Abstract

The imbalance between the number of vehicles parking and parking off-street parking generation resulted automatically take advantage of the road for parking. From the analysis of the capacity of roads in Mega Town Square on segment Jl. Yos Sudarso, it is known that the level of service is still in accordance with Decree No. KM 14 of 2006, AASHTO, 1973 and Morlok, 1990. On Saturday morning the street value of the service is stable at current low traffic density with a rather high speed but can be controlled by the driver based on the speed limit maximum/minimum and the physical condition of the road. On Saturday afternoon, the traffic density was at a pace that can be controlled by the driver with the value of the service road approaching unstable flow speed of 25 Km/hour. On Saturday night, the traffic density is high enough to speed decreases, and can not be controlled by the driver currents sehinnga restrained. Total vehicle parking per hour is 60 veh/hour. This value is adjusted to supply vehicles going out into the market as much as 100 veh/h. So that parking availability is still sufficient to accommodate the vehicles in the Mega Town Square.

Abstract

Peat swamp forests serve as an abundant water catchment area in rainy season and then releases it gradually in dry season. The main function of peat swamp forests are as the hydrology regulator in an ecosystem, and the function will be disrupted when the peat swamp forests have excessive drainage condition. Recently, the peat swamp forests of Central Kalimantan are badly damaged by prolonged exploration without any responsibility to preserve it. One of the damage causes of the peat swamp forests in Central Kalimantan are many canals made when illegal loggers get their harvested wood out to the estuary of nearest watershed. Therefore, it forms canals that drain water with no control. The effect is peat swamp forests will be very dry and trigger devastating fire that cannot be extinguished in a short time. One of the efforts to deal with the problem is by recovering the hydrology condition of peat swamp forests ecosystem through duct insulation using simple dam locally called “tabat”. The making of tabat is easily designed in order that the implementation is not very hard, and the material selection such as forest wood dominate the construction because the wood will be cracked gradually without disturbing the ecosystem process and restoration principle in peat swamp forests. The modeling result by a computer software of hydraulics shows the increase of water level in canals at 15 to 30 cm and the width of inundation in tabat when the designed flood of two-year return period was modeled to 280.67 km2 and for the period of five years was 306.04 km2 from the target of hydrology restoration of 250 km2.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the requirement of flexural reinforcement area between square beams and T beams. This study is using a space frame as a model with geometric shapes and symmetric loading. The requirement of flexural reinforcement needs is reviewed on the selfweight of structures, live loads and combined loads with the variations of steel yield strenght (fy) of 300 MPa, 350 MPa and 400 MPa. The result of this study indicate that the calculation of the requirement of the flexural reinforcement area which only takes into account the selfweight of the structure or live load gives the same result for square beams and T beams. However it gives different results for the combination load. The requirement of the flexural reinforcement area for T beam is 4% less than square beam. The analysis result is showing that the higher quality of steel used the needs of the area of reinforcement will reduce. The reduction that occurs for each variation of steel yield strength both on square beams and T beams is about 16.67%.

Abstract

Manganese clay had been synthesized as a water filter in order to find out how the quality of water by using parameters such as pH, concentration of iron (Fe), TSS (Total Suspended Solid) and turbidity in the water of Kahayan River before and after filtering it. The first step of Synthesizing the manganese clay was done bycalcining the natural clayat700 ° C for 3 hours, then it was soaked by applying MnCl2 solution of 5 g / L at 60 ° C for 12 hour; the second phase that itwas washed in order to remove its chloride ions, after that, it was dried at 80 ° C for 3 hours, then it was soaked by applying KMnO4 solution with concentration of 5 g / L at 60 ° C for 24 hours, then the clay was washed. Other supporting filters which were also used in the filtration processes, namely sand and gravel. Based on the result findings, before filtering the water, its quality was pH 5.5;Fe concentration of 2.16 mg / L, TSS of 258 mg / L;and turbidity of 140 NTU. After filtering the water by using manganese clay, the quality of Kahayan water is qualified to the requirements of clean water as inPermenkes No. 907/Menkes/VII/2002, thatthe parameters pH is 6.5; Fe concentration of 2.16 mg / L TSS 108 mg / L;and turbidity of 11.97 NTU. It is suggested that manganese clay can be used as a water filter Kahayan river for the alternative water suppy in Kalimantan Tengah.
