Abstract

At the 2023 International Handball Federation (IHF) Men's World Championship, Denmark successfully defended its title by beating France with a final score of 34-29. Both teams have extraordinary shooting skills. Therefore, the author wants to analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats of the shooting skills of both teams in the final match. The researcher's aim is to analyze shooting techniques to determine strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, which can serve as a guide and reference for implementing shooting technique training. The research method uses SWOT analysis with the results of observing the success and failure of shooting technique skills carried out by Danish and French players. The results show that when doing a flying shot, it is when flying that has an efficient effect on getting success in getting points. On the other hand, Denmark has a weakness in Fall shots and France has a weakness in Jump shots because the percentage of failures is higher than successes. Failure of this type of shooting can be analyzed based on mechanical factors in shooting such as stride length and movement distance which must be increased. Abstract

Purpose: Menstrual health is a significant component of women's lives that is frequently disregarded, particularly when it comes to extracurricular activities. The objective of this study is to identify disparities in menstrual hygiene practices, premenstrual syndrome, and mood swings among female students who participate in sports and those engaged in non-sports extracurricular activities. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 129 female students in senior high school, consisting of 60 students involved in sports extracurricular activities and 69 students not involved in non-sports extracurricular (age= 16.62 ± 0.77 y.o., height= 155.24 ± 5.15 cm, weight= 47.26 ± 8.29 kg, first menstrual period 12.49 ± 1.21 y). The present study employed instruments socio-demographic characteristics, as well as validated questionnaires on menstrual hygiene practices, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and mood swings. Result: The results showed that poor menstrual hygiene practices in students who participated in extracurricular sports with those who did not participate in sports activities were 29 and 35 students, respectively. Students who were involved in non-sports activities exhibited more severe and moderate symptoms of PMS compared to sports students. Additionally, sports students experienced more positive mood swings, while non-sports students reported more negative mood swings. Furthermore, significant differences between female students engaged in sports and those involved in non-sports extracurricular activities were only found in mood swings, neither in menstrual hygiene practices (0.910) nor PMS symptoms (0.776). Conclusion: Schools should promote female students' participation in sports to enhance their emotional well-being. Additionally, they should emphasize menstrual hygiene education and awareness to ensure proper practices among all students. Developing targeted interventions to help students manage PMS symptoms and maintain positive mood swings is also crucial for improving menstrual health and emotional well-being among adolescents.

Abstract

Physical activity with eccentric movements has the potential to cause delayed pain after 24 hours. Efflurage and shaking manipulation are thought to be able to reduce delayed pain due to these activities. This study attempts to prove this hypothesis by conducting a study with a pretest and posttest experimental design. 15 people were selected using a purposive sampling method and then divided into 3 groups (X1: efflurage, X2: shaking, X3: control). Delayed pain was produced through squats, sumo squats, and lunges in 4 sets of 12 repetitions. Efflurage and shaking manipulations were performed for 10 minutes. Pain intensity was measured using a visual analogue scale. Pain intensity was measured 24, 48, and 72 hours after eccentric activity. In the first 24 hours, all groups experienced excruciating pain (VAS> 8). After intervention, the VAS value of X1 decreased by 38% in the first 24 hours, then decreased by 23.8% in the second 24 hours, and decreased by 38% in the third 24 hours. Meanwhile, the VAS X2 value decreased consecutively from 46.34% to 21.95% to 29.26% in the first to third 24 hours. The influence and difference test of X1 and X2 showed significant results (p <0.05) in the measurements of 24, 48, and 72 hours. The conclusion of the study showed that the response of shaking manipulation in reducing pain intensity occurred in the first 24 hours, while effluent manipulation successfully eliminated pain completely at 72 hours.
