Abstract

Purpose: Menstrual health is a significant component of women's lives that is frequently disregarded, particularly when it comes to extracurricular activities. The objective of this study is to identify disparities in menstrual hygiene practices, premenstrual syndrome, and mood swings among female students who participate in sports and those engaged in non-sports extracurricular activities. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 129 female students in senior high school, consisting of 60 students involved in sports extracurricular activities and 69 students not involved in non-sports extracurricular (age= 16.62 ± 0.77 y.o., height= 155.24 ± 5.15 cm, weight= 47.26 ± 8.29 kg, first menstrual period 12.49 ± 1.21 y). The present study employed instruments socio-demographic characteristics, as well as validated questionnaires on menstrual hygiene practices, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and mood swings. Result: The results showed that poor menstrual hygiene practices in students who participated in extracurricular sports with those who did not participate in sports activities were 29 and 35 students, respectively. Students who were involved in non-sports activities exhibited more severe and moderate symptoms of PMS compared to sports students. Additionally, sports students experienced more positive mood swings, while non-sports students reported more negative mood swings. Furthermore, significant differences between female students engaged in sports and those involved in non-sports extracurricular activities were only found in mood swings, neither in menstrual hygiene practices (0.910) nor PMS symptoms (0.776). Conclusion: Schools should promote female students' participation in sports to enhance their emotional well-being. Additionally, they should emphasize menstrual hygiene education and awareness to ensure proper practices among all students. Developing targeted interventions to help students manage PMS symptoms and maintain positive mood swings is also crucial for improving menstrual health and emotional well-being among adolescents.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between wrist flexibility and hand-eye coordination on the results of backhand drive shots. Materials and Methods: This research includes quantitative research with a correlation approach. The population of this study was 20 table tennis athletes of the Lubuklinggau City NPC Club. To determine the sample, purposive sampling was used, namely active athletes as many as 16 athletes. The data analysis used is the correlation test. Result: Based on the results of data analysis, wrist flexibility has a relationship to the results of backhand drive shots with a correlation value (r) = 0.661, a significant relationship and a strong level of relationship. Hand-eye coordination is a relationship to the results of the backhand drive with a correlation value (r) = 0.591, a significant relationship and a moderate level of relationship. The results of the multiple correlation test between wrist flexibility and hand-eye coordination, based on the results of the backhand drive correlation value (r) = 0.506, show a significant relationship with a moderate level of relationship. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between Wrist Flexibility and Hand-Eye Coordination in Table Tennis Backhand Drive Stroke Results.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the influence of Moderate-Intensity Continuous Training (MICT) combined with a two-touch game on the passing and receiving abilities of Persebra U15 soccer players. MICT was conducted at an intensity of 40-60% of maximum heart rate for 45 minutes per session, three times a week, for six weeks. Players performed continuous passing and receiving drills within a small-sided game that allowed a maximum of two touches per player. Materials and Methods: This study used a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design with 10 Persebra U15 players. Passing and receiving skills were assessed using standard tests before and after the 6-week intervention. Result: Paired t-test analysis showed a significant improvement in mean passing and receiving scores from pre- to post-test (mean difference 1.0, p=0.015). Conclusion: The findings suggest that MICT combined with a two-touch, small-sided game can effectively enhance the essential technical skills of young soccer players. Improving passing and receiving abilities through structured training leads to the positive development of individual playing skills and team performance

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to determine the impact of implementing verbal augmented feedback on lay-up exercises among college sports education students. Materials and Methods: This research uses experimental research with a quantitative approach. Experimental research involves manipulating one or more variables to influence the variable being measured. The research population is sports education students from the class of 2022 STKIP PGRI Bangkalan. This study's data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 22. Result: In the normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, the significance is 0.078, which means it is more significant than 0.05, so it is stated that it is normally distributed. In the comparison of the descriptive statistics table, the mean pre-test and post-test post-test showed an increase in results, so the provision of treatment on the test instrument can be stated as excellent and acceptable. In the Hypothesis test using the Paired sample T-test, the results of the post-test and pre-test significance values of the right and left lay-ups were smaller than 0.05. So, it is stated that the 2 hypothesis variables above are included in the acceptable significance value. Conclusion: Providing verbal augmented feedback greatly influences students' understanding of theory and practice through communication interactions. In its implementation, implementing verbal augmented feedback requires sufficient time to determine the implementation schedule, facilities and infrastructure, as well as evaluating notes to determine each student's progress at each meeting. Verbal augmented feedback is an old method that coaches often use during training sessions, but they often need to be made aware of this. So, the method of implementing verbal augmented feedback can be explored further by lecturers, teachers, and trainers to provide an understanding of the material provided through communication interactions (feedback).

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the correlation between eye-hand coordination, agility, and dribbling skills in U12 Jaguar Pantherchildren. Materials and Methods: The study was a correlational investigation that included ten male participants under 12 and belonged to the Jaguar Panther group. The eye-hand coordination test (ball throw and catch test), agility test (T-run), and basketball dribbling test (Aahperd Basketball Control Dribble Test) were utilized to conduct the measurements. Result: The statistical analysis revealed that the relationship between eye-hand coordination and dribbling ability is significant at 0.063. Similarly, the relationship between agility and dribbling ability has a significance value of 0.173. Additionally, the relationship between eye-hand coordination, agility, and dribbling ability has a significance value of 0.057. Conclusion: All three significance values were greater than 0.05, indicating a lack of significant relationship between eye-hand coordination, agility, and dribbling ability in U12 Jaguar Panther children.
