Abstract

The protracted conflict in Aceh made women feel more suffering, both physically and mentally. Women are the backbone of the family because their husbands are kidnapped, killed, wandering in search of a safe place. Women who are abandoned by their husbands are often faced with negative stigma. The term woman as the head of the family is an effort to change the view of widowed women to be positioned in the position of roles and responsibilities as the head of the family. Women can be independent with support from various parties towards independent and prosperous, just and dignified families. Post-conflict women as heads of families have a role in women's economic empowerment such as women's savings and loans, joining cooperatives of non-governmental organizations and contributing to village development and development.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper intends to describe the Sufis woman in Aceh, known as Pocut di Butong contained in the manuscript. The long history of Sufism in Aceh provides a crucial role for the people of Acehnese. Aceh, also known as Serambi Mecca, at that time of Islamic law was implemented. The existence of Sufi or carriers of Sufism is so essential that these teachings continue to develop. Sufi in Aceh have been popular with men for their disregard for women. Among female Sufis, their existence is minimal and not written in any history. The most often mentioned is Rabiah al-Adawiyah, but more female Sufis still need to be published, and it is different if the character is male. This study is a manuscript review of ‘Munajat Perempuan Sufi Aceh Pocut di Beutong’ regarding the existence and role of a female Sufis with the initial Pocut di Beutong. The study results show that the poems in the book ‘Munajat Wanita Sufi Aceh’ explain that the existence and role of Pocut di Beutong was very significant at that time. This can be seen from the history recounted in the book regarding how Pocut di Beutong also helped defend the land of Aceh in different ways, such as praying, teaching, developing practice, and attempting to get closer to Allah. This is just as important as Cut Nyak Dien and other female heroes going to war. Keywords: Manuscript; Sufis Woman; Aceh.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the legal protection and resiliency of the families of Aceh's female victims of post-peace conflict. From the outbreak of war to the end of hostilities, women have been the most affected group. This study is qualitative research employing an ethnographic methodology and analyzing the data from a gender perspective. The ethnography was conducted in three different locations: Nagan Raya, Pidie, and North Aceh. Utilized data collection methods include interviews, observation, and literature review. According to the findings of the study, the government has given legal protection to female victims of armed conflict in a variety of ways, including the establishment of a legal umbrella, the creation of special institutions, the provision of support, and thorough rehabilitation. Even though this is not evenly divided, it is vital for institutions, particularly those that care for orphans, to engage in gender-sensitive, sustainable management, and collaboration. The struggle has a significant impact on the psychological, physical, economic, social, and cultural demands of women, as well as the future of their children. Despite the fact that the conflict impacts family resilience owing to the death of family members and economic hardship, from a gender perspective, families can survive and even thrive in the face of life's difficulties. The majority of them come to accept the catastrophe, and their psychological pain is exacerbated by their religious beliefs. Although others have not been able to accept and find it difficult to forget the trauma of the conflict that has occurred.
