Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of training quality and self-efficacy on employee performance in a five-star hotel in East Surabaya. A quantitative research design was employed using a saturated sampling technique involving 77 employees. Data were collected through a multi-source approach, with training quality and self-efficacy assessed by employees, while employee performance was evaluated by supervisors to reduce common method bias. The proposed relationships were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that both training quality and self-efficacy have positive and significant effects on employee performance. These results suggest that investments in high-quality training programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening employees' self-efficacy can effectively enhance workforce performance in the hospitality industry. This study contributes to the human resource management literature by providing empirical evidence on the complementary roles of training quality and psychological capability in improving employee performance. The findings also offer practical implications for hotel managers in designing integrated training and employee development programs to strengthen organizational performance. Abstract

Sustaining employee performance has become a strategic priority for organizations operating in highly demanding and competitive environments. Over the past three years, a state-owned logistics organization in Surabaya has experienced a consistent decline in employee productivity, underscoring the need to identify key behavioral and organizational factors influencing performance outcomes. This study examines the effects of work procrastination and work–life balance on employee performance within the organization. Adopting a quantitative research design and a census sampling approach, the study involved all 112 employees as respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires employing a five-point Likert scale and supported by semi-structured interviews and direct field observations. The proposed relationships were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that work procrastination has a significant negative effect on employee performance, indicating that delays in task completion adversely affect productivity and work outcomes. Conversely, work–life balance positively and significantly influences employee performance, suggesting that employees who achieve a better balance between professional and personal responsibilities are more likely to perform effectively. Collectively, both variables explain 65.4% of the variance in employee performance, demonstrating substantial predictive power. The study contributes to the organizational behavior and human resource management literature by highlighting the dual importance of minimizing counterproductive work behaviors and fostering employee well-being to enhance performance. These findings offer practical implications for managers in state-owned enterprises seeking to improve organizational effectiveness through targeted interventions that reduce workplace procrastination and promote work–life balance initiatives. Abstract

There is a growing need to comprehend what influences consumers' confidence in online banking and other digital financial services due to the exponential growth of financial technology (FinTech). This research delves into the ways in which digital financial literacy, technology literacy, perceived risk, trust in artificial intelligence, and financial literacy impact the confidence that people in Indonesia have in FinTech. To provide a more thorough explanation of trust creation, perceived risk was included in the study model. The data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS. A total of 236 employed postgraduate students from the Greater Jakarta region were surveyed using purposive sampling. Digital financial literacy does not substantially impact users' trust, but financial literacy has a substantial negative impact on FinTech trust, according to the empirical results. confidence in FinTech is favorably impacted by technical literacy and confidence in AI, but it is significantly negatively impacted by perceived risk. Among the factors that were taken into consideration, people' faith in FinTech is most strongly explained by their confidence in artificial intelligence. The results of this study add to our knowledge of how people trust digital financial services by demonstrating the importance of users' perceptions of AI-related trust and risk, and by indicating that, in the FinTech context of Indonesia, factors related to technology have a greater impact on users' trust than factors related to literacy. Abstract

Employee performance is a critical determinant of organizational effectiveness, particularly in the banking sector, where human capital plays a central role in achieving strategic objectives. Incentive systems are widely recognized as an important mechanism for motivating employees and enhancing workplace productivity. This study examines the effect of incentives on employee performance at Bank NTT Head Office in Kupang, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design, the study involved a population of 332 employees, from which 77 respondents were selected as the research sample. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and simple linear regression analysis to evaluate the relationship between incentives and employee performance. The descriptive findings indicate that both the incentive system and employee performance are perceived to be at very good levels within the organization. The inferential analysis demonstrates that incentives have a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance, as evidenced by the t-test results. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination indicates that incentives make a substantial contribution to explaining variations in employee performance. These findings suggest that well-designed incentive programs can serve as an effective human resource management strategy for improving employee productivity and organizational outcomes. The study contributes to the literature on employee motivation and performance by providing empirical evidence from the Indonesian banking industry and offers practical implications for organizations seeking to enhance workforce performance through performance-based reward systems. Abstract

The widespread adoption of digital payment systems has accelerated financial inclusion in Indonesia, with the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) emerging as a key innovation in cashless transactions. However, understanding the factors that influence users’ intention to adopt QRIS remains essential, particularly within Islamic educational institutions. This study examines the effects of convenience, perceived usefulness, security, and trust on students’ intention to use QRIS at the Kotagede Hidayatul Mubtadi'ien Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. A quantitative research design was employed using purposive sampling to collect data from 74 respondents. The proposed relationships were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3. The findings reveal that convenience and perceived usefulness have positive but statistically insignificant effects on students’ intention to use QRIS. In contrast, security and trust significantly and positively influence adoption intentions, highlighting the importance of users’ confidence in the reliability and safety of digital payment systems. The model explains 87.9% of the variance in QRIS usage intention, indicating substantial explanatory power. These results suggest that security and trust are the primary determinants of QRIS adoption among students in Islamic boarding school environments. The study contributes to the digital payment and financial technology literature by demonstrating that psychological and security-related considerations may outweigh functional benefits in shaping adoption intentions within specific cultural and institutional contexts. The findings provide practical implications for policymakers and payment service providers seeking to increase QRIS adoption through strategies that enhance system security, build user trust, and promote digital financial literacy among young consumers. Abstract

