TAKAMUL is a journal of Gender and Child Studies is published by Pusat Studi Wanita Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. First published in 2012, this journal is published twice a year in June and December. This is a scientific communication media for enthusiasts and observers of gender and children study. The editor receives articles of gender and children study from academics, researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students. The articles will be published after a mechanism of selection, being examined by the expert, and editing process. This journal is open-access which means that everyone can access for individual or institution for free. A user will be allowed reading, downloading, copying, distributing, producing, creating a link from the article, or using for academic writing under the condition of publication ethics. This journal has been indexed by national and international indexing website, such as CrossRef. And this journal has Digital Object Identifier (DOI). Abstract

This research aims to reveal the construction of gender stereotypes manifested in early childhood education practices in educational institutions, especially early childhood education. Using a qualitative approach, this research involved 15 early childhood education teachers selected from five early childhood education institutions located in Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with class teachers. The results of the research show that there are various perceptions of teachers related to early childhood education that are influenced by gender construction. Some teachers still apply practices that differentiate the treatment between boys and girls, such as the type of games given, the type of punishment applied, as well as expectations for the abilities and interests of each gender. This finding indicates that the gender construction that has been internalized by teachers affects the learning process and the formation of children's gender identity from an early age.Keywords: Construction, gender stereotypes, educational practices, PAUD AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap konstruksi stereotipe gender termanifestasi dalam praktik pendidikan anak usia dini di lembaga pendidikan, khususnya PAUD. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 15 orang guru PAUD yang dipilih dari lima lembaga PAUD yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan guru kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya beragam persepsi guru terkait pendidikan anak usia dini yang dipengaruhi oleh konstruksi gender. Beberapa guru masih menerapkan praktik yang membedakan perlakuan antara anak laki-laki dan perempuan, seperti jenis permainan yang diberikan, jenis hukuman yang diterapkan, serta ekspektasi terhadap kemampuan dan minat masing-masing gender. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa konstruksi gender yang telah terinternalisasi oleh guru mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran dan pembentukan identitas gender anak sejak usia dini. Kata Kunci: Konstruksi, streotype gender, praktik pendidikan, PAUD

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the gender issue in English language teaching. This study employed a descriptive qualitative research design. All relevant information on occurrences or situations that align with the study's theme was collected. The information was gathered by reading and assessing books, journal articles, and student theses on gender concepts and gender in language and English Language Teaching. Three key points are shown by the study's findings. It first highlights the concept of gender. Second, it emphasizes how gender affects language use. Third, it discusses the gender-related subjects that scholars in the field of English Language Teaching have explored.

Abstract

The post  disaster of tsunami-earthquake on December 26, 2004 and predicted severe conditions such epidemic but  not proven, it's an interesting thing to study. The study aims to explore the behavior of the family of  Banda Aceh faces outbreaks diseases through the contamination of the wound so as to prevent an outbreak of post disaster. Exploratory qualitative research with data sources from the family and key persons. Data was collected through interviews in the three districts of Banda Aceh on the different categories of disasters. The results of the study there was a positive family behavior in the prevention of infectious diseases outbreak the disaster. The study concluded the presence of  behavioral local wisdom of the family in the prevention of infectious diseases through wound contamination in the form of caring for his own adapted to the availability of remedy or medicine, wiping the wound with clean water or heated, close the wound with a clean cloth, went to officer / places health services. Suggestions in this study; as learning to be applied other countries as well as necessary to prove the use of leaf Seurapoh wound care family for medicinal.

Abstract

The existence of ethnic Chinese in Blangpidie before Indonesia's independence and even until now has carried out religious conversion. This study aims to determine what factors influence the decision of Chinese women to convert to Islam in Blangpidie and the form of social interaction between converts and the community in Blangpidie in everyday life. This study uses a qualitative approach to make it easier to obtain valid data through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusions. The results of the study indicate that there are several factors that influence the decision of Chinese women to convert, namely divine factors, psychological factors, educational factors, mental/mental pressure factors, and social factors. The form of social interaction between converts and the community in Blangpidie in everyday life is very good in behavior, mutual respect, respect for others, mutual help between each other, love of peace and harmony. This can be seen from the form of cooperation and concern that exists between converts and the Blangpidie community.

Abstract

Parental support is important to maintain and encourage children's growth and development, especially at the age of five years. Stunting is a polemic for parents and an unavoidable problem, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia. Stunting is caused by chronic malnutrition and infections that occur at an early age of child growth and development. The purpose of this study is to analyze parental support in preventing stunting in toddlers. Studies with literature analysis conducted on the google scholar online database with accessible Indonesian text articles. The study results from seven articles analyzed various parental support in preventing stunting for their toddlers which are influenced by parental knowledge and awareness as well as positive behavior in supporting stunting prevention. The study findings investigate the need for parents' awareness and seriousness in providing support to maintain the nation's golden generation in the future.
