Abstract

Indonesia issued a regulation on carbon tax through article 13 of Law No. 7 on the Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP) in 2021 following the number of countries that have implemented carbon pricing mechanisms in facing the challenge of climate change. In addition to the policy formulation process full of pros and cons, the policy was actually postponed until 2015. Learning from the experience of other countries, the implementation of carbon taxes does not always succeed in reducing emissions or household budgets. The facts show that economic development and environmental control often do not occur at the same time. Additional rules, government commitment and cooperation from every relevant stakeholder are needed as well as supervision from the community in the implementation of article 13 of the HPP Law.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze civil-military relations during the USDP and NLD governments, as well as analyze the democratic transition in Myanmar that led to the division of power during the civilian rule. This research was conducted using qualitative research methods. That is, a method that is used by providing an overview of the problem being discussed by arranging the facts in such a way that it forms a configuration of the problem that can be understood clearly. This approach has an assumption by seeing social reality as an ever-changing condition and is the result of social construction between actors and social institutions. As a result, under the 2008 Constitution, the military in Myanmar remains dominant in security and defense with 25% of legislative seats reserved for the Tatmadaw. This division of power is unequal, resulting in military dominance, as the democratic transition is controlled by the military through a "seven-step roadmap to democracy," without the significant role of the NLD. Civilian control over the military during the 2011-2021 civilian rule was not achieved, with the military having sovereign authority in top-down policies and weak political representation.

Abstract

In today's competitive business era, entrepreneurs are faced with the challenge of growing their businesses in an increasingly competitive environment. One of the main strategies for growth is business expansion, which often requires additional funding. Internal funding is often insufficient, so many companies turn to external sources of funds, such as through an Initial Public Offering (IPO). IPOs are defined in Law No. 8/1995 on Capital Markets and offer various benefits, including increased share ownership by individual investors, expansion of product distribution, and long-term investor support. However, some listed companies choose not to list their shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, a decision that complies with the Capital Market Law. A company can be classified as a public company if it meets certain criteria, including the number of shareholders and minimum paid-up capital. While not listing on the stock exchange may have its own benefits and drawbacks, this decision has significant implications for the company's operations. This study explains the dynamics and implications of various funding strategies in the current business context, providing insights into the IPO decision and the choice not to list on the stock exchange.

Additionally, the review examines the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning in personalizing music education, providing adaptive feedback, and fostering student engagement. The pedagogical implications of these technologies are considered, emphasizing their role in supporting differentiated instruction and accommodating diverse learning styles. Furthermore, the review addresses the challenges and limitations associated with implementing MTMS, including issues of accessibility, teacher training, and the digital divide. The findings suggest that while MTMS offer significant potential for enriching music education, successful implementation requires a holistic approach that includes adequate infrastructure, professional development, and continuous evaluation. This review contributes to the field by providing a comprehensive overview of current MTMS innovations and their impact on music education, offering insights for educators, researchers, and policymakers aiming to enhance the quality and accessibility of music instruction through technology.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to propose a relation between filial piety towards parents and a child's career success. The research methodology employed is contextual thematic analysis, focusing on verses of filial piety (Birrul Walidain) found in al-Isra’:23-24, Luqman:14, and al-Ahqaf:15. Interpretations used for dissecting these verses include the social-adab style commentaries by renowned scholars such as HAMKA's Al-Azhar, Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy's An-Nur, and Ahmad Musthafa Al-Maraghi's Al-Maraghi. HAMKA's interpretation states that, regardless of one's job position, be it an official/police officer/doctor/successful entrepreneur, one must not forget their parents and continually show filial piety towards them. Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy emphasizes that being a filial child entails not only being dutiful while parents are alive but also continuing to fulfill filial duties even after their passing, ensuring the child's obedience to Allah for the well-being of their parents. Al-Maraghi, through his commentary on the filial piety verses, relates the command to express gratitude by being dutiful to parents to the success and progress of the child, indicating the positive influence of the parents. This serves as evidence of the virtue of a filial child, impacting not only their spiritual relationship with Allah but also providing tangible benefits in worldly life which is the child's career success.
