Abstract

The need for food and the need for community empowerment, the fulfillment of new and renewable energy and productive economic activity continue to increase in line with the explosive rate of population growth, this is also what underlies the joint targets of the SDGs in points 2, 5, 7 and 8. The Cemara Hijau Farm (KWT CHF) Farmer Women's Group located in the urban area of Malang city needs solving problems in the form of land expansion, access to sustainable irrigation, and optimum irradiation of crops. In this technology implementation activity, it is carried out to increase the active role of women and increase the agricultural productivity of KWT CHF with various limitations owned. Urban Farming with the vertical concept of agrivoltaic hydroponics can maximize land use in urban areas and photovoltaic-powered LED growlight irradiation can maximize energy and reduce operational costs. Implementation is carried out with the stages of Socialization, Installation, Collaboration, Training, Monitoring and Evaluation. The results of this activity are (1) agrivoltaic technology with a capacity of 1.35 kWh, (2) planting point capacity that can be created 476 points on an area of 8 m2, (3) utilization of circulation tubs as fish farming ponds covering an area of 6 m2 with a capacity of 60 fish, and (4) a 24-hour irradiation system with LED growlight. This community service program can increase the agricultural productivity of KWT CHF, provide added value activities, and reduce agricultural operational costs so that it has a positive impact on sustainable economic value for KWT CHF. For further development, a broader follow-up implementation is needed by involving many regional points by making pilot projects at KWT CHF as pilots for other regions.

One of the obstacles faced by various schools in Indonesia in implementing STEM is the lack of understanding and experience of teachers about STEM-based learning. The purpose of this service program was to assist SD Muhammadiyah 1 Paiton Probolinggo in preparing and implementing STEM learning. The solution to the problems offered is socialization and assistance in designing STEM learning. The order of these community service activities was: 1) Matching Perceptions between the Community Service Team and Partner Schools; 2) Presentation of Series 1 Material: Innovative and STEM Learning Models; 3) Presentation of Series 2 Material: Lesson Study and Learning Community; and 4) STEM learning workshops. After carrying out community service activities at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Paiton, there has been a significant and large increase in teacher knowledge regarding STEM learning from before (M = 63.3, SD = 14.9) to after the service program (M = 95.6, SD = 6), t(11) = 6.6, p < .001, d = 1.91. Even though this service program has shown satisfactory results, this program needs to continue so that the learning community of teachers who able to optimize the design so that the implementation of STEM learning can be realized optimally.

The observation step resulted some recommendation on the development of Kedung Gajah. Furthermore, in the period of preparation, at least five meetings were conducted to exchange and share information. Finally, the robot demonstration could attract more than 500 people visited the object and these visitors gave benefit to the turnover more than five million rupiah from culinary in estimation.

The data were used descriptive analysis. The results show that the mentoring participants gave a positive response to these activities, and MSEs received assistance in the practice of submitting halal products to the SIHALAL application. Some MSEs actors were able to apply for halal certification with the verification application status completed by National Fatwa Committee, LP3H, some were still in the draft submission and some had not yet submitted because business actors were more focused on product sales, so the time to complete the submission documents was limited. Furthermore, the community service team evaluates activities and monitors tracking periodically after submitting halal certification until release certificate halal product.

Abstract

Community service is a process of self-empowerment for the benefit of society. The community empowerment movement, whatever its form, is part of community service. The problem regarding the large amount of vegetable oil waste for MSME actors both in Indonesia, especially in big cities is getting more complicated. The increasing amount requires immediate handling because it can damage the environment when disposed of carelessly. In this community service activity, the service team involved Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Bandar Lampung. In addition, this dedication also involves foreign university partners, namely the MARA University of Technology (UiTM) in its implementation. This service focuses on the utilization of vegetable oil waste that has been used and then used to produce value-added products such as biodiesel. This award will be held from 8 to 14 October 2022. The purpose of holding this service is how to manage used oil waste resulting from the MSME production process. This is because the waste oil produced is often just carelessly disposed of into the surrounding environment which will certainly have a negative impact on environmental sustainability. Later, when it becomes biodiesel, besides being an added economic value, it will also support environmental sustainability by creating an alternative source of renewable energy. The conclusion from this service is that the participants have the knowledge and ability to process waste vegetable oil into biodiesel.
