Abstract

Study on the evaluation of the existence of Shorea platyclados Slooten ex Endert (meranti bukit, meranti gunung, meranti tenam) on its natural habitat was conducted on May 2014 in Bukit Daun Protection Forest, Central Bengkulu District, Bengkulu. Exploration and inventarisation were designed in a semi-permanent plot, in which S. platyclados is used as the center of circle plot for vegetation analysis. Results showed that the distribution of S. platyclados is clump on steep valley, with its altitude is in between 400 – 600 m asl. Shorea platyclados was a dominant species on tree stage with good regeneration in all stage with IVI = 88.00%. Pole stages were dominated by Lindera subumbelliflora (Blume) Kostermans with IVI =10.58%, and seedling stage was dominated by Syzygium cymosum DC. with IVI =7.48%. The existence of S. platyclados in Bukit Daun Protected Forest, Central Bengkulu District was not endangered.

Abstract

Kaba is the legend of Minangkabau people. It is a great literature in Minang and it has an important role in Minangkabau society. In Minang, it put matrilineal term . It is an intercommunication with the kinship system that is adhered materilined community, it is very interesting to examine the existence of these female figures. This study aims to describe the profile of women in “Kaba Cindua Mato” especially in Minangkabau society. This research includes descriptive studies. The profile of women is reflected as in “Kaba Cindua Mato” those whose sense of responsibility in life. This study is expected to encourage women of Minangkabau, so, they do not forget the Minangkabau culture.

Abstract

According to the Indonesian Government Regulation No. 101 of 2000, the education and training system covers the process of identifying needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of education and training. Edu- cation and training is aimed to prepare employees to meet the requirements and needs of the organization, includ- ing procurement of leaders and staff cadres. The purposes of this study are to identify the factors of education and training as well as performance indicators and to analyze the factors that are the most dominant influences on the performance of employees at PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk South Jakarta. Human resources referred to in this research are permanent employees of PT Telkom, who take part in education and training. The research was conducted by questionnaire to 100 employees in the unit of Customer Service (CS) at PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk South Jakarta. The sampling method was conducted by Judgement Sampling. The method of hypothesis testing uses the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with Smart PLS Software 2.0.

Abstract

Power generation from photovoltaic (PV) power is affected by radiation intensity of the sun and temperature of the environment. PV can produce maximum power when its position to the sun is optimum. The objective of this research is to control PV position toward the sun by using an active tracking system in order to produce optimum electric power. Two Light DependentResistor (LDR) sensors were placed on the east and west side of the PV, and a balance was placed in between. When the sun is on the east side from 7 a.m to 11 a.m the east LDR was exposed to light, while the west LDR was covered by balancer. When the sun is on the west side from 1 p.m to 5 p.m, west LDR was exposed to the light, while the east LDR was covered by balancer. The light intensity difference that is received by each LDR showed that an active tracking system would conduct a control action to PV position so that it will be perpendicular to the sun. The testing result showed that the difference of maximum power was 39,88 watt. It also showed that the active tracking system with single axis type could become a reference for maximum solar utilization.

Abstract

The existence of macrozoobenthos in an coastal waters, can be used as indicators the physical quality of water. The aim of this study is to analyze the diversity and community structure of macrozoobenthos in coastal waters of South Biak waters. Research was conducted in Maret-Nopember 2011, in the coastal waters of South Biak. Sampling using a transect quadrant. Macrozoobenthos samples was preserve in formalin solution 10% and was identified in the laboratory. The value of diversity, similarity and dominance will be calculated from the data, and its relationship with environmental factors. The results was found 101 species by 3572 the number of individuals who are scattered in four stations (Paray, Ambroben, Yenures, and Sorido stations). Makrozoobenthos types were found consisting of four phyla (Annelida, Arthropoda, Echinodermata and Mollusca) derived from 8 classes of Polichaeta, crustaceans, Ophiuroidea, Echinodermata, Holothuroidea, Amphineura, Gastropoda and Bivalves. Value index of diversity (H ‘) ranged between 1, 1354 to 2.8011, Paray and Sorido waters are not polluted waters, and waters Ambroben and Yenures is being polluted waters. Uniformity value (E) ranged from 0.3407 to 0.7666, indicating the existence of species that dominate (approaching 0) and shows the uniformity of all types in the population (approaching 1).

