Abstract

The implementation of 21st-century education requires teachers’ creativity in designing learning activities that integrate appropriate media, instructional design, and assessment. However, in practice, many schools have not yet optimally integrated digital learning tools. This study aims to describe the design, product quality, and effectiveness of a Discovery Learning-based e-book on the topic of animal life cycles in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject for fourth-grade elementary students. The research involved 28 fourth-grade students as participants. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through questionnaires and tests. The findings reveal that: (1) the e-book was systematically and structurally designed following the ADDIE model; (2) the quality of the Discovery Learning-based e-book was rated “very good” by content experts (92.86%), instructional design experts (95.45%), and media experts (94.32%). Individual and small group trials also showed highly satisfactory results, each achieving 100%; (3) analysis of pretest and posttest data using the t-test indicated that the tvalue (7.213) was higher than the ttable value (1.703) at a 5% significance level, confirming a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after using the e-book. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning-based e-book is effective for use in IPAS learning for fourth-grade students and supports improved understanding of the animal life cycle. The study also highlights the practical implications of e-books as effective learning media in elementary education.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students' mathematics, especially in flat building materials, are caused by traditional learning methods, limited interactive media, and lack of active participation of students in the learning process. This study aims to create animated video learning materials based on the Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) approach. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model which was chosen because it is systematic and suitable to produce products in the form of POE-based animation learning media (Predict, Observe, Explain). The research subjects consisted of two groups, namely experts and students. The experts involved include learning media experts, learning design experts, and material experts who are in charge of assessing the feasibility of the product, while the field trial involved grade V students of SD Negeri 6 Sanur. The trial was carried out in stages ranging from individual tests, small group tests, to field tests with a total of 24 students. The data collection technique in this study uses several instruments, namely a closed questionnaire to assess product quality by experts and student response, multiple-choice tests (pre-test and post-test). The results showed a substantial improvement in student learning outcomes (tcount = 15.618> ttable = 1.714, p <0.05). The normal distribution was revealed from the results of the normality test of pre-test and post-test data (Xcount = 7.21 and 9.74 < Xtable = 11.07). This media has been shown to increase students' learning motivation while helping them understand the idea of the diameter and area of a flat building.

Abstract

Research on transformational leadership in education still leaves several gaps, particularly regarding its effectiveness when integrated into dormitory-based programs that adopt a flexible curriculum combined with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) framework. The challenge lies in how such a combination can systematically foster both hard and soft skills of university students in a holistic learning environment. This study aims to analyze the impact of transformational leadership combined with the MBKM Free Form-integrated dormitory program on student competency development. Using a quantitative descriptive design based on percentage analysis, the study involved 109 students as research subjects and employed a structured closed-ended questionnaire for data collection. The findings reveal that the program substantially enhances student competencies through role modeling, enthusiasm, encouragement of creativity, and opportunities for practice. Among the dimensions of transformational leadership, idealized influence emerged as the most influential factor, followed by inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation, while individualized consideration showed relatively lower effectiveness. The study concludes that the integration of transformational leadership with MBKM Free Form dormitory programs provides a strategic pathway for developing students’ holistic competencies. The implications suggest that higher education institutions may adopt similar approaches to design effective programs that cultivate both academic and personal growth, thereby preparing students for dynamic future challenges.

Abstract

The integration of technology in higher education has positioned e-learning and m-learning as primary modes of instruction. However, their effectiveness in supporting student achievement and satisfaction has rarely been compared comprehensively. This study compares e-learning and m-learning by analyzing student learning outcomes and perceptions using the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) Matrix. The sample consisted of two classes enrolled in the same course, each using either e-learning or m-learning. Assessment scores were used to measure academic performance, while a perception questionnaire was analyzed through IPA to map the strengths and weaknesses of each platform. The results show that students in the m-learning group achieved higher academic outcomes and reported more positive perceptions, particularly in content quality, technical reliability, and ease of use. In contrast, the e-learning group demonstrated weaknesses in technical and user experience aspects. Overall, the study concludes that m-learning is more effective and satisfying, offering greater potential to support digital learning—especially for digital-native students in higher education context.

Abstract

Developing creativity in the current era is essential, as creativity represents the outcome of new ways of thinking that support problem-solving skills. This study aims to examine the influence of the revitalization of the ecoprinting technique on strengthening character education among prospective elementary school teachers. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a Non-Equivalent Group Design. The population consisted of all second-semester PGSD students, and the sample was determined using purposive sampling. The research instrument was an observation sheet validated by experts, yielding a score of 94%, indicating it was highly feasible. Data collection was carried out through participant observation, where the researcher was directly involved in field activities to observe how students’ character education developed through the application. The results showed a significant influence of the ecoprinting revitalization technique on strengthening character education in prospective teachers. This was evidenced by hypothesis testing, which produced a Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Thus, the technique proved effective in reinforcing character education. In conclusion, this study contributes to generating new ideas for prospective teachers in creating educational media. Teachers are encouraged to develop learning media that promote active, creative, and character-building learning. The implication of this research is that students are given the opportunity to explore and develop their character through the media they create, while teachers act as facilitators who provide guidance and serve as role models.
