Abstract

Fuel is a primary component in the operational system of Steam Power Plants (PLTU) because it functions as the main source of thermal energy used to heat water in the boiler to produce high-pressure steam. The generated steam is then directed to the steam turbine to rotate the turbine blades, enabling the generator to operate and produce electrical energy. The performance and efficiency level of a power plant are highly influenced by the type of fuel used in the boiler combustion process. Therefore, selecting an appropriate fuel type becomes an important factor in improving the efficiency of power generation systems and optimizing energy utilization. This study aims to analyze the comparison of efficiency levels between the use of Solar Fuel Oil (SFO) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in the boiler system of a steam power plant. The method used in this research is a literature review by collecting and analyzing data from previous studies related to the use of oil-based and gas-based fuels in steam power plants. The collected data are then compared to identify differences in the energy performance produced by each type of fuel. The results of the study indicate that the use of Solar Fuel Oil (SFO) produces an efficiency value of approximately 36.45% with a power output of around 0.30175 MW. Meanwhile, the use of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) demonstrates better performance, with an efficiency value reaching 55% and a power output of approximately 200 MW. These differences indicate that gas-based fuel has a more optimal combustion capability and produces thermal energy more efficiently compared to oil-based fuel.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in transportation cycle time and operational costs between jumbo-bed dump trucks and standard-bed dump trucks in transporting fresh fruit bunches (FFB) of oil palm from the ramp to the processing plant in Parindu District, Sanggau Regency. The results show that standard-bed dump trucks have shorter transportation cycle times compared to jumbo-bed dump trucks. This is due to their smaller load capacity, which makes the loading, transportation, unloading, and return processes more efficient. In contrast, jumbo-bed dump trucks require longer cycle times because their larger load volumes demand longer working durations for each transportation cycle. In addition, the operational costs of jumbo-bed dump trucks are higher than those of standard-bed dump trucks due to greater fuel consumption, higher maintenance costs, and higher depreciation per transportation cycle. Cost analysis results indicate that the transportation cost per kilogram of FFB using standard-bed dump trucks is more economical, with a cost difference of IDR 44,000.00 per kilogram compared to jumbo-bed dump trucks. Therefore, the use of standard-bed dump trucks is considered more efficient in terms of both transportation time and cost for oil palm FFB.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the implementation of a fingerprint attendance system among back-office employees at Wyndham Opi Hotel Palembang and to examine its influence on work discipline. The findings indicate that the fingerprint-based system has been implemented effectively and is considered more efficient than the previous manual attendance method. The system records employee attendance automatically and objectively, ensuring greater orderliness while reducing recording errors and minimizing the risk of data manipulation. The adoption of fingerprint technology has contributed positively to employee discipline, particularly in fostering greater awareness of working hours and punctuality. Nevertheless, the improvement in discipline has not yet reached its full potential. This limitation is associated with employees’ adaptation to the new system, certain technical constraints under specific conditions, and the absence of integration between attendance data and performance appraisal mechanisms, including the rewards and sanctions applied within the organization. From the perspective of Expectancy Theory, the effectiveness of a fingerprint attendance system will be enhanced when employees clearly understand that punctual attendance is directly linked to performance evaluation, incentives, and disciplinary consequences. Therefore, the fingerprint system should not be viewed merely as an administrative instrument, but also as a strategic mechanism that supports the development of disciplined work behavior among employees.

Abstract

The effectiveness of academic supervision in middle schools is often hindered by delayed feedback loops due to inefficient conventional data management. This study aims to develop a mobile-based academic supervision and teacher performance evaluation digitalization system at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP, integrating three pillars of oversight: leadership supervision, teacher self-reflection, and authentic student evaluation. Using the Waterfall development method, this study involved the principal, vice-principal of curriculum, administrative staff, teachers, and student representatives as respondents. Functional validation was conducted using blackbox testing techniques to ensure all modules operate consistently according to requirements specifications. The results indicate that the integration of oversight modules into a Flutter and MySQL-based mobile platform significantly reduces data recapitulation time, from days to real-time data presentation. The substantial findings of this study emphasize that digitalization can strengthen transparency and accountability in teacher performance assessment objectively. The practical implication of this system is the creation of a data-driven educator professionalism culture, where feedback for improving teaching quality can be received instantaneously to continuously enhance the quality of learning.

Abstract

Transformers are essential equipment in electric power transmission systems that function to adjust voltage levels according to system requirements. Over the course of operation, transformer performance may degrade due to aging, loading conditions, and the frequency of disturbances, which can potentially reduce the reliability of power supply. This study examined 22 units of 150 kV GIS-type power transformers with a capacity of 60 MVA located across 8 GIS substations, using a Health Index–based analysis method. The application of the Health Index showed that 19 transformers (86.36%) were in the Good–Very Good category, while 3 units (13.64%) were in the Caution–Very Poor category. Validation was carried out on samples representing the Very Good, Poor, and Very Poor categories, and it demonstrated strong agreement between the Health Index values and the results of inside check, laboratory tests, as well as operational history and further in-depth testing. Correlation analysis indicated a strong negative relationship between the Health Index and transformer operating age (r = –0.821), suggesting that increasing operation age significantly contributes to a decrease in the Health Index value. Based on the analysis, three follow-up actions are recommended: normal operation, operation with intensive and periodic monitoring, and transformer replacement, representing the overall health levels of the transformers in the study sample.