In an increasingly competitive Islamic banking industry, customer loyalty has become a critical determinant of sustainable organizational performance. Understanding the factors that drive customer loyalty is therefore essential for Islamic financial institutions seeking to strengthen their market position. This study examines the influence of Islamic financial literacy, digital marketing, and brand image on customer loyalty among customers of Bank Syariah Indonesia in Garut Regency, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design with an associative approach, the study utilizes Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the relationships among the proposed constructs. The findings reveal that Islamic financial literacy, digital marketing, and brand image each exert a positive and significant influence on customer loyalty. Customers with a stronger understanding of Islamic financial principles are more likely to demonstrate loyalty toward Islamic banking services. Furthermore, effective digital marketing strategies enhance customer engagement and strengthen long-term relationships, while brand image emerges as the most influential determinant of customer loyalty. These results highlight the importance of integrating educational, technological, and branding strategies to foster customer retention in the Islamic banking sector. The study contributes to the growing literature on Islamic banking by providing empirical evidence that customer loyalty is shaped by both cognitive and experiential factors in the digital era. The findings offer practical implications for Bank Syariah Indonesia and other Islamic financial institutions in designing customer-centric strategies aimed at enhancing loyalty and sustaining competitive advantage. Abstract

This study examines the effects of transformational leadership on affective organizational commitment and job performance, while investigating the parallel mediating roles of employee engagement and trust in leadership among academic and administrative staff at the University of The Gambia. Using survey data from 201 respondents and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis, the findings reveal that transformational leadership positively and significantly influences employee engagement, trust in leadership, and affective organizational commitment. However, no direct effect on job performance was observed. The results further demonstrate that employee engagement and trust in leadership significantly mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and job performance, while partially mediating the relationship with affective organizational commitment. These findings suggest that transformational leaders enhance employee outcomes indirectly by cultivating trust and fostering engagement. This study contributes empirical evidence from a West African higher education context, offering practical implications for university administrators seeking to strengthen staff retention and institutional effectiveness through leadership development initiatives. Abstract

Digital transformation has become a strategic imperative for manufacturing firms seeking to enhance financial performance and maintain competitiveness in an increasingly digital business environment. This study examines the effects of digital transformation and fixed asset turnover on the financial performance of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2025 period. A quantitative research design was employed using panel data regression analysis based on 180 firm-year observations selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that digital transformation has a positive and significant effect on financial performance, highlighting its role in improving organizational competitiveness and value creation. Fixed asset turnover contributes to cost efficiency but does not significantly enhance profitability. In addition, revenue growth positively influences financial performance, whereas financial leverage negatively affects it. Firm size and firm age are also found to influence cost efficiency. These results underscore the importance of digital transformation and effective asset utilization in strengthening firms' financial outcomes. The study contributes to the growing literature on digitalization and corporate performance by providing empirical evidence from Indonesia's manufacturing sector. However, the analysis is limited to publicly listed manufacturing companies over the 2021–2025 period. Future studies are encouraged to examine other industries, incorporate additional explanatory variables, and employ longer observation periods to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the determinants of financial performance. Abstract

This study examines the effects of price perception and service quality on user satisfaction with Trans Jatim Corridor II bus services in Indonesia. A quantitative research design was employed using a survey method, with data collected from 96 users selected through purposive sampling. All research constructs were measured using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed to evaluate the relationships among the variables. The findings indicate that favorable price perceptions and high service quality significantly contribute to user satisfaction, suggesting that both economic and service-related considerations influence passengers' evaluations of public transportation services. The proposed model explains 38.3% of the variance in user satisfaction, indicating that additional factors may also shape users' experiences and perceptions. These results highlight the importance of maintaining affordable fare policies while continuously enhancing service quality to improve customer satisfaction and encourage public transportation usage. The study contributes to the literature on public transportation service management by providing empirical evidence from an emerging transportation system in Indonesia. However, the findings are limited to a single transportation corridor. Future research is recommended to incorporate additional explanatory variables and examine different modes or routes of public transportation to provide a more comprehensive understanding of user satisfaction determinants. Abstract

Financial management practices are widely recognized as a critical determinant of the sustainability and growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, many MSMEs continue to experience challenges in implementing effective financial management practices, particularly in emerging economies. This study examines the effects of personality, education level, and financial knowledge on the financial management practices of MSME owners in Kampung Kue Rungkut, Surabaya, Indonesia. A quantitative research design was employed using a census approach involving all 59 MSMEs operating in the study area. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that education level and financial knowledge positively and significantly influence financial management practices, suggesting that MSME owners with higher educational attainment and greater financial literacy are more likely to adopt sound financial practices. In addition, personality is found to play an important role in shaping financial management behavior. These results underscore the importance of enhancing MSME owners’ financial capabilities and fostering positive behavioral attributes to support business sustainability. The study contributes to the MSME and financial management literature by providing empirical evidence from a community-based MSME cluster in Indonesia and offers practical implications for policymakers and development agencies seeking to strengthen MSME resilience through targeted education and financial literacy initiatives.
