Abstract

This research is entitled Audrey Anxiety Disorder in Lang Leav Sad Girls, discussing the main character, Audrey who suffers from anxiety. The aims of the research is to what Audrey experiences anxiety and the consequences of Audrey's anxiety. The method used is the descriptive qualitative method. In this study, the researcher uses a psychological approach to analyze based on Sigmund Freud's theory. Disruption can be experienced by psychological factors, such as lying about something very important. Anxiety disorder episodes of causes, symptoms of anxiety disorders, and effects. After analyzing the Sad Girls novel, one of the factors for Audrey's anxiety disorder is that Audrey's emotions are depression, has descendant of lie, Audrey lying to her two best friends about the cause of lie, lying to her boyfriend, and therefore Audrey continues to live in feelings and emotions. anxiety affecting her. Audrey has physical symptoms caused by her lies, including: panic attacks, heart palpitations, stomach twisting, shortness of breath, fear, chest pain, and fainting. the cause of Audrey's anxiety was that she was lying. The result of Audrey's anxiety is meet a psychiatrist, wearing a rubber band, and moving abroad.

Abstract

This study discusses the meaning of life, travel and advocacy about the main character. The researcher was interested in analyzing the ambition of main character in the novel Robinson Crusoe from Daniel Defoe because the main character in the novel Robinson Crusoe interpreted a man in real life. Researchers who have succeeded in finding meaning behind characters are always a mystery. A person's ambition can be influenced by several factors. To know ambition, humans are required to know themselves. Many writers try to express their ideas about life, one of which is Daniel Defoe in his novel titled Robinson Crusoe. He described the discovery of the meaning of one's life through the journey of the main character named Crusoe from one island to another. This thesis focuses on the ambitions of Robinson Crusoe in traveling, Crusoe who guides himself to find the meaning of his life. Crusoe really wants to sail with the purpose of his life can change but Crusoe does not know what happened on the trip, the purpose of this thesis is to describe the character of Crusoe and the background that caused him to travel and describe the experiences experienced by Crusoe in his journey so he managed to formulate the value of life that led him to find his identity and meaning in life as a human being.

Abstract

Hankang the vegetarian novel tells the woman named Yeong-hye who decided to be vegetarian after having nightmare, being vegetarian Yeong-hye got negative reaction(stigma) from her family and society. This study was descriptive qualitative in nature which used the data from whole novel of the vegetarian and to support the study, the researcher used theory of vegetarian in social cultural context and theory of vegetarian effect in society. The result of this study, the researcher finds that to be vegetarian cannot accept in Korean society because of collectivism influence, which collectivism hold the value of interdependence that prioritize the goal of group so that vegetarian was consider as a deviant behaviour that can disturb harmony in group and discordance with non vegetarian.

Abstract

This study discusses Kazuo Ishiguro's novel never let me go. This study tells the story of Kathy, a nurse who repeats her childhood story during her time at Haislam, making friends with Ruth and Tommy. The research will focus on Kathy as the main role in the novel. Kathy's egoism character in this novel greatly influences the storyline, Haislam and Kathy make the story at the height of the conflict and many things happen in the novel that are closely related to both of them, especially Kathy's egoism character. Therefore, this research will focus on selfishness Kathy. The purpose of this study is to discuss the character of Kathy based on observations on novel stories, in order to obtain accurate and more complete data. This research will also be supported by several theories from experts so that the data obtained becomes more focused and the researcher also reads more than once so that all the data obtained becomes more complete. The results of this research show that the factors that cause break or conflict in friendships are Kathy's egoism. This research can conclude that Kathy's character has a big influence in the storyline. One's egoism can affect friendship. Someone who has a egoism prioritize their own opinions which can lead to conflicts that damage friendships.

Abstract

The part of pragmatics that is learned by the students is speech act. Speechact is using utterances to perform some actions, in any occasions speech actemerges in uttterances like in the movie, talk show, novel and many others. Thisstudy intend to analyze speech act used by one of the main characters in “Call me by Your Name Movie movie” movie script. In the analysis is to investigate what acts emerge behind the utterances and the impacts for the hearer after the utterances is stated. The statements of research problem are: 1) what are the illocutionary actsused by Elio and oliver as one of the main characters in Frozen movie script? The Elio and Oliver as one of the main characters in “Call me by Your Name Movie movie” script, and the next purpose is to describe illocutionary act used by Elio and Oliver as one of the main characters in “Call me by Your Name Movie movie” movie script. Research method of this research: the research design of this research is library research with qualitative approach, the data of this research is the utterances of Elio and Oliver as one of the main characters in “Call me by Your Name Movie movie” movie script and the data sourceis “Call me by Your Name Movie movie” movie script. To analyse the data the researcher did some steps:Watching the “Call me by Your Name Movie movie” movie story well,Read the movie script classified the data into the types of illocutionary act of Searle' classification used by Elio and Oliver as one of the main characters in the “Call me by Your Name”. The result of the data analysis showed that there were five types ofillocutionary act base on searle’s classifications, they were: 1) 18 utterances ofrepresentative were like Well, he was sprightly, 2) 12 utterances of directives werelike Elio, go back to sleep, 3) 5 utterances of commisives were like We arenever closing them again, 4) 16 utterances of expressive were like It was anaccident. I’m sorry, Oliver and 5) 4 utterances of declaratives were like Hi, I’mElio and I like warm hugs. Futhermore, the next result were perlocutionary act ofthe data had been classified into illocutionary acts base on searle’e classificationfound 43 effects were like May I talk to you, please. Alone.
