Abstract

In general, the wall lamp has a function as lighting. Wall lamps consist of lamp shades, connectors and stands. This study aims to obtain calculation methods for designing more varied lamp shades, connectors and stands. This research method is divided into several stages. First, build some basic objects as components of wall lamps from cone deformation, ten-prism prisms, tubes and beams with Bezier curve. Second, it arranges several basic objects of wall lamp components on the modeling axis. Third, arrange a program. The results of this study obtained calculation methods for designing various forms of constituent components of wall lamps from conical base objects, triangular prisms, tubes and beams. Furthermore, assembling the components of wall light on modeling axis.

Abstract

Many classical data, for example, exchange rate, stock price, and consumer price index (CPI) data cannot be analyzed under independent observation assumption. In addition, some time series data cannot be modeled well into a fully linear model, for instance, CPI, price of raw materials for some certain industries and price of some industrial products data in which monetary crisis of Indonesia in 1998 has caused a dramatic effect on the time series of CPI, price of raw materials and industrial products. A semiparametric model is a mixture model between parametric and nonparametric models. If we apply it to time series data, we will obtain a semiparametric time series model known as partly linear autoregressive model: y1= β yt-1 + g ( yt-2 ,..., yt-p ) + εt for t > p + 1. Here β is an unknown parameter to be estimated, g(.) is an unknown function in Rp-1 , εt are i.i.d. random errors with E ( ε1 ) = 0 and E ( ε12 ) < ∞, and εt are independent of ys for all s = 1 , 2 ,..., p and t > p + 1 . Based on the model above, we investigate a model for general consumer price index (GCPI) of Jember data recorded monthly from January 1998 to December 2002 by Statistic Center Bureau of Jember.

Abstract

The wave equation is one of hyperbolic equation forms which its solution can be solved by various methods, such as Alembert and series approximation methods. Basically, the Alembert method is a coordinate transfer technique and the series approximation method is the classical separation of variable. Performance of the wave equation can be known by both of the methods with the variation of boundary conditions. The results show that both of the methods gave some equalities or differences of the profile. The different values of the velocity c ’s will have the same performance of the wave equation in the case of Dirichlet and Von Neumann boundary conditions. Calculating the profiles with a discrete version of the solution and showing some profiles at various times have been done resulting oscillation wave and moving wave.

Abstract

The cup is given to someone as a sign of apreciation and a gift of achievement. In general, the cup consists of the top, the middle, and the base. This research aims to obtain various forms of the design of cup that varied by merging the deformation results of solid geometry objects. This research method is divided into several stages. First, construct some basic objects as constituent components of cup from deformation of prism hexagon, tube, and cone. Second, set some basic objects of the component of cup on three types of modeling axis. Third, arrange program using software Maple 18. The results of this research obtained the procedure for designing various forms of constituent components of cup from the basic object of a prism hexagon, tube, and cone. Furthermore, the procedure for assembling the components of cup from the first procedure results on three types of modeling axis.

Abstract

Portfolio is amount of investment. It determines proportion of fund that should be allocated in each investment in order to increase a certain profit with a certain risk. This research has aim to achieve an optimal result of portfolio case. Examaning this case is use quadratic programming, and then finishing with Wolfe method.

Abstract

An even function is a function with a graph that is symmetric with respect to the y-axis or the line x = 0. In this paper, we will introduce a more general function of the even function, we call it as symmetry function with respect to the line x = a, which is a function whose graph is symmetric with respect to the line x = a. This paper discusses the properties of the symmetry function with respect to the line x = a, which is derived from the pre-existing properties of the even function. Some of the results obtained above, the linear combination of the symmetry functions with respect to the line x = a is a symmetry function with respect to the line x = a and the composition of any function with a symmety function with respect to the line x = a is a symmetry function with respect to the line x = a. Keywords: Even function, a symmetry function with respect to the line x=a, symmetric graph

Abstract

Geometric programming is an optimization technique developed for solving a class of non-linear programming problems. It is used to minimize function which are in the form of posynomial subject to constraints of the same type. To find the solution, this technique consider dual problem that related to primal problem. In this paper, we discuss about minimize solution with constrained of geometric programming problems on the basis of Lagrangian function and Kuhn-Tucker Conditions.

Abstract

The development of sending messages that are increasingly easy and sophisticated makes it easier for third parties to access or sabotage the contents of the message, so we need a science called cryptography to secure the message. This research is to secure the message on image encoding using Playfair Cipher and 3D Playfair Cipher. The process of encryption and decryption on Playfair Cipher uses two-letter pairs (bigram), while in 3D Playfair Cipher uses three-letter pairs (trigrams). The encryption process uses Playfair Cipher and 3D Playfair Cipher to produce a different image cipher with plain image visually. In the decryption process, the cipher image returns into the plain image using Playfair Cipher and 3D Playfair Cipher. Histogram analysis, NPCR, and UACI are used to see the difference between ordinary images and password images using Playfair Cipher and 3D Playfair Cipher. The average results of histogram analysis that shows safe based on research data are 14061,483 using 3D Playfair Cipher, the average NPCR results that show safe based on research data are 99.2% using Playfair Cipher, and the average UACI results showing safe based on research data is 29.1% using 3D Playfair Cipher. The results of the study indicate that the proposed method can be used to secure the message.

Abstract

Fractals have two types, namely fractals sets (artificial fractals) and natural fractals. Each type of fractal has a variety of fractal objects. One of the fractal objects is the Dragon Curve. Fractal objects can be generated through two methods, namely the Lindenmayer System (L-System) and the Iterated Function System (IFS). In previous studies, the Dragon curve can be generated through the L-System approach. The method is to start from determining the rotation angle, then determining the initial string, and the last one, which is determining the production rules. In this study, the Dragon curve is generated using IFS with Affine Transformation. The Affine transformation used in this study is dilation and rotation. Some variation is given on the scale of dilation and rotation angle. The variation is using a fixed angle with a variety of scale and using a fixed scale with a variation of angle. Each variation gives a different effect. This influence results in a varied visualization of the Naga curve. If the scale and angle that is varied approach a scale of one and an angle of 90° then the fractal formed approaches the Dragon curve of a scale of one with an angle of 90°. Conversely, if the scale and angle are varied away from one scale and angle of 90°, the fractal formed away from the Dragon curve of scale one with an angle of 90°. Keywords: Affine transformation, dragon curve, IFS method.
