An Nisa is managed by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Bone. The publications through An Nisa include results of research or conceptual studies about gender, women, and child that have never been published elsewhere. The An Nisa is intended for experts, academics, practitioners, state administrators, and NGOs. The aim of this journal is to provide a venue for academicians, researchers and practitioners for publishing the original research articles or review articles. Abstract

This study analyzes the integral policy of legal protection for child victims of sexual violence within educational institutions. The research focuses on the forms of integral policies developed by local governments to protect child victims of sexual violence in schools, as well as the innovative measures and challenges faced by the government in providing such protection. The study employs an empirical legal research method with a case study approach. Both primary and secondary data were utilized and analyzed through a qualitative descriptive method in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the government holds responsibility for protecting child victims of sexual violence in schools through affirmative policies that ensure special protection, as mandated by the Child Protection Law, the Human Rights Law, and the Sexual Violence Crime Law (UU TPKS). In essence, children are entitled to special assistance in the form of psychosocial services involving professionals across various fields to restore their mental well-being, including counseling, trauma therapy, social rehabilitation, and child mentoring. However, the implementation of psychosocial services in schools has not been effective due to several factors: the scope of protection has been limited to juridical aspects without addressing non-juridical dimensions, shortages of professional human resources, underperformance of school committees, lack of an integrated database of child victims, social stigma, low public awareness, and weak inter-institutional coordination. Efforts to enhance legal protection for child victims of sexual violence in educational institutions should be carried out through innovations in integral policies across juridical and non-juridical dimensions. This includes strengthening legal substance by establishing regional regulations on child sexual violence, improving legal structures through the creation of child support institutions in schools and supervisory committees on sexual violence, and cultivating legal culture by fostering awareness among parents, teachers, and communities. Commitment to protecting children from sexual violence must be built through effective communication among the three centers of education (family, school, and community), thereby ensuring that educational institutions become safe and child-friendly environments.

Abstract

This study explores female students’ interpersonal communication experiences and their perceptions of lecturer credibility at an Islamic-based campus, Universitas Halim Sanusi, focusing on the communication studies program. The study aims to identify patterns of interpersonal communication between female students and lecturers at an Islamic-based campus, analyze students’ perceptions of lecturer credibility, explain the impact of lecturer credibility on students’ learning experiences and engagement, and examine the role of Islamic values in shaping academic interpersonal communication. A descriptive qualitative approach was used to investigate female students’ communication experiences and how they interpret lecturer credibility in academic interactions. The findings indicate that communication patterns between female students and lecturers at an Islamic-based campus balance interpersonal closeness and professional boundaries, with lecturer credibility encompassing competence, integrity, and care. Supportive and consistent interactions enhance students’ psychological safety, motivation, and active participation. Islamic norms and values frame communication behavior, reinforcing an ethical and conducive learning experience. Female students perceive lecturer credibility as an integrated experience formed by academic competence, integrity, consistency, interpersonal care, material relevance, contextual communication skills, and Islamic values. Lecturer credibility influences learning motivation, active participation, psychological security, academic aspirations, and the quality of classroom and mentoring interactions. Lecturer credibility plays a key role in shaping positive academic experiences for female students through several dimensions, including material consistency, communication openness, attention and care, and the ability to adjust interactions according to students’ characteristics. Islamic-based campus values and norms shape female students’ communication with lecturers to be polite, professional, and productive. Islamic principles, including adab (etiquette), amanah (trustworthiness), honesty, and patience, provide an ethical framework that governs language, interaction boundaries, and communication adjustments based on gender context.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of single mothers in childcare and the challenges they face in carrying out family functions independently. Single mothers bear dual responsibilities as primary caregivers and breadwinners, requiring strong adaptability, emotional resilience, and effective time management. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research explores the experiences of single mothers in providing attention, education, and emotional support to their children despite various limitations. The findings show that single mothers play a strategic role in shaping their children’s character, discipline, and independence. Although they often encounter economic pressures, psychological burdens, and limited social support, they continuously strive to create a stable and nurturing caregiving environment. Support from extended family, community, and social policies significantly strengthens their ability to fulfill these responsibilities. This study concludes that the role of single mothers is crucial to children’s development, and sustained social intervention is needed to help them carry out childcare more effectively.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the commodification of religion in digital media signifies a fundamental shift in the ways spiritual values are produced, represented, and consumed in contemporary society. Digital media no longer function merely as channels for religious communication, but also as arenas of symbolic economy governed by algorithmic logic and platform capitalism. In this context, religion tends to shift from a transcendental experience toward a visual performance measured by popularity, attention, and exchange value. This study aims to analyze the commodification of religion in digital media by emphasizing the perspectives of gender and children as socially vulnerable subjects. Employing a critical-interpretative qualitative approach, the research draws on literature review, qualitative observation of digital religious content, and thematic-critical analysis grounded in the philosophy of communication, critical theory, and ethical studies. The findings indicate that representations of women and children in digital religious content often function as visually effective symbols of piety, yet they are prone to symbolic reduction and objectification. Furthermore, the study reveals that algorithmic logic encourages the simplification of religious messages and reinforces religious performativity, thereby marginalizing the reflective and ethical dimensions of faith. Nevertheless, digital media also provide new opportunities for more inclusive religious participation and expression, provided that such practices are accompanied by critical awareness and moral responsibility. This study underscores the urgency of developing an ethical framework for digital religious communication that prioritizes human dignity, particularly that of women and children, amid the dynamics of digital capitalism.

Abstract

The low status of women in a patriarchal culture renders them vulnerable to discrimination and violence within both the social and domestic spheres. The Bugis community maintains a wide range of cultural traditions, including a deeply rooted patriarchal paradigm. This imbalance of power relations significantly increases the likelihood of women experiencing violence, particularly domestic violence (KDRT). This article aims to analyze the implications of patriarchal culture in cases of domestic violence within the Bugis community residing in Bone Regency. The research employs an empirical legal method, examining law as written norms while also analyzing legal behavior within society. The findings reveal that the patriarchal culture of the Bugis community in Bone Regency has direct implications for domestic violence. Unequal power relations, restrictions on women’s participation in the social sphere, and the persistence of the siri’ concept, alongside conservative religious interpretations, sustain patriarchal behavior within Bugis society.
