender is one of the fenomenal opinion that talks a lot in the world. There are many options to understand about Gender but it will difficult to combine the form of definition because some people think that the differtent between the men and the women is seen by the sex attribute. Gender is the diffeternt between the men and the women that should be understood based on the construct of society in value and act. Gender in the Islamic perspective in seeing the different between the men and the women when they can be the same to live their life by the same opportunity in their duties on domestic as well as in the public. Most important thing is understand that al-Quran an Hadis can give the explanation about the misogynic paradigm in women roles.

Housing finance (KPR), one of the leading products held by the Bank Syariah Mandiri has many devotees especially women. Based on the writer?s analysis, the reason underlying the high demand of women make housing finance is for the future of their families. Most of Bank Syariah Mandiri in Indonesia in general provide housing finance as a favorite product for women than many other products. In addition, another interesting product for women is automobile finance for buying a new car or a second hand one. Automobile finance is not many as housing finance.

Fiqh is conceptually an integral part of syari?ah, since the former is an interpretation of the latter. As an interpretation, fiqh is a sort of ijtihad. Therefore, fiqh an interpretation on all matters related to women?is concequently also an ijtihad, which is subject to any changes in accordance with the changes of social development. In this era, women should not only be active in domestic matters, but should also be active in social life. Whereas fiqh concerning domestic matters must hold the principle of mu?asyarah bi al-ma?ruf, it must hold the principle of equality between man and women when the social life is concerned.

This paper attempts to understand and analyze issues of gender relations between men and women according to the Qur?an with the two sub-points. First, how is gender identity used in the Qur'an. Second, how does the Qur?an speaks of gender equality? The position of women from history has influenced the understanding of most Islamic scholars. Even some of what is considered religion, in fact it is derived from culture and those views. This precisely caused the difference opinion about partnership of men and women. Understanding religious texts even any text is influenced by many factors. It is not only knowledge but also the level of educational background, culture and social condition of society. Meanwhile, it is also misunderstanding the text and the background to understand the nature of language.

Since the last decades of twentieth century, gender discourse has become a hot issue among Indonesian Muslim intellectuals. This phenomenon cannot be detached from international socio-intellectual constellation. In 1970?s, gender issue became a significant discourse in England. From then on, the discourse spread to many countries, including Indonesia. The result is that many Western perspectives on the issue inspired Muslim intellectuals. One of the influences is the using of terms such as ?domination?, ?sub-ordination?, and ?equality?. This article tries to describe how the perceptions of domination, sub-ordination, and equality emerged in Western culture. This is followed by examples of Muslim intellectuals? thoughts inspired by the perspective. Finally, the writer will provide a concept of relationship of man and woman based on an understanding on Qur?anic verses. It is argued that man and woman are equal in terms of quality. Yet, man and woman may differ if quantity is concerned.

This article deals with wali nikah (relative legally responsible for a bride) as a requirement in a wedding process. Majority of Islamic scholars (fuqaha), and also Indonesian Islamic law, always refers to male relative when they talk about wali nikah. On the other hand, contemporary Islamic scholars even give a bride a freedom to get married without a wali nikah. While the first opinion may lead to gender inequality and injustice, the latter opinion is very dangerous. From historical approach, the opinion that wali nikah always refers to male relative can be traced from Islamic legislation prescribed in the Qur?an and hadits. Referring to some contemporary Islamic scholars and muhadditsin, the writer contends that wali nikah is not an obligatory rule (rukun) of a marriage, but only serves as a monitoring apparatus. Suppose wali nikah must exist, it does not necessarily come from a bride side, but may come from a bridegroom side. Moreover, the order of wali nikah may differ from what is compiled in Islamic legal thought (fiqh).

Fiqh is a product of the dialectic between text, context and objectivity-subjectivity of a faqih. One of fiqh?s product is legal rules of women?s live. Most of the scholars who produce ijtihad in fiqh are men. Jurisprudence which is set out by men as dominant society such in the Middle East region, of course will produce patriarchy fiqh. Now it is a time to renew and to reconstruct Islamic concepts that give women more opportunity to be present as a highly dynamic person, courteous and helpful person to the religion and society. Women are not as human who are confined to four walls of house, every day just walking to the room, kitchen, and well.