Abstract

Abstract

Non-hemorrhagic stroke often leads to limitations in physical activity and psychological problems such as depression, which may affect the recovery process. Family support is known to play an important role in helping patients adapt to these conditions; however, evidence regarding the relationship between family support, physical activity, and depression in local healthcare settings remains limited, particularly at the Tidore Islands Regional Hospital. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between family support and both physical activity and depression levels in patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke. A quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted involving 70 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a family support questionnaire, the Barthel Index for physical activity, and the Geriatric Depression Scale for depression level, and were analyzed using Pearson correlation tests. The results showed a significant relationship between family support and physical activity (p < 0.05; r = …), as well as a significant relationship between family support and depression level (p < 0.05; r = …). The direction of the correlations indicates that higher family support is associated with better physical activity and lower levels of depression. These findings highlight the important role of family involvement in supporting both physical and psychological recovery among stroke patients. Therefore, healthcare providers, particularly nurses and physiotherapists, are encouraged to integrate family-based approaches into rehabilitation programs to improve patient independence and overall well-being.

Abstract

The increasing public awareness of maintaining body immunity after the COVID-19 pandemic has driven the growth of dietary supplement consumption as a preventive health measure. However, fluctuating supplement sales indicate the presence of factors influencing consumer behavior in purchasing decisions and customer loyalty. This study aims to analyze the effects of knowledge, attitude, and behavior on purchasing decisions and customer loyalty toward supplements. The research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, involving 150 respondents who had purchased supplements, using a questionnaire with a 1–5 interval scale. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS software. The results show that knowledge (0.411; 0.297), attitude (0.290; 0.220), and behavior (0.275; 0.233) have positive and significant effects on purchasing decisions and customer loyalty. Purchasing decisions also have a significant positive effect on customer loyalty with a path coefficient of 0.314. Additionally, knowledge (0.129), attitude (0.091), and behavior (0.087) indirectly influence customer loyalty through purchasing decisions. These findings indicate that better consumer understanding and positive attitudes contribute to repeat purchases and stronger customer loyalty. Therefore, improving product education, ensuring product availability, and enhancing service quality with a customer-oriented approach are essential strategies to strengthen customer loyalty.

Abstract

The Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) Long Endurance Low Altitude (LELA) division evaluates fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) not only based on endurance, but also on mission completion speed, where faster completion yields additional scoring points. This study aims to analyze and compare the performance characteristics of Lithium-Polymer (Li-Po) and Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries in fixed-wing UAV operations and to evaluate their suitability based on competition-oriented mission strategies. An experimental approach was employed by conducting flight tests under identical UAV configurations, autonomous waypoint trajectories, flight altitudes, and termination voltage limits to ensure consistency. The evaluated parameters include voltage behavior, average current consumption, flight duration, cruising speed, and distance traveled. The results indicate that the Li-Po battery achieved a longer flight duration of 51 minutes with a lower average current of 18.82 A and a cruising speed of 25 m/s, demonstrating stronger endurance capability. Conversely, the Li-ion battery exhibited a shorter flight duration of 39 minutes but operated at a higher cruising speed of 32.5 m/s with an average current of 30.77 A, enabling a longer travel distance of 68.4 km compared to 64.5 km for the Li-Po battery. These findings highlight a significant trade-off between endurance and mission completion speed. The study confirms that battery selection in fixed-wing UAV operations for KRTI LELA should be aligned with mission scoring priorities rather than focusing solely on endurance. Furthermore, this research contributes to UAV energy system optimization by experimentally demonstrating the interaction between battery characteristics and operational strategies in determining mission performance outcomes.

Abstract

Bananas are a highly nutritious tropical fruit widely consumed by the public. However, the manual process of determining ripeness levels often leads to inconsistencies. Pak Sanali’s Banana Plantation in Krembung Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, faces challenges in accurately determining fruit ripeness, which can potentially cause sorting errors that impact the quality and market value of the harvest. This study aims to design an image-based banana ripeness prediction system using a Deep Learning approach. The model used is a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with a MobileNetV2 architecture that employs transfer learning. The process begins with banana image inputs that undergo preprocessing stages of augmentation and normalization, followed by feature extraction through convolutional layers to capture visual characteristics such as the color and texture of the banana peel. These features are then processed in the classification head layer, consisting of Global Average Pooling and a fully connected layer, to generate predictions for four ripeness classes: unripe, ripe, overripe, and rotten. Test results show that the model using the Adam optimizer delivers the best performance, with an accuracy of 99.47% and a test loss of 0.39%. The model was developed using Python and TensorFlow on Google Colaboratory and implemented in a Kotlin-based application. Evaluation using a confusion matrix demonstrates excellent classification performance based on the metrics of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.
