Abstract

It is anticipated that this study will help businesses during the pandemic by offering guidance on tactics that will facilitate access to funding and resources for research and development. The degree of success can rise to the advantage of staff members and business owners if managers of companies can more accurately identify plans in the areas of financial resources and research and development. The three variables in this study are cash holdings, This is the dependent variable, profits per share (EPS), the mediating variable, and the independent variable is research and development. The research sample consists of businesses that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and are involved in R&D between 2020 and 2022. The data analysis procedure employed Stata software to ascertain the role that R&D activities had as a mediating variable in the relationship between cash holdings and EPS. The results of the study show that cash holdings significantly affect R&D activity but have no discernible effect on EPS. Research and development endeavors have proven to have a significant mediating effect, with a probability of less than 0.05. Consequently, during the Covid pandemic, R&D efforts in businesses contributed to better cash holding performance on EPS.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the phenomenon of escapism at Bira Beach, South Sulawesi, with the aim of understanding the complex interactions between night entertainment workers, tourists and local communities in a tourism context. By adopting a constructivist and interpretative paradigm, this study uses qualitative methods including direct observation and in-depth interviews to collect data. This approach allows research to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the social and cultural reality at Bira Beach is constructed and handled through the practice of escapism. The research results show that escapism at Bira Beach acts as a mechanism of adaptation and resistance to social norms and economic pressures, while influencing social structure and local identity. This phenomenon is analyzed through the lens of relevant sociological theories: Pierre Bourdieu with the concept of "habitus" which explains how social structures and external conditions shape individual perceptions and actions; Erving Goffman with his dramaturgical theory which allows an understanding of how individuals play various social roles as a form of escapism; and Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann whose social construction theory helps describe how social and cultural realities are created through continuous interactions between individuals. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that escapism at Bira Beach not only impacts individual experiences, but also has broad implications for social and cultural structures. Tourism and escapism, as social and economic phenomena, play a critical role in shaping and changing the dynamics of local communities, creating challenges and opportunities that must be managed with an approach that is inclusive and sensitive to social and cultural aspects. This research reveals that a deep understanding of the interactions between structure and agency is critical to facilitating harmonious sustainable development between visitors and local communities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain and evaluate the impact that pricing perception, electronic word-of-mouth, and brand image have on the inclination to buy on the Tokopedia e-commerce platform (study of students in Semarang City). Students in Semarang were the population under study in this study. Students from different Semarang-based institutions and universities make up this demographic. Since the dependent variable in this study is purchasing interest, the population that will be examined in this research consists of Semarang students who have made purchases online from August to September of 2023 using the e-commerce platform Tokopedia. Anyone who occurs to use the Tokopedia application for transactions involving purchases and sales is included in the sample from this population. The findings of this study indicate that interest in making purchases on the Tokopedia e-commerce platform is significantly, favorably, and strongly influenced by the brand image variable (X1). The brand image that was acquired from Tokopedia is fairly positive, but there are a few indicators that should be taken into account. These include the benefits (benefits) associated with the usefulness of the product and the brand attitude (brand attitude), which is the consumer's attitude regarding their overall assessment of the brand. When taken as a whole, brand image can persuade customers—in this example, Semarang City students—to make purchases. The findings of the research indicate that purchasing choice variables are significantly, strongly, and favorably influenced by the electronic word-of-mouth variable (X2). Electronic word-of-mouth about interest in purchases is fairly strong; nevertheless, there are a few areas that need to be addressed going forward, including the frequency of both positive and negative evaluations, as well as the accuracy and completeness of the information. In general, electronic word of mouth can stimulate buyers—in this example, Semarang City students—to make purchases. The same is true of how people perceive prices.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine and analyze the form of transcription of Arabic phenotes, description and naming of Arabic language segments, description of Arabic language segments according to different characteristics and Arabic phonological processes. Data was taken using Arabic phonology with a review of generative analysis as a theoretical framework. Generative analysis is used to process the birth structure which can produce phonetic images. From the analysis results obtained it is concluded that 1) if the smoothed and loudened sounds meet then one of them is reversed. Example (if al) of the word (fa'ala). Apart from that, the sound of the letter j (waw) is sharpened, while the letter (ta') is softened j, 2) the transfer of air flow from the mouth to the nose or vice versa. The nature of sound is divided into two, namely the first exhalation of air through the mouth when speaking and is generally found in Arabic such as dal and la'. Both of them come out through the nose like the letters ? min and nun. The letters m ba turn into ? (mim) or the sound that passes from the mouth (ba') changes to the nasal sound (miim) as the combination of nin and lam in the example, 3) Shifting sound makhraj. There are various forms of assimilation from the original makhraj to other makhraj, many of which are found replacing the letter ^ with characteristics typical of modern Arabic dialects, such as when Egyptians pronounce (4->j±kU ) changed to (4j). and 4) Change in the nature of the sound from loud to soft. This assimilation is often found in idgham which consists of idgham mutamasilain, Idgham mutajanisasin, and Tdgham mutaqaribain

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the speech acts of preaching in the film "Muhammad Al-Fatih" using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through observation of dialogues in the film, employing the simak method with basic techniques of eavesdropping and advanced techniques of SBLC and note-taking. The analysis focuses on identifying the forms and functions of preaching speech acts in the film. Results revealed three types of communication: top-down communication, bottom-up communication, and horizontal communication. Top-down communication occurs between leaders and subordinates, such as Sultan-Praetorian, Sultan-Prime Minister, Husband-Wife, Mother-Child, Duke Notaras, and Lord Urban. Bottom-up communication involves interactions from subordinates to leaders, such as Prime Minister-Sultan, Praetorian-Sultan, Wife-Husband, Child-Mother, and Father. Horizontal communication occurs among individuals of the same status or level, such as Sultan-Sultan, Friend-Friend, and between a merchant and Hasan. The preaching speech acts were predominantly manifested in Sultan Mehmed's proclamation of the conquest of Constantinople, with 21 locutionary acts, 8 illocutionary acts, and 21 perlocutionary identified acts. This research provides insights into the forms and functions of preaching speech acts in the context of the film "Muhammad Al-Fatih."