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the greenhouse gases (GHG) sources and sinks. Inventory of GHG emis­ sionsintheagriculturalsectorisdonebyapplyingtheprincipleof  measurable,reportable,verifiableorMRV, thusGHGmeasurement resultsarenotbiasedorunder/overestimate, reliable,andcheaper.The researchaimedto assess the most effective retrieval sampling time and measurement of greenhouse gas at different water manage­ mentsinricefield.Thefirstfactortreatmentwasthemanagementofirrigationwaterintheformsofcontinuous andintermittentirrigationusingarandomizedblockdesignwhichwasreplicatedthreetimes.Thesecondfactor treatmentwasthegassamplingtimeat6–7,9–10,12–13,15–16,and18–19.ObserveddatawasCO andCH fluxes.TheresultsshowedthatintermittentirrigationcouldreduceCH emissionsmorethan27%comparedto continuousirrigation.BasedonPearsoncorrelationvalue,samplingtimeandmeasurementofCO andCH were the most effective at 15–16 with correlation values of 0.901 and 0.984, respectively.

Abstract

On the preparation of the Ni-Mo catalysts, a high of surface area of the support was needed in order to achieve the well dispersion of Mo on the support. One of the promising ways is the use of pillared clays as the support. Therefore, the preparation of pillared clay for a support of Ni-Mo catalyst and its effect on the hydrodesulfurization (HDS) reaction for sulfur removal of Coker naphtha were studied. The effects of pH of the Mo impregnation solutions were also studied. The results show that the pillarization process on clay using Al-pillared is signifi  cantly increased the surface area. Moreover, with the pH of the impregnation solution of 10, Mo is higher dispersed on the pillared clay support compared to pH-1, and thus the HDS activity of NiMo pillared clay catalyst of pH-10 is also more active. However, the HDS activity of the present catalysts is still not good enough compared to the commercial NiMo catalyst.

Abstract

A study about compatibility of characteristic of hydraulic rams (hidram) pump and rain harvest with localcharacteristics (location and society) in Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, has been done. Data includingsecondary data such as characteristic of hidram pump and rain harvest, and primary data from questionnaire.The respondent are from stakeholders in Ende Regency such as public works department, regional company forwater supply (PDAM), regional agency for development planning (Bappeda), and water supply consultant. Dataanalysis was using descriptive analysis. Compatibility of technology application is seen in the aspect of needs,society empowerment, energy saving, cost, social, and cultural at Ende Regency. The study result showed thathidram pump technology compatible to be applied in Ende but needs to be studied about material standard andmodification for increasing efficiency of hidram pump. Rain harvest technology can be applied at Ende but need amodification about disinfection and filtering process before consumed.

Abstract

The optical extensometer based optical fiber have been designed by Single Mode Optical Fiber with the basic component are light, optical fiber in circling condition and photodetector. Early experiment have been carried out loss optical fiber curvature of the correlation factor of a circle diameter of the displacement. Measurement results showed differences to laser intensity at the position of the optical fiber is straight and the position make to curve. Measurement made on the condition R1 = 18.7 mm as L1 = 0 mm until R2 = 15.6 mm as L2 = 9 mm. The working principles of equipment that is create when a laser through optical fiber missed in the curve and pull up to a certain frictions the loss geometry would be the bigger.

Abstract

The presence of local wisdom in Sicike-Cike Nature Park, North Sumatra, was studied. The result shows that local wisdom is important in forest conservation and tourism related purposes. The result also indicates that the conservation of The Nature Park and its water source is also supported by the existence of traditionalcustoms still largely followed and believe in nature as a sacred area.The preservation of forest management in The Nature Park through local wisdom is influenced by three group factors: basic factor, supporting, and motivating.Co-management that incorporates both local people and goverment is regarded as the best solution offered in the forest management of Sicike-Cike Nature Park.
